இயேசு அதைக் கேட்டபொழுது: இந்த வியாதி மரணத்துக்கு ஏதுவாயிராமல் தேவனுடைய மகிமை விளங்குவதற்கு ஏதுவாயிருக்கிறது; தேவனுடைய குமாரனும் அதினால் மகிமைப்படுவார் என்றார்.

இயேசு இதனைக் கேட்டு “நோயின் முடிவு மரணம் அன்று. இந்த நோய் தேவனை மகிமைப்படுத்துவதற்காக ஏற்பட்டது. இது, தேவனின் குமாரனுக்குப் புகழைக் கொண்டுவருவதற்காகவே உண்டானது” என்றார்.
