1 பின்பு, அவன் தன் வீட்டு விசாரணைக்காரனை நோக்கி: நீ இந்த மனிதருடைய சாக்குகளை அவர்கள் ஏற்றிக்கொண்டுபோகத்தக்க பாரமாய்த் தானியத்தினாலே நிரப்பி, அவனவன் பணத்தை அவனவன் சாக்கின் வாயிலே போட்டு, And he commanded the steward of his house, saying, Fill the men's sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put every man's money in his sack's mouth.

And put my cup, the silver cup, in the sack's mouth of the youngest, and his corn money. And he did according to the word that Joseph had spoken.

3 அதிகாலையிலே அந்த மனிதர்கள் தங்கள் கழுதைகளை ஓட்டிக்கொண்டு போகும்படி அனுப்பிவிடப்பட்டார்கள். As soon as the morning was light, the men were sent away, they and their asses.

4 அவர்கள் பட்டணத்தை விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு, வெகுதூரம் போவதற்கு முன்னே, யோசேப்பு தன் வீட்டு விசாரணைக்காரனை நோக்கி: நீ புறப்பட்டுப் போய், அந்த மனிதரைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து, அவர்களைப் பிடித்து: நீங்கள் நன்மைக்குத் தீமை செய்தது என்ன? And when they were gone out of the city, and not yet far off, Joseph said unto his steward, Up, follow after the men; and when thou dost overtake them, say unto them, Wherefore have ye rewarded evil for good?

5 அது என் எஜமான் பானம்பண்ணுகிற பாத்திரம் அல்லவா? அது போனவகை ஞானதிருஷ்டியால் அவருக்குத் தெரியாதா? நீங்கள் செய்தது தகாதகாரியம் என்று அவர்களோடே சொல் என்றான். Is not this it in which my lord drinketh, and whereby indeed he divineth? ye have done evil in so doing.

6 அவன் அவர்களைத் தொடர்ந்து பிடித்து, தன்னிடத்தில் சொல்லியிருந்த வார்த்தைகளை அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்னான். And he overtook them, and he spake unto them these same words.

7 அதற்கு அவர்கள்: எங்கள் ஆண்டவன் இப்படிப்பட்ட வார்த்தைகளைச் சொல்லுகிறது என்ன? இப்படிப்பட்ட காரியத்துக்கும் உம்முடைய அடியாராகிய எங்களுக்கும் வெகுதூரம். And they said unto him, Wherefore saith my lord these words? God forbid that thy servants should do according to this thing:

8 எங்கள் சாக்குகளின் வாயிலே நாங்கள் கண்ட பணத்தைக் கானான்தேசத்திலிருந்து திரும்ப உம்மிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்தோமே; நாங்கள் உம்முடைய எஜமானின் வீட்டிலிருந்து வெள்ளியையாகிலும் பொன்னையாகிலும் திருடிக்கொண்டு போவோமோ? Behold, the money, which we found in our sacks' mouths, we brought again unto thee out of the land of Canaan: how then should we steal out of thy lord's house silver or gold?

9 உம்முடைய அடியாருக்குள்ளே அது எவனிடத்தில் காணப்படுமோ அவன் கொலையுண்ணக்கடவன்; நாங்களும் எங்கள் ஆண்டவனுக்கு அடிமைகளாவோம் என்றார்கள். With whomsoever of thy servants it be found, both let him die, and we also will be my lord's bondmen.

10 அதற்கு அவன்: நீங்கள் சொன்னபடியே ஆகட்டும்; எவனிடத்தில் அது காணப்படுமோ, அவன் எனக்கு அடிமையாவான்; நீங்கள் குற்றமற்றிருப்பீர்கள் என்றான். And he said, Now also let it be according unto your words: he with whom it is found shall be my servant; and ye shall be blameless.

11 அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் துரிதமாய் அவனவன் தன்தன் சாக்கைத் தரையிலே இறக்கி, தங்கள் சாக்குகளைத் திறந்து வைத்தார்கள். Then they speedily took down every man his sack to the ground, and opened every man his sack.

12 மூத்தவன் சாக்குமுதல் இளையவன் சாக்குமட்டும் அவன் சோதிக்கும்போது, அந்தப் பாத்திரம் பென்யமீனுடைய சாக்கிலே கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டது. And he searched, and began at the eldest, and left at the youngest: and the cup was found in Benjamin's sack.

13 அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் தங்கள் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு, அவனவன் கழுதையின்மேல் பொதியை ஏற்றிக்கொண்டு, பட்டணத்திற்குத் திரும்பினார்கள். Then they rent their clothes, and laded every man his ass, and returned to the city.

14 யூதாவும் அவன் சகோதரரும் யோசேப்பின் வீட்டுக்குப் போனார்கள். யோசேப்பு அதுவரைக்கும் அங்கே இருந்தான்; அவனுக்கு முன்பாகத் தரையிலே விழுந்தார்கள். And Judah and his brethren came to Joseph's house; for he was yet there: and they fell before him on the ground.

15 யோசேப்பு அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் என்ன காரியம் செய்தீர்கள்? என்னைப்போலொத்த மனிதனுக்கு ஞானதிருஷ்டியினால் காரியம் தெரியவரும் என்று அறியாமற்போனீர்களா என்றான். And Joseph said unto them, What deed is this that ye have done? wot ye not that such a man as I can certainly divine?

16 அதற்கு யூதா: என் ஆண்டவனாகிய உம்மிடத்தில் நாங்கள் என்ன சொல்லுவோம்? என்னத்தைப் பேசுவோம்? எதினாலே எங்கள் நீதியை விளங்கப்பண்ணுவோம்? உம்முடைய அடியாரின் அக்கிரமத்தை தேவன் விளங்கப்பண்ணினார்; பாத்திரத்தை வைத்திருக்கிறவனும் நாங்களும் என் ஆண்டவனுக்கு அடிமைகள் என்றான். And Judah said, What shall we say unto my lord? what shall we speak? or how shall we clear ourselves? God hath found out the iniquity of thy servants: behold, we are my lord's servants, both we, and he also with whom the cup is found.

17 அதற்கு அவன்: அப்படிப்பட்ட செய்கை எனக்குத் தூரமாயிருப்பதாக; எவன் வசத்தில் பாத்திரம் கண்டுபிடிக்கப் பட்டதோ, அவனே எனக்கு அடிமையாயிருப்பான்; நீங்களோ சமாதானத்தோடே உங்கள் தகப்பனிடத்துக்குப் போங்கள் என்றான். And he said, God forbid that I should do so: but the man in whose hand the cup is found, he shall be my servant; and as for you, get you up in peace unto your father.

18 அப்பொழுது யூதா அவனண்டையிலே சேர்ந்து: ஆ, என் ஆண்டவனே, உமது அடியேன் உம்முடைய செவிகள் கேட்க ஒரு வார்த்தை சொல்லுகிறேன் கேட்பீராக; அடியேன்மேல் உமது கோபம் மூளாதிருப்பதாக; நீர் பார்வோனுக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறீர். Then Judah came near unto him, and said, Oh my lord, let thy servant, I pray thee, speak a word in my lord's ears, and let not thine anger burn against thy servant: for thou art even as Pharaoh.

19 உங்களுக்குத் தகப்பனாவது சகோதரனாவது உண்டா என்று என் ஆண்டவன் உம்முடைய அடியாரிடத்தில் கேட்டீர். My lord asked his servants, saying, Have ye a father, or a brother?

20 அதற்கு நாங்கள்: எங்களுக்கு முதிர்வயதுள்ள தகப்பனாரும், அவருக்கு முதிர்வயதிலே பிறந்த ஒரு இளைஞனும் உண்டு என்றும், அவனுடைய தமையன் இறந்துபோனான் என்றும், அவன் ஒருவன்மாத்திரமே அவனைப் பெற்ற தாயாருக்கு இருப்பதினால் தகப்பனார் அவன்மேல் பட்சமாயிருக்கிறார் என்றும் என் ஆண்டவனுக்குச் சொன்னோம். And we said unto my lord, We have a father, an old man, and a child of his old age, a little one; and his brother is dead, and he alone is left of his mother, and his father loveth him.

21 அப்பொழுது நீர்: அவனை என்னிடத்துக்குக் கொண்டுவாருங்கள்; என் கண͠ΕӠοனால் அவனைப் பார்க்கவேண்டும் என்று உமது அடியாருக்குச் சொன்னீர். And thou saidst unto thy servants, Bring him down unto me, that I may set mine eyes upon him.

22 நாங்கள் ஆண்டவனை நோக்கி: அந்த இளைஞன் தன் தகப்பனைவிட்டுப் பிரியக் கூடாது, பிரிந்தால் அவர் இறந்துபோவார் என்று சொன்னோம். And we said unto my lord, The lad cannot leave his father: for if he should leave his father, his father would die.

23 அதற்கு நீர்: உங்கள் இளைய சகோதரனைக் கொண்டுவராவிட்டால், நீங்கள் இனி என் முகத்தைக் காண்பதில்லை என்று உமது அடியாருக்குச் சொன்னீர். And thou saidst unto thy servants, Except your youngest brother come down with you, ye shall see my face no more.

24 நாங்கள் உமது அடியானாகிய என் தகப்பனாரிடத்துக்குப் போனபோது, என் ஆண்டவனுடைய வார்த்தைகளை அவருக்கு அறிவித்தோம். And it came to pass when we came up unto thy servant my father, we told him the words of my lord.

25 எங்கள் தகப்பனார் எங்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் திரும்பப்போய், நமக்குக் கொஞ்சம் தானியம் கொள்ளுங்கள் என்று சொன்னார். And our father said, Go again, and buy us a little food.

26 அதற்கு: நாங்கள் போகக் கூடாது; எங்கள் இளைய சகோதரன் எங்களோடே வந்தால் போவோம்; எங்கள் இளைய சகோதரன் எங்களோடே வராவிட்டால், நாங்கள் அந்தப் புருஷனுடைய முகத்தைக் காணக் கூடாது என்றோம். And we said, We cannot go down: if our youngest brother be with us, then will we go down: for we may not see the man's face, except our youngest brother be with us.

27 அப்பொழுது உம்முடைய அடியானாகிய என் தகப்பனார்: என் மனைவி எனக்கு இரண்டு பிள்ளைகளைப் பெற்றாள்; And thy servant my father said unto us, Ye know that my wife bare me two sons:

28 அவர்களில் ஒருவன் என்னிடத்திலிருந்து போய்விட்டான், அவன் பீறுண்டுபோயிருப்பான் என்றிருந்தேன், இதுவரைக்கும் அவனைக் காணாதிருக்கிறேன், இதெல்லாம் நீங்கள் அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்கள். And the one went out from me, and I said, Surely he is torn in pieces; and I saw him not since:

29 நீங்கள் இவனையும் என்னைவிட்டுப் பிரித்து அழைத்துப்போகுமிடத்தில் இவனுக்கு மோசம் நேரிட்டால், என் நரைமயிரை வியாகுலத்தோடே பாதாளத்தில் இறங்கப்பண்ணுவீர்கள் என்றார். And if ye take this also from me, and mischief befall him, ye shall bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.

30 ஆகையால் இளையவனை விட்டு, நான் என் தகப்பனாகிய உமது அடியானிடத்துக்குப் போனால், அவருடைய ஜீவன் இவனுடைய ஜீவனோடே ஒன்றாய் இணைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறபடியினால், Now therefore when I come to thy servant my father, and the lad be not with us; seeing that his life is bound up in the lad's life;

31 அவர் இளையவன் வரவில்லை என்று அறிந்தமாத்திரத்தில் இறந்துபோவார்; இப்படி உமது அடியாராகிய நாங்கள் உமது அடியானாகிய எங்கள் தகப்பனுடைய நரைமயிரை வியாகுலத்துடனே பாதாளத்தில் இறங்கப் பண்ணுவோம். It shall come to pass, when he seeth that the lad is not with us, that he will die: and thy servants shall bring down the gray hairs of thy servant our father with sorrow to the grave.

32 இந்த இளையவனுக்காக உமது அடியானாகிய நான் என் தகப்பனுக்கு உத்தரவாதி; அன்றியும், நான் இவனை உம்மிடத்துக்குக் கொண்டுவராவிட்டால், நான் எந்நாளும் உமக்கு முன்பாகக் குற்றவாளியாயிருப்பேன் என்று அவருக்குச் சொல்லியிருக்கிறேன். For thy servant became surety for the lad unto my father, saying, If I bring him not unto thee, then I shall bear the blame to my father for ever.

33 இப்படியிருக்க, இளையவன் தன் சகோதரரோடேகூடப் போகவிடும்படி மன்றாடுகிறேன்; உம்முடைய அடியானாகிய நான் இளையவனுக்குப் பதிலாக இங்கே என் ஆண்டவனுக்கு அடிமையாயிருக்கிறேன். Now therefore, I pray thee, let thy servant abide instead of the lad a bondman to my lord; and let the lad go up with his brethren.

34 இளையவனை விட்டு, எப்படி என் தகப்பனிடத்துக்குப் போவேன்? போனால் என் தகப்பனுக்கு நேரிடும் தீங்கை நான் எப்படிக் காண்பேன் என்றான். For how shall I go up to my father, and the lad be not with me? lest peradventure I see the evil that shall come on my father.

1 Pinpu, avan than veettu visaarannaikkaaranai Nnokki: nee intha manitharutaiya saakkukalai avarkal aettikkonndupokaththakka paaramaayth thaaniyaththinaalae nirappi, avanavan panaththai avanavan saakkin vaayilae pottu, And he commanded the steward of his house, saying, Fill the men's sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put every man's money in his sack's mouth.

2 Ilaiyavanutaiya saakkin vaayilae vellippaaththiramaakiya en paanapaaththiraththaiyum thaaniyaththukku avan koduththa panaththaiyum podu entu kattalaiyittan; yoseppu sonnapatiyae avan seythaan. And put my cup, the silver cup, in the sack's mouth of the youngest, and his corn money. And he did according to the word that Joseph had spoken.

3 Athikaalaiyilae antha manitharkal thangal kaluthaikalai ottikkonndu pokumpati anuppividappattarkal. As soon as the morning was light, the men were sent away, they and their asses.

4 Avarkal pattanaththai vittup purappattu, vekuthooram povatharku munnae, yoseppu than veettu visaarannaikkaaranai Nnokki: nee purappattup poy, antha manitharaip pinthodarnthu, avarkalaip pitiththu: neengal nanmaikkuth theemai seythathu enna? And when they were gone out of the city, and not yet far off, Joseph said unto his steward, Up, follow after the men; and when thou dost overtake them, say unto them, Wherefore have ye rewarded evil for good?

5 Athu en ejamaan paanampannnukira paaththiram allavaa? Athu ponavakai njaanathirushtiyaal avarukkuth theriyaathaa? Neengal seythathu thakaathakaariyam entu avarkalotae sol entan. Is not this it in which my lord drinketh, and whereby indeed he divineth? ye have done evil in so doing.

6 Avan avarkalaith thodarnthu pitiththu, thannidaththil solliyiruntha vaarththaikalai avarkalukkuch sonnaan. And he overtook them, and he spake unto them these same words.

7 Atharku avarkal: engal aanndavan ippatippatta vaarththaikalaich sollukirathu enna? Ippatippatta kaariyaththukkum ummutaiya atiyaaraakiya engalukkum vekuthooram. And they said unto him, Wherefore saith my lord these words? God forbid that thy servants should do according to this thing:

8 Engal saakkukalin vaayilae naangal kannda panaththaik kaanaanthaesaththilirunthu thirumpa ummidaththil konnduvanthomae; naangal ummutaiya ejamaanin veettilirunthu velliyaiyaakilum ponnaiyaakilum thirutikkonndu povomo? Behold, the money, which we found in our sacks' mouths, we brought again unto thee out of the land of Canaan: how then should we steal out of thy lord's house silver or gold?

9 Ummutaiya atiyaarukkullae athu evanidaththil kaanappadumo avan kolaiyunnnakkadavan; naangalum engal aanndavanukku atimaikalaavom entarkal. With whomsoever of thy servants it be found, both let him die, and we also will be my lord's bondmen.

10 Atharku avan: neengal sonnapatiyae aakattum; evanidaththil athu kaanappadumo, avan enakku atimaiyaavaan; neengal kuttamattiruppeerkal entan. And he said, Now also let it be according unto your words: he with whom it is found shall be my servant; and ye shall be blameless.

11 Appoluthu avarkal thurithamaay avanavan thanthan saakkaith tharaiyilae irakki, thangal saakkukalaith thiranthu vaiththaarkal. Then they speedily took down every man his sack to the ground, and opened every man his sack.

12 Mooththavan saakkumuthal ilaiyavan saakkumattum avan sothikkumpothu, anthap paaththiram penyameenutaiya saakkilae kanndupitikkappattathu. And he searched, and began at the eldest, and left at the youngest: and the cup was found in Benjamin's sack.

13 Appoluthu avarkal thangal vasthirangalaik kiliththukkonndu, avanavan kaluthaiyinmael pothiyai aettikkonndu, pattanaththirkuth thirumpinaarkal. Then they rent their clothes, and laded every man his ass, and returned to the city.

14 Yoothaavum avan sakothararum yoseppin veettukkup ponaarkal. Yoseppu athuvaraikkum angae irunthaan; avanukku munpaakath tharaiyilae vilunthaarkal. And Judah and his brethren came to Joseph's house; for he was yet there: and they fell before him on the ground.

15 Yoseppu avarkalai Nnokki: neengal enna kaariyam seytheerkal? Ennaippoloththa manithanukku njaanathirushtiyinaal kaariyam theriyavarum entu ariyaamarponeerkalaa entan. And Joseph said unto them, What deed is this that ye have done? wot ye not that such a man as I can certainly divine?

16 Atharku yoothaa: en aanndavanaakiya ummidaththil naangal enna solluvom? Ennaththaip paesuvom? Ethinaalae engal neethiyai vilangappannnuvom? Ummutaiya atiyaarin akkiramaththai Dhevan vilangappannnninaar; paaththiraththai vaiththirukkiravanum naangalum en aanndavanukku atimaikal entan. And Judah said, What shall we say unto my lord? what shall we speak? or how shall we clear ourselves? God hath found out the iniquity of thy servants: behold, we are my lord's servants, both we, and he also with whom the cup is found.

17 Atharku avan: appatippatta seykai enakkuth thooramaayiruppathaaka; evan vasaththil paaththiram kanndupitikkap pattatho, avanae enakku atimaiyaayiruppaan; neengalo samaathaanaththotae ungal thakappanidaththukkup pongal entan. And he said, God forbid that I should do so: but the man in whose hand the cup is found, he shall be my servant; and as for you, get you up in peace unto your father.

18 Appoluthu yoothaa avananntaiyilae sernthu: aa, en aanndavanae, umathu atiyaen ummutaiya sevikal kaetka oru vaarththai sollukiraேn kaetpeeraaka; atiyaenmael umathu kopam moolaathiruppathaaka; neer paarvonukku oppaayirukkireer. Then Judah came near unto him, and said, Oh my lord, let thy servant, I pray thee, speak a word in my lord's ears, and let not thine anger burn against thy servant: for thou art even as Pharaoh.

19 Ungalukkuth thakappanaavathu sakotharanaavathu unndaa entu en aanndavan ummutaiya atiyaaridaththil kaettir. My lord asked his servants, saying, Have ye a father, or a brother?

20 Atharku naangal: engalukku muthirvayathulla thakappanaarum, avarukku muthirvayathilae pirantha oru ilainjanum unndu entum, avanutaiya thamaiyan iranthuponaan entum, avan oruvanmaaththiramae avanaip petta thaayaarukku iruppathinaal thakappanaar avanmael patchamaayirukkiraar entum en aanndavanukkuch sonnom. And we said unto my lord, We have a father, an old man, and a child of his old age, a little one; and his brother is dead, and he alone is left of his mother, and his father loveth him.

21 Appoluthu neer: avanai ennidaththukkuk konnduvaarungal; en kana͠ΕӠοnaal avanaip paarkkavaenndum entu umathu atiyaarukkuch sonneer. And thou saidst unto thy servants, Bring him down unto me, that I may set mine eyes upon him.

22 Naangal aanndavanai Nnokki: antha ilainjan than thakappanaivittup piriyak koodaathu, pirinthaal avar iranthupovaar entu sonnom. And we said unto my lord, The lad cannot leave his father: for if he should leave his father, his father would die.

23 Atharku neer: ungal ilaiya sakotharanaik konnduvaraavittal, neengal ini en mukaththaik kaannpathillai entu umathu atiyaarukkuch sonneer. And thou saidst unto thy servants, Except your youngest brother come down with you, ye shall see my face no more.

24 Naangal umathu atiyaanaakiya en thakappanaaridaththukkup ponapothu, en aanndavanutaiya vaarththaikalai avarukku ariviththom. And it came to pass when we came up unto thy servant my father, we told him the words of my lord.

25 Engal thakappanaar engalai Nnokki: neengal thirumpappoy, namakkuk konjam thaaniyam kollungal entu sonnaar. And our father said, Go again, and buy us a little food.

26 Atharku: naangal pokak koodaathu; engal ilaiya sakotharan engalotae vanthaal povom; engal ilaiya sakotharan engalotae varaavittal, naangal anthap purushanutaiya mukaththaik kaanak koodaathu entom. And we said, We cannot go down: if our youngest brother be with us, then will we go down: for we may not see the man's face, except our youngest brother be with us.

27 Appoluthu ummutaiya atiyaanaakiya en thakappanaar: en manaivi enakku iranndu pillaikalaip pettaாl; And thy servant my father said unto us, Ye know that my wife bare me two sons:

28 Avarkalil oruvan ennidaththilirunthu poyvittan, avan peeraுnndupoyiruppaan entirunthaen, ithuvaraikkum avanaik kaannaathirukkiraேn, ithellaam neengal arinthirukkireerkal. And the one went out from me, and I said, Surely he is torn in pieces; and I saw him not since:

29 Neengal ivanaiyum ennaivittup piriththu alaiththuppokumidaththil ivanukku mosam naerittal, en naraimayirai viyaakulaththotae paathaalaththil irangappannnuveerkal entar. And if ye take this also from me, and mischief befall him, ye shall bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.

30 Aakaiyaal ilaiyavanai vittu, naan en thakappanaakiya umathu atiyaanidaththukkup ponaal, avarutaiya jeevan ivanutaiya jeevanotae ontay innaikkappattirukkirapatiyinaal, Now therefore when I come to thy servant my father, and the lad be not with us; seeing that his life is bound up in the lad's life;

31 Avar ilaiyavan varavillai entu arinthamaaththiraththil iranthupovaar; ippati umathu atiyaaraakiya naangal umathu atiyaanaakiya engal thakappanutaiya naraimayirai viyaakulaththudanae paathaalaththil irangap pannnuvom. It shall come to pass, when he seeth that the lad is not with us, that he will die: and thy servants shall bring down the gray hairs of thy servant our father with sorrow to the grave.

32 Intha ilaiyavanukkaaka umathu atiyaanaakiya naan en thakappanukku uththaravaathi; antiyum, naan ivanai ummidaththukkuk konnduvaraavittal, naan ennaalum umakku munpaakak kuttavaaliyaayiruppaen entu avarukkuch solliyirukkiraேn. For thy servant became surety for the lad unto my father, saying, If I bring him not unto thee, then I shall bear the blame to my father for ever.

33 Ippatiyirukka, ilaiyavan than sakothararotaekoodap pokavidumpati mantadukiraேn; ummutaiya atiyaanaakiya naan ilaiyavanukkup pathilaaka ingae en aanndavanukku atimaiyaayirukkiraேn. Now therefore, I pray thee, let thy servant abide instead of the lad a bondman to my lord; and let the lad go up with his brethren.

34 Ilaiyavanai vittu, eppati en thakappanidaththukkup povaen? Ponaal en thakappanukku naeridum theengai naan eppatik kaannpaen entan. For how shall I go up to my father, and the lad be not with me? lest peradventure I see the evil that shall come on my father.
