כָּרַ֥ע boweth down, kāraʿ בֵּל֙ Bel bēl קֹרֵ֣ס stoopeth, qāras נְב֔וֹ Nebo nĕbô הָיוּ֙ were hāyâ עֲצַבֵּיהֶ֔ם their idols ʿāṣāb לַחַיָּ֖ה upon the beasts, ḥay וְלַבְּהֵמָ֑ה and upon the cattle: bĕhēmâ נְשֻׂאֹתֵיכֶ֣ם your carriages nĕśûʾâ עֲמוּס֔וֹת heavy loaden; ʿāmas מַשָּׂ֖א a burden maśśāʾ לַעֲיֵפָֽה׃ to the weary ʿāyēp

קָרְס֤וּ They stoop, qāras כָֽרְעוּ֙ they bow down kāraʿ יַחְדָּ֔ו together; yaḥad לֹ֥א not lōʾ יָכְל֖וּ they could yākōl מַלֵּ֣ט deliver mālaṭ מַשָּׂ֑א the burden, maśśāʾ וְנַפְשָׁ֖ם but themselves nepeš בַּשְּׁבִ֥י into captivity. šĕbî הָלָֽכָה׃ are gone hālak

שִׁמְע֤וּ Hearken šāmaʿ אֵלַי֙ unto ʾēl בֵּ֣ית me, O house bayit יַעֲקֹ֔ב of Jacob, yaʿăqōb וְכָל and all kōl שְׁאֵרִ֖ית the remnant šĕʾērît בֵּ֣ית of the house bayit יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl הַֽעֲמֻסִים֙ which are borne ʿāmas מִנִּי from min בֶ֔טֶן the belly, beṭen הַנְּשֻׂאִ֖ים which are carried nāśāʾ מִנִּי from min רָֽחַם׃ the womb: raḥam

וְעַד And to ʿad זִקְנָה֙ old age ziqnâ אֲנִ֣י I ʾănî ה֔וּא he; hûʾ וְעַד and to ʿad שֵיבָ֖ה hoar hairs śêbâ אֲנִ֣י will I ʾănî אֶסְבֹּ֑ל carry sābal אֲנִ֤י I ʾănî עָשִׂ֙יתִי֙ have made, ʿāśâ וַאֲנִ֣י and I ʾănî אֶשָּׂ֔א will bear; nāśāʾ וַאֲנִ֥י even I ʾănî אֶסְבֹּ֖ל will carry, sābal וַאֲמַלֵּֽט׃ and will deliver mālaṭ

לְמִ֥י To whom mî תְדַמְי֖וּנִי will ye liken dāmâ וְתַשְׁו֑וּ me, and make equal, šāwâ וְתַמְשִׁל֖וּנִי and compare māšal וְנִדְמֶֽה׃ me, that we may be like? dāmâ

הַזָּלִ֤ים They lavish zûl זָהָב֙ gold zāhāb מִכִּ֔יס out of the bag, kîs וְכֶ֖סֶף silver kesep בַּקָּנֶ֣ה in the balance, qāne יִשְׁקֹ֑לוּ and weigh šāqal יִשְׂכְּר֤וּ hire śākar צוֹרֵף֙ a goldsmith; ṣārap וְיַעֲשֵׂ֣הוּ and he maketh ʿāśâ אֵ֔ל it a god: ʾēl יִסְגְּד֖וּ they fall down, sāgad אַף yea, ʾap יִֽשְׁתַּחֲוּֽוּ׃ they worship. šāḥâ

יִ֠שָּׂאֻהוּ They bear him nāśāʾ עַל upon ʿal כָּתֵ֨ף the shoulder, kātēp יִסְבְּלֻ֜הוּ they carry him, sābal וְיַנִּיחֻ֤הוּ and set yānaḥ תַחְתָּיו֙ him in his place, taḥat וְיַֽעֲמֹ֔ד and he standeth; ʿāmad מִמְּקוֹמ֖וֹ from his place māqôm לֹ֣א shall he not lōʾ יָמִ֑ישׁ remove: mûš אַף yea, ʾap יִצְעַ֤ק shall cry ṣāʿaq אֵלָיו֙ unto ʾēl וְלֹ֣א him, yet can he not lōʾ יַעֲנֶ֔ה answer, ʿānâ מִצָּרָת֖וֹ him out of his trouble. ṣārâ לֹ֥א nor lōʾ יוֹשִׁיעֶֽנּוּ׃ save yāšaʿ

זִכְרוּ Remember zākar זֹ֖את this, zōt וְהִתְאֹשָׁ֑שׁוּ and shew yourselves men: ʾîš הָשִׁ֥יבוּ bring again šûb פוֹשְׁעִ֖ים O ye transgressors. pāšaʿ עַל to ʿal לֵֽב׃ mind, lēb

זִכְר֥וּ Remember zākar רִאשֹׁנ֖וֹת the former things riʾšôn מֵעוֹלָ֑ם of old: ʿôlām כִּ֣י for kî אָנֹכִ֥י I ʾānōkî אֵל֙ God, ʾēl וְאֵ֣ין and none ʾayin ע֔וֹד else; ʿôd אֱלֹהִ֖ים God, ʾĕlōhîm וְאֶ֥פֶס and none ʾepes כָּמֽוֹנִי׃ like me, kĕmô

מַגִּ֤יד Declaring nāgad מֵֽרֵאשִׁית֙ from the beginning, rēʾšît אַחֲרִ֔ית the end ʾaḥărît וּמִקֶּ֖דֶם and from ancient times qedem אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ʾăšer לֹא are not lōʾ נַעֲשׂ֑וּ done, ʿāśâ אֹמֵר֙ saying, ʾāmar עֲצָתִ֣י My counsel ʿēṣâ תָק֔וּם shall stand, qûm וְכָל all kōl חֶפְצִ֖י my pleasure: ḥēpeṣ אֶעֱשֶֽׂה׃ and I will do ʿāśâ

קֹרֵ֤א Calling qārāʾ מִמִּזְרָח֙ from the east, mizrāḥ עַ֔יִט a ravenous bird ʿayiṭ מֵאֶ֥רֶץ country: ʾereṣ מֶרְחָ֖ק from a far merḥāq אִ֣ישׁ the man ʾîš עֲצָתִ֑ו that executeth my counsel ʿēṣâ אַף yea, ʾap דִּבַּ֙רְתִּי֙ I have spoken dābar אַף I will also ʾap אֲבִיאֶ֔נָּה bring bôʾ יָצַ֖רְתִּי it to pass; I have purposed yāṣar אַף I will also ʾap אֶעֱשֶֽׂנָּה׃ do it. ʿāśâ

שִׁמְע֥וּ Hearken šāmaʿ אֵלַ֖י unto ʾēl אַבִּ֣ירֵי me, ye stouthearted, ʾabbîr לֵ֑ב lēb הָרְחוֹקִ֖ים that far from rāḥôq מִצְּדָקָֽה׃ righteousness: ṣĕdāqâ

קֵרַ֤בְתִּי I bring near qārab צִדְקָתִי֙ my righteousness; ṣĕdāqâ לֹ֣א it shall not lōʾ תִרְחָ֔ק be far off, rāḥaq וּתְשׁוּעָתִ֖י and my salvation tĕšûʿâ לֹ֣א shall not lōʾ תְאַחֵ֑ר tarry: ʾāḥar וְנָתַתִּ֤י and I will place nātan בְצִיּוֹן֙ in Zion ṣiyyôn תְּשׁוּעָ֔ה salvation tĕšûʿâ לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל for Israel yiśrāʾēl תִּפְאַרְתִּֽי׃ my glory. tipʾārâ
