וַיְשִׁבֵנִי֮ Afterward he brought me again šûb אֶל unto ʾēl פֶּ֣תַח the door petaḥ הַבַּיִת֒ of the house; bayit וְהִנֵּה and, behold, hinnē מַ֣יִם waters mayim יֹצְאִ֗ים issued out yāṣāʾ מִתַּ֨חַת from under taḥat מִפְתַּ֤ן the threshold miptān הַבַּ֙יִת֙ of the house bayit קָדִ֔ימָה eastward: qādîm כִּֽי for kî פְנֵ֥י the forefront pānîm הַבַּ֖יִת of the house bayit קָדִ֑ים the east, qādîm וְהַמַּ֣יִם and the waters mayim יֹרְדִ֗ים came down yārad מִתַּ֜חַת from under taḥat מִכֶּ֤תֶף side kātēp הַבַּ֙יִת֙ of the house, bayit הַיְמָנִ֔ית from the right yĕmānî מִנֶּ֖גֶב at the south negeb לַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃ of the altar. mizbēaḥ

וַיּוֹצִאֵנִי֮ Then brought he me out yāṣāʾ דֶּֽרֶךְ of the way derek שַׁ֣עַר of the gate šaʿar צָפוֹנָה֒ northward, ṣāpôn וַיְסִבֵּ֙נִי֙ and led me about sābab דֶּ֣רֶךְ the way derek ח֔וּץ without ḥûṣ אֶל unto ʾēl שַׁ֣עַר gate šaʿar הַח֔וּץ the utter ḥûṣ דֶּ֖רֶךְ by the way derek הַפּוֹנֶ֣ה that looketh pānâ קָדִ֑ים eastward; qādîm וְהִנֵּה and, behold, hinnē מַ֣יִם waters mayim מְפַכִּ֔ים there ran out pākâ מִן on min הַכָּתֵ֖ף side. kātēp הַיְמָנִֽית׃ the right yĕmānî

בְּצֵאת went forth yāṣāʾ הָאִ֥ישׁ And when the man ʾîš קָדִ֖ים eastward, qādîm וְקָ֣ו that had the line qǎw בְּיָד֑וֹ in his hand yād וַיָּ֤מָד he measured mādad אֶ֙לֶף֙ a thousand ʾelep בָּֽאַמָּ֔ה cubits, ʾammâ וַיַּעֲבִרֵ֥נִי and he brought me through ʿābar בַמַּ֖יִם the waters; mayim מֵ֥י the waters mayim אָפְסָֽיִם׃ to the ankles. ʾepes

וַיָּ֣מָד Again he measured mādad אֶ֔לֶף a thousand, ʾelep וַיַּעֲבִרֵ֥נִי and brought ʿābar בַמַּ֖יִם me through the waters; mayim מַ֣יִם the waters mayim בִּרְכָּ֑יִם to the knees. berek וַיָּ֣מָד Again he measured mādad אֶ֔לֶף a thousand, ʾelep וַיַּעֲבִרֵ֖נִי and brought me through; ʿābar מֵ֥י the waters mayim מָתְנָֽיִם׃ to the loins. mōten

וַיָּ֣מָד Afterward he measured mādad אֶ֔לֶף a thousand; ʾelep נַ֕חַל a river naḥal אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ʾăšer לֹֽא not lōʾ אוּכַ֖ל I could yākōl לַעֲבֹ֑ר pass over: ʿābar כִּֽי for kî גָא֤וּ were risen, gāʾâ הַמַּ֙יִם֙ the waters mayim מֵ֣י waters mayim שָׂ֔חוּ to swim in, śāḥû נַ֖חַל a river naḥal אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ʾăšer לֹֽא could not lōʾ יֵעָבֵֽר׃ be passed over. ʿābar

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר And he said ʾāmar אֵלַ֖י unto ʾēl הֲרָאִ֣יתָ hast thou seen rāʾâ בֶן me, Son bēn אָדָ֑ם of man, ʾādām וַיּוֹלִכֵ֥נִי Then he brought hālak וַיְשִׁבֵ֖נִי me, and caused me to return šûb שְׂפַ֥ת to the brink śāpâ הַנָּֽחַל׃ of the river. naḥal

בְּשׁוּבֵ֕נִי Now when I had returned, šûb וְהִנֵּה֙ behold, hinnē אֶל at ʾēl שְׂפַ֣ת the bank śāpâ הַנַּ֔חַל of the river naḥal עֵ֖ץ trees ʿēṣ רַ֣ב many rab מְאֹ֑ד very mĕʾōd מִזֶּ֖ה on the one side and on the other. ze וּמִזֶּֽה׃ ze

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר Then said ʾāmar אֵלַ֗י he unto ʾēl הַמַּ֤יִם waters mayim הָאֵ֙לֶּה֙ me, These ʾēlle יוֹצְאִ֗ים issue out yāṣāʾ אֶל toward ʾēl הַגְּלִילָה֙ country, gĕlîlâ הַקַּדְמוֹנָ֔ה the east qadmôn וְיָרְד֖וּ and go down yārad עַל into ʿal הָֽעֲרָבָ֑ה the desert, ʿărābâ וּבָ֣אוּ and go into bôʾ הַיָּ֔מָּה the sea: yām אֶל into ʾēl הַיָּ֥מָּה the sea, yām הַמּֽוּצָאִ֖ים brought forth yāṣāʾ וְנִרְפּ֥אוּ shall be healed. rāpāʾ הַמָּֽיִם׃ the waters mayim

וְהָיָ֣ה And it shall come to pass, hāyâ כָל every kōl נֶ֣פֶשׁ thing nepeš חַיָּ֣ה׀ that liveth, ḥay אֲֽשֶׁר which ʾăšer יִשְׁרֹ֡ץ moveth, šāraṣ אֶ֣ל whithersoever ʾēl כָּל kōl אֲשֶׁר֩ whither ʾăšer יָב֨וֹא shall come, bôʾ שָׁ֤ם thither: šām נַחֲלַ֙יִם֙ the rivers naḥal יִֽחְיֶ֔ה shall live: ḥāyâ וְהָיָ֥ה and there shall be hāyâ הַדָּגָ֖ה multitude of fish, dāgâ רַבָּ֣ה great rab מְאֹ֑ד a very mĕʾōd כִּי֩ because kî בָ֨אוּ shall come bôʾ שָׁ֜מָּה šām הַמַּ֣יִם waters mayim הָאֵ֗לֶּה these ʾēlle וְיֵרָֽפְאוּ֙ for they shall be healed; rāpāʾ וָחָ֔י shall live ḥāyay כֹּ֛ל and every thing kōl אֲשֶׁר ʾăšer יָ֥בוֹא cometh. bôʾ שָׁ֖מָּה šām הַנָּֽחַל׃ the river naḥal

וְהָיָה֩ And it shall come to pass, hāyâ יעָמְד֨וּ shall stand ʿāmad עָלָ֜יו upon ʿal דַּוָּגִ֗ים the fishers dawwāg מֵעֵ֥ין גֶּ֙דִי֙ it from En-gedi ʿên gedî וְעַד even unto ʿad עֵ֣ין עֶגְלַ֔יִם En-eglaim; ʿên ʿeglayim מִשְׁט֥וֹחַ a to spread forth mišṭôaḥ לַֽחֲרָמִ֖ים nets; ḥērem יִהְי֑וּ they shall be hāyâ לְמִינָה֙ according to their kinds, mîn תִּהְיֶ֣ה shall be hāyâ דְגָתָ֔ם their fish dāgâ כִּדְגַ֛ת as the fish dāgâ הַיָּ֥ם sea, yām הַגָּד֖וֹל of the great gādôl רַבָּ֥ה many. rab מְאֹֽד׃ exceeding mĕʾōd

בִּצֹּאתָ֧ו But the miry places biṣṣâ וּגְבָאָ֛יו thereof and the marishes gebeʾ וְלֹ֥א thereof shall not lōʾ יֵרָפְא֖וּ be healed; rāpāʾ לְמֶ֥לַח to salt. melaḥ נִתָּֽנוּ׃ they shall be given nātan

וְעַל And by ʿal הַנַּ֣חַל the river naḥal יַעֲלֶ֣ה shall grow ʿālâ עַל upon ʿal שְׂפָת֣וֹ the bank śāpâ מִזֶּ֣ה׀ thereof, on this side ze וּמִזֶּ֣ה׀ and on that side, ze כָּל all kōl עֵֽץ trees ʿēṣ מַ֠אֲכָל for meat, maʾăkāl לֹא shall not lōʾ יִבּ֨וֹל fade, nābēl עָלֵ֜הוּ whose leaf ʿāle וְלֹֽא neither lōʾ יִתֹּ֣ם thereof be consumed: tāmam פִּרְי֗וֹ shall the fruit pĕrî לָֽחֳדָשָׁיו֙ according to his months, ḥōdeš יְבַכֵּ֔ר it shall bring forth new fruit bākar כִּ֣י because kî מֵימָ֔יו their waters mayim מִן of min הַמִּקְדָּ֖שׁ the sanctuary: miqdoš הֵ֣מָּה they hēm יֽוֹצְאִ֑ים issued out yāṣāʾ וְהָיָ֤ו thereof shall be hāyâ פִרְיוֹ֙ and the fruit pĕrî לְמַֽאֲכָ֔ל for meat, maʾăkāl וְעָלֵ֖הוּ and the leaf ʿāle לִתְרוּפָֽה׃ thereof for medicine. tĕrûpâ

כֹּ֤ה Thus kō אָמַר֙ saith ʾāmar אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֔ה God; yĕhōwi גֵּ֤ה This gē גְבוּל֙ the border, gĕbûl אֲשֶׁ֣ר whereby ʾăšer תִּתְנַחֲל֣וּ ye shall inherit nāḥal אֶת ʾēt הָאָ֔רֶץ the land ʾereṣ לִשְׁנֵ֥י according to the twelve šĕnayim עָשָׂ֖ר ʿāśār שִׁבְטֵ֣י tribes šēbeṭ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel: yiśrāʾēl יוֹסֵ֖ף Joseph yôsēp חֲבָלִֽים׃ portions. ḥebel

וּנְחַלְתֶּ֤ם And ye shall inherit nāḥal אוֹתָהּ֙ ʾēt אִ֣ישׁ it, one ʾîš כְּאָחִ֔יו as well as another: ʾāḥ אֲשֶׁ֤ר the which ʾăšer נָשָׂ֙אתִי֙ I lifted up nāśāʾ אֶת ʾēt יָדִ֔י mine hand yād לְתִתָּ֖הּ to give nātan לַאֲבֹֽתֵיכֶ֑ם it unto your fathers: ʾāb וְנָ֨פְלָ֜ה shall fall nāpal הָאָ֧רֶץ land ʾereṣ הַזֹּ֛את and this zōt לָכֶ֖ם בְּנַחֲלָֽה׃ unto you for inheritance. naḥălâ

וְזֶ֖ה And this ze גְּב֣וּל the border gĕbûl הָאָ֑רֶץ of the land ʾereṣ לִפְאַ֨ת side, pēʾâ צָפ֜וֹנָה toward the north ṣāpôn מִן from min הַיָּ֧ם sea, yām הַגָּד֛וֹל the great gādôl הַדֶּ֥רֶךְ the way derek חֶתְלֹ֖ן of Hethlon, ḥetlōn לְב֥וֹא as men go bôʾ צְדָֽדָה׃ to Zedad; ṣĕdād

חֲמָ֤ת׀ Hamath, ḥămāt בֵּר֙וֹתָה֙ Berothah, bērôtâ סִבְרַ֔יִם Sibraim, sibrayim אֲשֶׁר֙ which ʾăšer בֵּין between bên גְּב֣וּל the border gĕbûl דַּמֶּ֔שֶׂק of Damascus dammeśeq וּבֵ֖ין bên גְּב֣וּל and the border gĕbûl חֲמָ֑ת of Hamath; ḥămāt חָצֵר֙ הַתִּיכ֔וֹן Hazar-hatticon, ḥăṣar hattîkôn אֲשֶׁ֖ר which ʾăšer אֶל by ʾēl גְּב֥וּל the coast gĕbûl חַוְרָֽן׃ of Hauran. ḥawrān

וְהָיָ֨ה shall be hāyâ גְב֜וּל And the border gĕbûl מִן from min הַיָּ֗ם the sea yām חֲצַ֤ר עֵינוֹן֙ Hazar-enan, ḥăṣar ʿênôn גְּב֣וּל the border gĕbûl דַּמֶּ֔שֶׂק of Damascus, dammeśeq וְצָפ֥וֹן׀ and the north ṣāpôn צָפ֖וֹנָה northward, ṣāpôn וּגְב֣וּל and the border gĕbûl חֲמָ֑ת of Hamath. ḥămāt וְאֵ֖ת ʾēt פְּאַ֥ת side. pēʾâ צָפֽוֹן׃ And the north ṣāpôn

וּפְאַ֣ת side pēʾâ קָדִ֡ים And the east qādîm מִבֵּ֣ין from bên חַוְרָ֣ן Hauran, ḥawrān וּמִבֵּין and from bên דַּמֶּשֶׂק֩ Damascus, dammeśeq וּמִבֵּ֨ין and from bên הַגִּלְעָ֜ד Gilead, gilʿād וּמִבֵּ֨ין and from bên אֶ֤רֶץ the land ʾereṣ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ of Israel yiśrāʾēl הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן Jordan, yardēn מִגְּב֛וּל from the border gĕbûl עַל unto ʿal הַיָּ֥ם sea. yām הַקַּדְמוֹנִ֖י the east qadmônî תָּמֹ֑דּוּ ye shall measure mādad וְאֵ֖ת ʾēt פְּאַ֥ת side. pēʾâ קָדִֽימָה׃ And the east qādîm

וּפְאַת֙ side pēʾâ נֶ֣גֶב And the south negeb תֵּימָ֔נָה southward, têmān מִתָּמָ֗ר from Tamar tāmār עַד to ʿad מֵי֙ the waters mayim מְרִיב֣וֹת of strife mĕrîbâ קָדֵ֔שׁ Kadesh, qādēš נַחֲלָ֖ה the river naḥal אֶל to ʾēl הַיָּ֣ם sea. yām הַגָּד֑וֹל the great gādôl וְאֵ֥ת ʾēt פְּאַת side pēʾâ תֵּימָ֖נָה And the south têmān נֶֽגְבָּה׃ southward. negeb

וּפְאַת side pēʾâ יָם֙ The west yām הַיָּ֣ם sea yām הַגָּד֔וֹל also the great gādôl מִגְּב֕וּל from the border, gĕbûl עַד till ʿad נֹ֖כַח over against nōkaḥ לְב֣וֹא a man come bôʾ חֲמָ֑ת Hamath. ḥămāt זֹ֖את This zōt פְּאַת side. pēʾâ יָֽם׃ the west yām

וְחִלַּקְתֶּ֞ם So shall ye divide ḥālaq אֶת ʾēt הָאָ֧רֶץ land ʾereṣ הַזֹּ֛את this zōt לָכֶ֖ם לְשִׁבְטֵ֥י unto you according to the tribes šēbeṭ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel. yiśrāʾēl

וְהָיָ֗ה And it shall come to pass, hāyâ תַּפִּ֣לוּ ye shall divide nāpal אוֹתָהּ֮ it by lot ʾēt בְּנַחֲלָה֒ for an inheritance naḥălâ לָכֶ֗ם וּלְהַגֵּרִים֙ unto you, and to the strangers gēr הַגָּרִ֣ים that sojourn gûr בְּתוֹכְכֶ֔ם among tāwek אֲשֶׁר you, which ʾăšer הוֹלִ֥דוּ shall beget yālad בָנִ֖ים children bēn בְּתֽוֹכְכֶ֑ם among tāwek וְהָי֣וּ you: and they shall be hāyâ לָכֶ֗ם כְּאֶזְרָח֙ unto you as born in the country ʾezrāḥ בִּבְנֵ֣י among the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel; yiśrāʾēl אִתְּכֶם֙ with ʾēt יִפְּל֣וּ they shall have nāpal בְנַחֲלָ֔ה inheritance naḥălâ בְּת֖וֹךְ you among tāwek שִׁבְטֵ֥י the tribes šēbeṭ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel. yiśrāʾēl

וְהָיָ֣ה And it shall come to pass, hāyâ בַשֵּׁ֔בֶט tribe šēbeṭ אֲשֶׁר in what ʾăšer גָּ֥ר sojourneth, gûr הַגֵּ֖ר the stranger gēr אִתּ֑וֹ there ʾēt שָׁ֚ם šām תִּתְּנ֣וּ shall ye give nātan נַחֲלָת֔וֹ his inheritance, naḥălâ נְאֻ֖ם saith nĕʾum אֲדֹנָ֥י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִֽה׃ God. yĕhōwâ
