8 அப்பொழுது அந்த நாட்டிலே மேய்ப்பர்கள் வயல்வெளியில் தங்கி, இராத்திரியிலே தங்கள் மந்தையைக் காத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9 அவ்வேளையில் கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் அவர்களிடத்திலே வந்து நின்றான், கர்த்தருடைய மகிமை அவர்களைச் சுற்றிலும் பிரகாசித்தது; அவர்கள் மிகவும் பயந்தார்கள். And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10 தேவதூதன் அவர்களை நோக்கி: பயப்படாதிருங்கள்; இதோ, எல்லா ஜனத்துக்கும் மிகுந்த சந்தோஷத்தை உண்டாக்கும் நற்செய்தியை உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கிறேன். And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11 இன்று கர்த்தராகிய கிறிஸ்து என்னும் இரட்சகர் உங்களுக்குத் தாவீதின் ஊரிலே பிறந்திருக்கிறார். For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

12 பிள்ளையைத் துணிகளில் சுற்றி, முன்னணையில் கிடத்தியிருக்கக்காண்பீர்கள்; இதுவே உங்களுக்கு அடையாளம் என்றான். And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

13 அந்தணமே பரமசேனையின் திரள் அந்தத் தூதனுடனே தோன்றி: And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 உன்னதத்திலிருக்கிற தேவனுக்கு மகிமையும், பூமியிலே சமாதானமும், மனுஷர்மேல் பிரியமும் உண்டாவதாக என்று சொல்லி, தேவனைத் துதித்தார்கள். Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

15 தேவதூதர்கள் அவர்களை விட்டுப் பரலோகத்துக்குப் போனபின்பு, மேய்ப்பர்கள் ஒருவரையொருவர் நோக்கி: நாம் பெத்லகேம் ஊருக்குப் போய், நடந்ததாகக் கர்த்தரால் நமக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்ட இந்தக் காரியத்தைப் பார்ப்போம் வாருங்கள் என்று சொல்லி, And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

16 தீவிரமாய் வந்து, மரியாளையும், யோசேப்பையும், முன்னணையிலே கிடத்தியிருக்கிற பிள்ளையையும் கண்டார்கள். And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

17 கண்டு, அந்தப் பிள்ளையைக் குறித்துத் தங்களுக்குச் சொல்லப்பட்ட சங்கதியைப் பிரசித்தம்பண்ணினார்கள். And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

18 மேய்ப்பராலே தங்களுக்குச் சொல்லப்பட்டதைக் கேட்ட யாவரும் அவைகளைக்குறித்து ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள். And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

19 மரியாளோ அந்தச் சங்கதிகளையெல்லாம் தன் இருதயத்திலே வைத்து, சிந்தனைபண்ணினாள். But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

20 மேய்ப்பர்களும் தங்களுக்குச் சொல்லப்பட்டதின்படியே கேட்டு, கண்ட எல்லாவற்றிற்காகவும் தேவனை மகிமைப்படுத்தி, துதித்துக்கொண்டு திரும்பிப்போனார்கள். And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

21 பிள்ளைக்கு விருத்தசேதனம் பண்ணவேண்டிய எட்டாம் நாளிலே, அது கர்ப்பத்திலே உற்பவிக்கிறதற்கு முன்னே தேவதூதனால் சொல்லப்பட்டபடியே அதற்கு இயேசு என்று பேரிட்டார்கள். And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

8 Appoluthu antha naattilae maeypparkal vayalveliyil thangi, iraaththiriyilae thangal manthaiyaik kaaththukkonntirunthaarkal. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9 Avvaelaiyil karththarutaiya thoothan avarkalidaththilae vanthu nintan, karththarutaiya makimai avarkalaich suttilum pirakaasiththathu; avarkal mikavum payanthaarkal. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10 Thaevathoothan avarkalai Nnokki: payappadaathirungal; itho, ellaa janaththukkum mikuntha santhoshaththai unndaakkum narseythiyai ungalukku arivikkiraேn. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11 Intu karththaraakiya Kristhu ennum iratchakar ungalukkuth thaaveethin oorilae piranthirukkiraar. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

12 Pillaiyaith thunnikalil sutti, munnannaiyil kidaththiyirukkakkaannpeerkal; ithuvae ungalukku ataiyaalam entan. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

13 Anthanamae paramasenaiyin thiral anthath thoothanudanae thonti: And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 Unnathaththilirukkira thaevanukku makimaiyum, poomiyilae samaathaanamum, manusharmael piriyamum unndaavathaaka entu solli, thaevanaith thuthiththaarkal. Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

15 Thaevathootharkal avarkalai vittup paralokaththukkup ponapinpu, maeypparkal oruvaraiyoruvar Nnokki: naam pethlakaem oorukkup poy, nadanthathaakak karththaraal namakku arivikkappatta inthak kaariyaththaip paarppom vaarungal entu solli, And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

16 Theeviramaay vanthu, mariyaalaiyum, yoseppaiyum, munnannaiyilae kidaththiyirukkira pillaiyaiyum kanndaarkal. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

17 Kanndu, anthap pillaiyaik kuriththuth thangalukkuch sollappatta sangathiyaip pirasiththampannnninaarkal. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

18 Maeypparaalae thangalukkuch sollappattathaik kaetta yaavarum avaikalaikkuriththu aachchariyappattarkal. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

19 Mariyaalo anthach sangathikalaiyellaam than iruthayaththilae vaiththu, sinthanaipannnninaal. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

20 Maeypparkalum thangalukkuch sollappattathinpatiyae kaettu, kannda ellaavattirkaakavum thaevanai makimaippaduththi, thuthiththukkonndu thirumpipponaarkal. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

21 Pillaikku viruththasethanam pannnavaenntiya ettam naalilae, athu karppaththilae urpavikkiratharku munnae thaevathoothanaal sollappattapatiyae atharku Yesu entu paerittarkal. And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
