  3. וַיָּבֹ֗אוּ came in, bôʾ כֹּ֚ל And all kōl שָׂרֵ֣י the princes śar מֶֽלֶךְ of the king melek בָּבֶ֔ל of Babylon bābel וַיֵּשְׁב֖וּ and sat yāšab בְּשַׁ֣עַר gate, šaʿar הַתָּ֑וֶךְ in the middle tāwek נֵרְגַ֣ל שַׂ֠רְאֶצֶר Nergal-sharezer, nērĕggal šarʾeṣer סַֽמְגַּר נְב֞וּ Samgar-nebo, samgar nĕbô שַׂר סְכִ֣ים Sarsechim, śarsĕkîm רַב סָרִ֗יס Rabsaris, rab sārîs נֵרְגַ֤ל שַׂרְאֶ֨צֶר֙ Nergal-sharezer, nērĕggal šarʾeṣer רַב מָ֔ג Rab-mag, rab māg וְכָל with all kōl שְׁאֵרִ֔ית the residue šĕʾērît שָׂרֵ֖י of the princes śar מֶ֥לֶךְ of the king melek בָּבֶֽל׃ of Babylon. bābel
  4. וַיְהִ֡י And it came to pass, hāyâ כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר when ʾăšer רָ֠אָם saw rāʾâ צִדְקִיָּ֨הוּ Zedekiah ṣidqiyyâ מֶֽלֶךְ the king melek יְהוּדָ֜ה of Judah yĕhûdâ וְכֹ֣ל׀ them, and all kōl אַנְשֵׁ֣י the men ʾĕnôš הַמִּלְחָמָ֗ה of war, milḥāmâ וַֽ֠יִּבְרְחוּ then they fled, bāraḥ וַיֵּצְא֨וּ and went forth yāṣāʾ לַ֤יְלָה by night, layil מִן out of min הָעִיר֙ the city ʿîr דֶּ֚רֶךְ by the way derek גַּ֣ן garden, gan הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ of the king's melek בְּשַׁ֖עַר by the gate šaʿar בֵּ֣ין betwixt bên הַחֹמֹתָ֑יִם the two walls: ḥômâ וַיֵּצֵ֖א and he went out yāṣāʾ דֶּ֥רֶךְ the way derek הָעֲרָבָֽה׃ of the plain. ʿărābâ
  5. וַיִּרְדְּפ֨וּ pursued rādap חֵיל army ḥayil כַּשְׂדִּ֜ים But the Chaldeans' kaśdî אַחֲרֵיהֶ֗ם after ʾaḥar וַיַּשִּׂ֣גוּ them, and overtook nāśag אֶת ʾēt צִדְקִיָּהוּ֮ Zedekiah ṣidqiyyâ בְּעַֽרְב֣וֹת in the plains ʿărābâ יְרֵחוֹ֒ of Jericho: yĕrîḥô וַיִּקְח֣וּ and when they had taken lāqaḥ אֹת֗וֹ upon him. ʾēt וַֽ֠יַּעֲלֻהוּ him, they brought him up ʿālâ אֶל to ʾēl נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֧ר Nebuchadnezzar nĕbûkadneʾṣṣar מֶֽלֶךְ king melek בָּבֶ֛ל of Babylon bābel רִבְלָ֖תָה to Riblah riblâ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ in the land ʾereṣ חֲמָ֑ת of Hamath, ḥămāt וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר where he gave dābar אִתּ֖וֹ ʾēt מִשְׁפָּטִֽים׃ judgment mišpāṭ
  6. וַיִּשְׁחַט֩ slew šāḥaṭ מֶ֨לֶךְ Then the king melek בָּבֶ֜ל of Babylon bābel אֶת ʾēt בְּנֵ֧י the sons bēn צִדְקִיָּ֛הוּ of Zedekiah ṣidqiyyâ בְּרִבְלָ֖ה in Riblah riblâ לְעֵינָ֑יו before his eyes: ʿayin וְאֵת֙ ʾēt כָּל all kōl חֹרֵ֣י the nobles ḥōr יְהוּדָ֔ה of Judah. yĕhûdâ שָׁחַ֖ט slew šāḥaṭ מֶ֥לֶךְ also the king melek בָּבֶֽל׃ of Babylon bābel
  7. וְאֶת ʾēt עֵינֵ֥י eyes, ʿayin צִדְקִיָּ֖הוּ Zedekiah's ṣidqiyyâ עִוֵּ֑ר Moreover he put out ʿāwar וַיַּאַסְרֵ֙הוּ֙ and bound ʾāsar בַּֽנְחֻשְׁתַּ֔יִם him with chains, nĕḥōšet לָבִ֥יא to carry bôʾ אֹת֖וֹ ʾēt בָּבֶֽלָה׃ him to Babylon. bābel
  8. וְאֶת ʾēt בֵּ֤ית house, bayit הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ the king's melek וְאֶת ʾēt בֵּ֣ית and the houses bayit הָעָ֔ם of the people, ʿam שָׂרְפ֥וּ burned śārap הַכַּשְׂדִּ֖ים And the Chaldeans kaśdî בָּאֵ֑שׁ with fire, ʾēš וְאֶת ʾēt חֹמ֥וֹת the walls ḥômâ יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם of Jerusalem. yĕrûšālaim נָתָֽצוּ׃ and brake down nātaṣ
  9. וְאֵת֩ Then ʾāz יֶ֨תֶר the remnant yeter הָעָ֜ם of the people ʿam הַנִּשְׁאָרִ֣ים that remained šāʾar בָּעִ֗יר in the city, ʿîr וְאֶת him, with ʾēt הַנֹּֽפְלִים֙ and those that fell away, nāpal אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ʾăšer נָפְל֣וּ fell nāpal עָלָ֔יו to ʿal וְאֵ֛ת ʾēt יֶ֥תֶר the rest yeter הָעָ֖ם of the people ʿam הַנִּשְׁאָרִ֑ים that remained. šāʾar הֶגְלָ֛ה carried away captive gālâ נְבוּזַרְאֲדָ֥ן Nebuzar-adan nĕbûzarʾădān רַב the captain rab טַבָּחִ֖ים of the guard ṭabbāḥ בָּבֶֽל׃ into Babylon bābel
  10. וּמִן of min הָעָ֣ם the people, ʿam הַדַּלִּ֗ים of the poor dal אֲשֶׁ֤ר which ʾăšer אֵין ʾayin לָהֶם֙ מְא֔וּמָה had nothing, mĕʾûmâ הִשְׁאִ֛יר left šāʾar נְבוּזַרְאֲדָ֥ן But Nebuzar-adan nĕbûzarʾădān רַב the captain rab טַבָּחִ֖ים of the guard ṭabbāḥ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ in the land ʾereṣ יְהוּדָ֑ה of Judah, yĕhûdâ וַיִּתֵּ֥ן and gave nātan לָהֶ֛ם כְּרָמִ֥ים them vineyards kerem וִֽיגֵבִ֖ים and fields yāgēb בַּיּ֥וֹם time. yôm הַהֽוּא׃ at the same hûʾ
  11. וַיְצַ֛ו gave charge ṣāwâ נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֥ר Now Nebuchadrezzar nĕbûkadneʾṣṣar מֶֽלֶךְ king melek בָּבֶ֖ל of Babylon bābel עַֽל concerning ʿal יִרְמְיָ֑הוּ Jeremiah yirmĕyâ בְּיַ֛ד to yād נְבוּזַרְאֲדָ֥ן Nebuzar-adan nĕbûzarʾădān רַב the captain rab טַבָּחִ֖ים of the guard, ṭabbāḥ לֵאמֹֽר׃ saying, ʾāmar
  12. קָחֶ֗נּוּ Take lāqaḥ וְעֵינֶ֙יךָ֙ him, and look well ʿayin שִׂ֣ים śûm עָלָ֔יו to ʿal וְאַל him no ʾal תַּ֥עַשׂ him, and do ʿāśâ ל֖וֹ מְא֣וּמָה harm; mĕʾûmâ רָּ֑ע raʿ כִּ֗י but אִם ʾim כַּֽאֲשֶׁר֙ as ʾăšer יְדַבֵּ֣ר he shall say dābar אֵלֶ֔יךָ unto thee. ʾēl כֵּ֖ן him even kēn עֲשֵׂ֥ה do ʿāśâ עִמּֽוֹ׃ unto ʿim
  13. וַיִּשְׁלַ֞ח sent, šālaḥ נְבֽוּזַרְאֲדָ֣ן So Nebuzar-adan nĕbûzarʾădān רַב the captain rab טַבָּחִ֗ים of the guard ṭabbāḥ וּנְבֽוּשַׁזְבָּן֙ and Nebushasban, nĕbûšazbān רַב סָרִ֔יס Rabsaris, rab sārîs וְנֵרְגַ֥ל שַׂרְאֶ֖צֶר and Nergal-sharezer, nērĕggal šarʾeṣer רַב מָ֑ג Rab-mag, rab māg וְכֹ֖ל and all kōl רַבֵּ֥י princes; rab מֶֽלֶךְ the king melek בָּבֶֽל׃ of Babylon's bābel
  14. וַיִּשְׁלְחוּ֩ Even they sent, šālaḥ וַיִּקְח֨וּ and took lāqaḥ אֶֽת ʾēt יִרְמְיָ֜הוּ Jeremiah yirmĕyâ מֵחֲצַ֣ר out of the court ḥāṣēr הַמַּטָּרָ֗ה of the prison, maṭṭārāʾ וַיִּתְּנ֤וּ and committed nātan אֹתוֹ֙ ʾēt אֶל him unto ʾēl גְּדַלְיָ֙הוּ֙ Gedaliah gĕddalyâ בֶּן the son bēn אֲחִיקָ֣ם of Ahikam ʾăḥîqām בֶּן the son bēn שָׁפָ֔ן of Shaphan, šāpān לְהוֹצִאֵ֖הוּ that he should carry yāṣāʾ אֶל ʾēl הַבָּ֑יִת him home: bayit וַיֵּ֖שֶׁב so he dwelt yāšab בְּת֥וֹךְ among tāwek הָעָֽם׃ the people. ʿam
  15. וְאֶֽל unto ʾēl יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ Jeremiah, yirmĕyâ הָיָ֣ה came hāyâ דְבַר Now the word dābār יְהוָ֑ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ בִּֽהְיֹת֣וֹ while he was hāyâ עָצ֔וּר shut up ʿāṣār בַּחֲצַ֥ר in the court ḥāṣēr הַמַּטָּרָ֖ה of the prison, maṭṭārāʾ לֵאמֹֽר׃ saying, ʾāmar
  16. הָל֣וֹךְ Go hālak וְאָמַרְתָּ֡ and speak ʾāmar לְעֶבֶד מֶ֨לֶךְ to Ebed-melech ʿebed melek הַכּוּשִׁ֜י the Ethiopian, kûšî לֵאמֹ֗ר saying, ʾāmar כֹּֽה Thus אָמַ֞ר saith ʾāmar יְהוָ֤ה the Lord yĕhōwâ צְבָאוֹת֙ of hosts, ṣābāʾ אֱלֹהֵ֣י the God ʾĕlōhîm יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel; yiśrāʾēl הִנְנִי֩ Behold, hēn מֵבִ֨י I will bring bôʾ אֶת ʾēt דְּבָרַ֜י my words dābār אֶל upon ʾēl הָעִ֥יר city ʿîr הַזֹּ֛את this zōt לְרָעָ֖ה for evil, raʿ וְלֹ֣א and not lōʾ לְטוֹבָ֑ה for good; ṭôb וְהָי֥וּ and they shall be hāyâ לְפָנֶ֖יךָ before thee. pānîm בַּיּ֥וֹם day yôm הַהֽוּא׃ in that hûʾ
  17. וְהִצַּלְתִּ֥יךָ But I will deliver nāṣal בַיּוֹם day, yôm הַה֖וּא thee in that hûʾ נְאֻם saith nĕʾum יְהוָ֑ה the Lord: yĕhōwâ וְלֹ֤א and thou shalt not lōʾ תִנָּתֵן֙ be given nātan בְּיַ֣ד into the hand yād הָֽאֲנָשִׁ֔ים of the men ʾîš אֲשֶׁר ʾăšer אַתָּ֥ה thou ʾattâ יָג֖וֹר afraid. yāgôr מִפְּנֵיהֶֽם׃ of whom pānîm
  18. כִּ֤י For מַלֵּט֙ I will surely mālaṭ אֲמַלֶּטְךָ֔ deliver mālaṭ וּבַחֶ֖רֶב by the sword, ḥereb לֹ֣א thee, and thou shalt not lōʾ תִפֹּ֑ל fall nāpal וְהָיְתָ֨ה shall be hāyâ לְךָ֤ נַפְשְׁךָ֙ but thy life nepeš לְשָׁלָ֔ל for a prey šālāl כִּֽי unto thee: because בָטַ֥חְתָּ thou hast put thy trust bāṭaḥ בִּ֖י נְאֻם in me, saith nĕʾum יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ
