கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்கு நன்மை செய்திருக்க, நீங்கள் கர்த்தரை விட்டு, அந்நிய தேவர்களைச் சேவித்தால், அவர் திரும்ப உங்களுக்குத் தீமை செய்து, உங்களை நிர்மூலமாக்குவார் என்றான்.

கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்கு நன்மை செய்திருக்க, நீங்கள் கர்த்தரைவிட்டு, அந்நிய தெய்வங்களைத் தொழுதுகொண்டால், அவர் திரும்பி உங்களுக்குத் தீமை செய்து, உங்களை அழிப்பார் என்றான்.

ஆனால் நீங்கள் கர்த்தரை விட்டு நீங்கிப் அந்நிய தெய்வங்களுக்கு சேவை செய்வீர்கள். உங்களுக்குக் கொடிய காரியங்கள் நிகழும்படி கர்த்தர் செய்வார். கர்த்தர் உங்களை அழிப்பார். தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உங்களிடம் நல்லவராக இருந்தார், ஆனால் நீங்கள் அவருக்கெதிராக திரும்பினால் அவர் உங்களை அழிப்பார்” என்றான்.

Karththar ungalukku nanmai seythirukka, neengal karththarai vittu, anniya thaevarkalaich seviththaal, avar thirumpa ungalukkuth theemai seythu, ungalai nirmoolamaakkuvaar entan.

ye forsake תַֽעַזְבוּ֙ ʿāzab ah-ZAHV
אֶת ʾēt ate
the Lord, יְהוָ֔ה yĕhōwâ yeh-hoh-VA
and serve וַֽעֲבַדְתֶּ֖ם ʿābad ah-VAHD
gods, אֱלֹהֵ֣י ʾĕlōhîm ay-loh-HEEM
strange נֵכָ֑ר nēkār nay-HAHR
then he will turn וְשָׁ֨ב šûb shoov
and do you hurt, וְהֵרַ֤ע rāʿaʿ ra-AH
לָכֶם֙
and consume וְכִלָּ֣ה kālâ ka-LA
אֶתְכֶ֔ם ʾēt ate
you, after אַֽחֲרֵ֖י ʾaḥar ah-HAHR
that אֲשֶׁר ʾăšer uh-SHER
he hath done you good. הֵיטִ֥יב yāṭab ya-TAHV
