அப்பொழுது யூதாவின் மனுஷர் வந்து, அங்கே தாவீதை யூதா வம்சத்தாரின்மேல் ராஜாவாக அபிஷேகம்பண்ணினார்கள். கீலேயாத்தேசத்து யாபேசின் மனுஷர் சவுலை அடக்கம்பண்ணினவர்கள் என்று அவர்கள் தாவீதுக்கு அறிவித்த போது,

of Jabesh-gilead יָבֵ֣ישׁ yābēš ya-VAYSH
גִּלְעָ֔ד gilʿād ɡeel-AD
