மரத்தைப்பார்த்து விழியென்றும், ஊமையான கல்லைப்பார்த்து எழும்பு என்றும் சொல்லுகிறவனுக்கு ஐயோ! அது போதிக்குமோ? இதோ, அது பொன்னும் வெள்ளியுமான தகட்டால் மூடப்பட்டிருக்கிறது; அதற்குள்ளே சுவாசம் இல்லையே?

மரச் சிலையைப் பார்த்து “எழும்பு!” என்று சொல்கிறவன் மிகவும் மோசமானவன். பேசமுடியாத ஒரு கற்சிலையிடம் ஒருவன் “விழித்தெழு!” என்று கூறுவது அவனுக்கு மிகவும் கேடானது. அவை அவனுக்கு உதவாது. அச்சிலை வேண்டுமானால் பொன்னாலும் வெள்ளியாலும் மூடப்பட்டிருக்கலாம், ஆனால் அச்சிலைக்குள் உயிரில்லை.
