  5. הַֽתְשַׂחֶק Wilt thou play śāḥaq בּ֭וֹ כַּצִּפּ֑וֹר with him as a bird? ṣippôr וְ֝תִקְשְׁרֶ֗נּוּ or wilt thou bind qāšar לְנַעֲרוֹתֶֽיךָ׃ him for thy maidens? naʿărâ

  16. אֶחָ֣ד One ʾeḥād בְּאֶחָ֣ד to another, ʾeḥād יִגַּ֑שׁוּ is so near nāgaš וְ֝ר֗וּחַ air rûaḥ לֹֽא that no lōʾ יָבֹ֥א can come bôʾ בֵֽינֵיהֶֽם׃ between them. bên

  19. מִ֭פִּיו Out of his mouth pe לַפִּידִ֣ים burning lamps, lappîd יַהֲלֹ֑כוּ go hālak כִּיד֥וֹדֵי sparks kîdôd אֵ֝֗שׁ of fire ʾēš יִתְמַלָּֽטוּ׃ leap out. mālaṭ
  20. מִ֭נְּחִירָיו Out of his nostrils nĕḥîr יֵצֵ֣א goeth yāṣāʾ עָשָׁ֑ן smoke, ʿāšān כְּד֖וּד pot dûd נָפ֣וּחַ as of a seething nāpaḥ וְאַגְמֹֽן׃ or caldron. ʾagmôn
  21. נַ֭פְשׁוֹ His breath nepeš גֶּחָלִ֣ים coals, geḥel תְּלַהֵ֑ט kindleth lāhaṭ וְ֝לַ֗הַב and a flame lahab מִפִּ֥יו of his mouth. pe יֵצֵֽא׃ goeth out yāṣāʾ
  22. בְּֽ֭צַוָּארוֹ In his neck ṣawwār יָלִ֣ין remaineth lûn עֹ֑ז strength, ʿōz וּ֝לְפָנָ֗יו before him. pānîm תָּד֥וּץ is turned into joy dûṣ דְּאָבָֽה׃ and sorrow dĕʾābâ
  23. מַפְּלֵ֣י The flakes mappāl בְשָׂר֣וֹ of his flesh bāśār דָבֵ֑קוּ are joined together: dābaq יָצ֥וּק they are firm yāṣaq עָ֝לָ֗יו in ʿal בַּל themselves; they cannot bal יִמּֽוֹט׃ be moved. môṭ
  24. לִ֭בּוֹ His heart lēb יָצ֣וּק is as firm yāṣaq כְּמוֹ as kĕmô אָ֑בֶן a stone; ʾeben וְ֝יָצ֗וּק yea, as hard yāṣaq כְּפֶ֣לַח as a piece pelaḥ תַּחְתִּֽית׃ of the nether taḥtî
  25. מִ֭שֵּׂתוֹ When he raiseth up śĕʾēt יָג֣וּרוּ are afraid: gûr אֵלִ֑ים himself, the mighty ʾēl מִ֝שְּׁבָרִ֗ים by reason of breakings šeber יִתְחַטָּֽאוּ׃ they purify themselves. ḥāṭāʾ
  26. מַשִּׂיגֵ֣הוּ of him that layeth nāśag חֶ֭רֶב The sword ḥereb בְּלִ֣י at him cannot bĕlî תָק֑וּם hold: qûm חֲנִ֖ית the spear, ḥănît מַסָּ֣ע the dart, massāʿ וְשִׁרְיָֽה׃ nor the habergeon. širyôn
  27. יַחְשֹׁ֣ב He esteemeth ḥāšab לְתֶ֣בֶן as straw, teben בַּרְזֶ֑ל iron barzel לְעֵ֖ץ wood. ʿēṣ רִקָּב֣וֹן as rotten riqqābôn נְחוּשָֽׁה׃ brass nĕḥûšâ
  28. לֹֽא cannot lōʾ יַבְרִיחֶ֥נּוּ make him flee: bāraḥ בֶן The arrow bēn קָ֑שֶׁת qešet לְ֝קַ֗שׁ with him into stubble. qaš נֶהְפְּכוּ are turned hāpak ל֥וֹ אַבְנֵי slingstones ʾeben קָֽלַע׃ qelaʿ
  29. כְּ֭קַשׁ as stubble: qaš נֶחְשְׁב֣וּ are counted ḥāšab תוֹתָ֑ח Darts tôtāḥ וְ֝יִשְׂחַ֗ק he laugheth śāḥaq לְרַ֣עַשׁ at the shaking raʿaš כִּידֽוֹן׃ of a spear. kîdôn
  30. תַּ֭חְתָּיו under taḥat חַדּ֣וּדֵי Sharp ḥaddûd חָ֑רֶשׂ stones ḥereś יִרְפַּ֖ד him: he spreadeth rāpad חָר֣וּץ sharp pointed things ḥărûṣ עֲלֵי upon ʿal טִֽיט׃ the mire. ṭîṭ
  31. יַרְתִּ֣יחַ to boil rātaḥ כַּסִּ֣יר like a pot: sîr מְצוּלָ֑ה He maketh the deep mĕṣôlâ יָ֝֗ם the sea yām יָשִׂ֥ים he maketh śûm כַּמֶּרְקָחָֽה׃ like a pot of ointment. merqāḥâ
  32. אַ֭חֲרָיו after ʾaḥar יָאִ֣יר to shine ʾôr נָתִ֑יב He maketh a path nātîb יַחְשֹׁ֖ב him; would think ḥāšab תְּה֣וֹם the deep tĕhôm לְשֵׂיבָֽה׃ hoary. śêbâ
  33. אֵֽין there is not ʾayin עַל Upon ʿal עָפָ֥ר earth ʿāpār מָשְׁל֑וֹ his like, mōšel הֶ֝עָשׂ֗וּ who is made ʿāśâ לִבְלִי without bĕlî חָֽת׃ fear. ḥat
  34. אֵֽת ʾēt כָּל all kōl גָּבֹ֥הַּ high gābōah יִרְאֶ֑ה He beholdeth rāʾâ ה֝֗וּא he hûʾ מֶ֣לֶךְ a king melek עַל over ʿal כָּל all kōl בְּנֵי the children bēn שָֽׁחַץ׃ of pride. šaḥaṣ
