1 அப்பொழுது அன்னாள் ஜெபம் பண்ணி: எΩ் இருதயம் கர்த்தர`Ε்குள் களிகூருகிறது; எΩ் கொΠύபு கரύத்தருக்குள் உயர்ந்திருக்கிறது; என் பகைஞரின்மேல் என் வாய் திறந்திருக்கிறது; உம்முடைய இரட்சிப்பினாலே சந்தோஷப்படுகிறேன். And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation.

2 கர்த்தரைப்போலப் பரிசுத்தமுள்ளவர் இல்லை; உம்மையல்லாமல் வேறொருவரும் இல்லை; எங்கள் தேவனைப்போல ஒரு கன்மலையும் இல்லை. There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.

3 இனி மேட்டிமையான பேச்சைப் பேசாதிருங்கள்; அகந்தையான பேச்சு உங்கள் வாயிலிருந்து புறப்படவேண்டாம்; கர்த்தர் ஞானமுள்ள தேவன்; அவர் செய்கைகள் யதார்த்தமல்லவோ? Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.

4 பலவான்களின் வில் முறிந்தது; தள்ளாடினவர்களோ பலத்தினால் இடைகட்டப்பட்டார்கள். The bows of the mighty men are broken, and they that stumbled are girded with strength.

5 திருப்தியாயிருந்தவர்கள் அப்பத்துக்காக கூலிவேலை செய்கிறார்கள்; பசியாயிருந்தவர்களோ இனிப் பசியாயிரார்கள்; மலடியாயிருந்தவள் ஏழு பெற்றாள்; அநேகம் பிள்ளைகளைப் பெற்றவளோ பலட்சயப்பட்டாள். They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry ceased: so that the barren hath born seven; and she that hath many children is waxed feeble.

6 கர்த்தர் கொல்லுகிறவரும் உயிர்ப்பிக்கிறவருமாயிருக்கிறார்; அவரே பாதாளத்தில் இறங்கவும் அதிலிருந்து ஏறவும் பண்ணுகிறவர். The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.

7 கர்த்தர் தரித்திரம் அடையச்செய்கிறவரும், ஐசுவரியம் அடையப்பண்ணுகிறவருமாயிருக்கிறார்; அவர் தாழ்த்துகிறவரும், உயர்த்துகிறவருமானவர். The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.

8 அவர் சிறியவனைப் புழுதியிலிருந்து எடுத்து, எளியவனைக் குப்பையிலிருந்து உயர்த்துகிறார்; அவர்களைப் பிரபுக்களோடே உட்காரவும், மகிமையுள்ள சிங்காசனத்தைச் சுதந்தரிக்கவும் பண்ணுகிறர்; பூமியின் அஸ்திபாரங்கள் கர்த்தருடையவைகள்; அவரே அவைகளின்மேல் பூச்சக்கரத்தை வைத்தார். He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD's, and he hath set the world upon them.

9 அவர் தமது பரிசுத்தவான்களின் பாதங்களைக் காப்பார்; துன்மார்க்கர் இருளிலே மெளனமாவார்கள்; பெலத்தினால் ஒருவனும் மேற்கொள்வதில்லை. He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.

10 கர்த்தரோடே வழக்காடுகிறவர்கள் நொறுக்கப்படுவார்கள்; வானத்திலிருந்து அவர்கள்மேல் முழங்குவார்; கர்த்தர் பூமியின் கடையாந்தரங்களை நியாயந்தீர்த்து, தாம் ஏற்படுத்தின ராஜாவுக்குப் பெலன் அளித்து, தாம் அபிஷேகம் பண்ணினவரின் கொம்பை உயரப்பண்ணுவார் என்று துதித்தாள். The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the LORD shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.

11 பின்பு எல்க்கானா ராமாவிலிருக்கிற தன் வீட்டுக்குப் போனான்; அந்தப் பிள்ளையோ, ஆசாரியனாகிய ஏலிக்கு முன்பாகக் கர்த்தருக்குப் பணிவிடை செய்துகொண்டிருந்தான். And Elkanah went to Ramah to his house. And the child did minister unto the LORD before Eli the priest.

12 ஏலியின் குமாரர் பேலியாளின் மக்களாயிருந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் கர்த்தரை அறியவில்லை. Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not the LORD.

13 அந்த ஆசாரியர்கள் ஜனங்களை நடப்பித்த விதம் என்னவென்றால், எவனாகிலும் ஒரு பலியைச் செலுத்துங்காலத்தில் இறைச்சி வேகும்போது, ஆசாரியனுடைய வேலைக்காரன் மூன்று கூறுள்ள ஒரு ஆயுதத்தைத் தன் கையிலே பிடித்துவந்து, And the priest's custom with the people was, that, when any man offered sacrifice, the priest's servant came, while the flesh was in seething, with a fleshhook of three teeth in his hand;

14 அதினாலே, கொப்பரையிலாவது பானையிலாவது சருவத்திலாவது சட்டியிலாவது குத்துவான்; அந்த ஆயுதத்தில் வருகிறதையெல்லாம் ஆசாரியன் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளுவான்; அப்படி அங்கே சீலோவிலே வருகிற இஸ்ரவேலருக்கெல்லாம் செய்தார்கள். And he struck it into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; all that the fleshhook brought up the priest took for himself. So they did in Shiloh unto all the Israelites that came thither.

15 கொழுப்பைத் தகனிக்கிறதற்கு முன்னும், ஆசாரியனுடைய வேலைக்காரன் வந்து பலியிடுகிற மனுஷனை நோக்கி: ஆசாரியனுக்குப் பொரிக்கும்படி இறைச்சிகொடு; பச்சை இறைச்சியே அல்லாமல், அவித்ததை உன்கையிலே வாங்குகிறதில்லை என்பான். Also before they burnt the fat, the priest's servant came, and said to the man that sacrificed, Give flesh to roast for the priest; for he will not have sodden flesh of thee, but raw.

16 அதற்கு அந்த மனுஷன்: இன்று செய்யவேண்டியபடி முதலாவது கொழுப்பைத் தகனித்துவிடட்டும்; பிற்பாடு உன் மனவிருப்பத்தின்படி எடுத்துக்கொள் என்று சொன்னாலும்; அவன்: அப்படியல்ல, இப்பொழுதே கொடு, இல்லாவிட்டால் பலவந்தமாய் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளுவேன் என்பான். And if any man said unto him, Let them not fail to burn the fat presently, and then take as much as thy soul desireth; then he would answer him, Nay; but thou shalt give it me now: and if not, I will take it by force.

17 ஆதலால் அந்த வாலிபரின் பாவம் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் மிகவும் பெரிதாயிருந்தது; மனுஷர் கர்த்தரின் காணிக்கையை வெறுப்பாய் எண்ணினார்கள். Wherefore the sin of the young men was very great before the LORD: for men abhorred the offering of the LORD.

18 சாமுவேல் என்னும் பிள்ளையாண்டான் சணல் நூல் ஏபோத்தைத் தரித்தவனாய்க் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாகப் பணிவிடை செய்தான். But Samuel ministered before the LORD, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.

19 அவனுடைய தாய் வருஷந்தோறும் செலுத்தும் பலியைச் செலுத்துகிறதற்காக, தன் புருஷனோடேகூட வருகிறபோதெல்லாம், அவனுக்கு ஒரு சின்னச் சட்டையைத் தைத்துக் கொண்டு வருவாள். Moreover his mother made him a little coat, and brought it to him from year to year, when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.

And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The LORD give thee seed of this woman for the loan which is lent to the LORD. And they went unto their own home.

And the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the LORD.

22 ஏலி மிகுந்த கிழவனாயிருந்தான்; அவன் தன் குமாரர் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கெல்லாம் செய்கிற எல்லாவற்றையும், அவர்கள் ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்தின் வாசலில் கூட்டங்கூடுகிற ஸ்திரீகளோடே சயனிக்கிறதையும் கேள்விப்பட்டு, Now Eli was very old, and heard all that his sons did unto all Israel; and how they lay with the women that assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

23 அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் இப்படிப்பட்ட காரியங்களைச் செய்கிறது என்ன? இந்த ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் உங்கள் பொல்லாத நடக்கைகளைச் சொல்லக்கேட்கிறேன். And he said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings by all this people.

24 என் குமாரரே, வேண்டாம்; நான் கேள்விப்படுகிற இந்தச் செய்தி நல்லதல்ல; கர்த்தருடைய ஜனங்கள் மீறி நடக்கிறதற்குக் காரணமாயிருக்கிறீர்களே. Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the LORD's people to transgress.

25 மனுஷனுக்கு விரோதமாக மனுஷன் பாவஞ்செய்தால், நியாயாதிபதிகள் அதைத் தீர்ப்பார்கள்; ஒருவன் கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவஞ்செய்வானேயாகில், அவனுக்காக விண்ணப்பஞ்செய்யத்தக்கவன் யார் என்றான்; அவர்களோ தங்கள் தகப்பன் சொல்லைக் கேளாமற்போனார்கள்; அவர்களைச் சங்கரிக்கக் கர்த்தர் சித்தமாயிருந்தார். If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the LORD, who shall entreat for him? Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, because the LORD would slay them.

26 சாமுவேல் என்னும் பிள்ளையாண்டானோ, பெரியவனாக வளர்ந்து, கர்த்தருக்கும் மனுஷருக்கும் பிரியமாக நடந்துகொண்டான். And the child Samuel grew on, and was in favor both with the LORD, and also with men.

27 தேவனுடைய மனுஷன் ஒருவன் ஏலியினிடத்தில் வந்து: கர்த்தர் உரைக்கிறது என்னவென்றால், உன் பிதாவின் வீட்டார் எகிப்திலே பார்வோனின் வீட்டில் இருக்கையில், நான் என்னை அவர்களுக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தி, And there came a man of God unto Eli, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Did I plainly appear unto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt in Pharaoh's house?

28 என் பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் பலியிடவும், தூபங்காட்டவும், என் சமுகத்தில் ஏபோத்தைத் தரிக்கவும், இஸ்ரவேல் கோத்திரங்களிலெல்லாம் அவனை எனக்கு ஆசாரியனாகத் தெரிந்துகொண்டு, உன் பிதாவின் வீட்டாருக்கு இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருடைய தகனபலிகளையெல்லாம் கொடுக்கவில்லையா? And did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to offer upon mine altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? and did I give unto the house of thy father all the offerings made by fire of the children of Israel?

29 என் வாசஸ்தலத்திலே செலுத்தும்படி நான் கட்டளையிட்ட என் பலியையும், என் காணிக்கையையும், நீங்கள் உதைப்பானேன்? என் ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலின் காணிக்கைகளிலெல்லாம் பிரதானமானவைகளைக் கொண்டு உங்களைக் கொழுக்கப்பண்ணும்படிக்கு, நீ என்னைப்பார்க்கிலும் உன் குமாரரை மதிப்பானேன் என்கிறார். Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation; and honorest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people?

30 ஆகையால் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறதாவது: உன் வீட்டாரும் உன் பிதாவின் வீட்டாரும் என்றைக்கும் என் சந்நிதியில் நடந்து கொள்வார்கள் என்று நான் நிச்சயமாய்ச் சொல்லியிருந்தும், இனி அது எனக்குத் தூரமாயிருப்பதாக; என்னைக் கனம்பண்ணுகிறவர்களை நான் கனம் பண்ணுவேன்; என்னை அசட்டை பண்ணுகிறவர்கள் கனஈனப்படுவார்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார். Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honor me I will honor, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

31 உன் வீட்டில் ஒரு கிழவனும் இராதபடிக்கு உன் புயத்தையும் உன் பிதாவின் வீட்டாருடைய புயத்தையும் நான் தறித்துப்போடும் நாட்கள் வரும். Behold, the days come, that I will cut off thine arm, and the arm of thy father's house, that there shall not be an old man in thine house.

32 இஸ்ரவேலுக்குச் செய்யப்படும் சகல நன்மைகளுக்கும் மாறாக என் வாசஸ்தலத்திலே உபத்திரவத்தைக் காண்பாய்; ஒருபோதும் உன் வீட்டில் ஒரு கிழவனும் இருப்பதில்லை. And thou shalt see an enemy in my habitation, in all the wealth which God shall give Israel: and there shall not be an old man in thine house for ever.

33 என் பலிபீடத்தில் சேவிக்க, நான் உன் சந்ததியில் நிர்மூலமாக்காதவர்களோ, உன் கண்களைப் பூத்துப்போகப் பண்ணவும், உன் ஆத்துமாவை வேதனைப்படுத்தவும் வைக்கப்படுவார்கள்; உன் வம்சத்திலுள்ள யாவரும் வாலவயதிலே சாவார்கள். And the man of thine, whom I shall not cut off from mine altar, shall be to consume thine eyes, and to grieve thine heart: and all the increase of thine house shall die in the flower of their age.

34 ஓப்னி பினெகாஸ் என்னும் உன் இரண்டு குமாரரின்மேல் வருவதே உனக்கு அடையாளமாயிருக்கும்; அவர்கள் இருவரும் ஒரேநாளில் சாவார்கள். And this shall be a sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas; in one day they shall die both of them.

35 நான் என் உள்ளத்துக்கும் என் சித்தத்துக்கும் ஏற்றபடி செய்யத்தக்க உண்மையான ஒரு ஆசாரியனை எழும்பப்பண்ணி, அவனுக்கு நிலையான வீட்டைக் கட்டுவேன்; அவன் என்னால் அபிஷேகம் பண்ணப்பட்டவனுக்கு முன்பாகச் சகல நாளும் நடந்துகொள்ளுவான். And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.

36 அப்பொழுது உன் வீட்டாரில் மீதியாயிருப்பவன் எவனும் ஒரு வெள்ளிப்பணத்துக்காகவும் ஒரு அப்பத்துணிக்கைக்காகவும் அவனிடத்தில் வந்து பணிந்து: நான் கொஞ்சம் அப்பம் சாப்பிட யாதொரு ஆசாரிய ஊழியத்தில் என்னைச் சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளும் என்று கெஞ்சுவான் என்று சொல்லுகிறார் என்றான். And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left in thine house shall come and crouch to him for a piece of silver and a morsel of bread, and shall say, Put me, I pray thee, into one of the priests' offices, that I may eat a piece of bread.

1 Appoluthu annaal Jebam pannnni: eΩ் iruthayam karththara`Ε்kul kalikoorukirathu; eΩ் koΠύpu karaύththarukkul uyarnthirukkirathu; en pakainjarinmael en vaay thiranthirukkirathu; ummutaiya iratchippinaalae santhoshappadukiraேn. 2 Karththaraippolap Parisuththamullavar illai; ummaiyallaamal vaeroruvarum illai; engal thaevanaippola oru kanmalaiyum illai. There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.

3 Ini maettimaiyaana paechchaைp paesaathirungal; akanthaiyaana paechchu ungal vaayilirunthu purappadavaenndaam; Karththar njaanamulla Dhevan; avar seykaikal yathaarththamallavo? 5 Thirupthiyaayirunthavarkal appaththukkaaka koolivaelai seykiraarkal; pasiyaayirunthavarkalo inip pasiyaayiraarkal; malatiyaayirunthaval aelu pettaாl; anaekam pillaikalaip pettavalo palatchayappattal. They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry ceased: so that the barren hath born seven; and she that hath many children is waxed feeble.

6 Karththar kollukiravarum uyirppikkiravarumaayirukkiraar; avarae paathaalaththil irangavum athilirunthu aeravum pannnukiravar. The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.

7 Karththar thariththiram ataiyachcheykiravarum, aisuvariyam ataiyappannnukiravarumaayirukkiraar; avar thaalththukiravarum, uyarththukiravarumaanavar. The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.

8 Avar siriyavanaip puluthiyilirunthu eduththu, eliyavanaik kuppaiyilirunthu uyarththukiraar; avarkalaip pirapukkalotae utkaaravum, makimaiyulla singaasanaththaich suthantharikkavum pannnukirar; poomiyin asthipaarangal karththarutaiyavaikal; avarae avaikalinmael poochchakkaraththai vaiththaar. 10 Karththarotae valakkaadukiravarkal noraுkkappaduvaarkal; vaanaththilirunthu avarkalmael mulanguvaar; Karththar poomiyin kataiyaantharangalai niyaayantheerththu, thaam aerpaduththina raajaavukkup pelan aliththu, thaam apishaekam pannnninavarin kompai uyarappannnuvaar entu thuthiththaal. 11 Pinpu elkkaanaa raamaavilirukkira than veettukkup ponaan; anthap pillaiyo, aasaariyanaakiya aelikku munpaakak karththarukkup pannivitai seythukonntirunthaan. And Elkanah went to Ramah to his house. And the child did minister unto the LORD before Eli the priest.

12 Aeliyin kumaarar paeliyaalin makkalaayirunthaarkal; avarkal karththarai ariyavillai. Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not the LORD.

13 Antha aasaariyarkal janangalai nadappiththa vitham ennavental, evanaakilum oru paliyaich seluththungaalaththil iraichchi vaekumpothu, aasaariyanutaiya vaelaikkaaran moontu kooraுlla oru aayuthaththaith than kaiyilae pitiththuvanthu, And the priest's custom with the people was, that, when any man offered sacrifice, the priest's servant came, while the flesh was in seething, with a fleshhook of three teeth in his hand;

14 Athinaalae, kopparaiyilaavathu paanaiyilaavathu saruvaththilaavathu sattiyilaavathu kuththuvaan; antha aayuthaththil varukirathaiyellaam aasaariyan eduththukkolluvaan; appati angae seelovilae varukira isravaelarukkellaam seythaarkal. 15 Koluppaith thakanikkiratharku munnum, aasaariyanutaiya vaelaikkaaran vanthu paliyidukira manushanai Nnokki: aasaariyanukkup porikkumpati iraichchikodu; pachchaை iraichchiyae allaamal, aviththathai unkaiyilae vaangukirathillai enpaan. Also before they burnt the fat, the priest's servant came, and said to the man that sacrificed, Give flesh to roast for the priest; for he will not have sodden flesh of thee, but raw.

16 Atharku antha manushan: intu seyyavaenntiyapati muthalaavathu koluppaith thakaniththuvidattum; pirpaadu un manaviruppaththinpati eduththukkol entu sonnaalum; avan: appatiyalla, ippoluthae kodu, illaavittal palavanthamaay eduththukkolluvaen enpaan. And if any man said unto him, Let them not fail to burn the fat presently, and then take as much as thy soul desireth; then he would answer him, Nay; but thou shalt give it me now: and if not, I will take it by force.

17 Aathalaal antha vaaliparin paavam karththarutaiya sannithiyil mikavum perithaayirunthathu; manushar karththarin kaannikkaiyai veraுppaay ennnninaarkal. Wherefore the sin of the young men was very great before the LORD: for men abhorred the offering of the LORD.

18 Saamuvael ennum pillaiyaanndaan sanal nool aepoththaith thariththavanaayk karththarukku munpaakap pannivitai seythaan. But Samuel ministered before the LORD, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.

19 Avanutaiya thaay varushanthoraுm seluththum paliyaich seluththukiratharkaaka, than purushanotaekooda varukirapothellaam, avanukku oru sinnach sattaைyaith thaiththuk konndu varuvaal. Moreover his mother made him a little coat, and brought it to him from year to year, when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.

20 Aeli elkkaanaavaiyum avan manaiviyaiyum aaseervathiththu: intha sthiree karththarukkentu oppukkoduththatharkup pathilaakak Karththar unakku avalaalae santhaanam kattalaiyiduvaaraaka entan; avarkal thangal sthaanaththirkuth thirumpap poyvittarkal. If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the LORD, who shall entreat for him? Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, because the LORD would slay them.

26 Saamuvael ennum pillaiyaanndaano, periyavanaaka valarnthu, karththarukkum manusharukkum piriyamaaka nadanthukonndaan. And the child Samuel grew on, and was in favor both with the LORD, and also with men.

27 Thaevanutaiya manushan oruvan aeliyinidaththil vanthu: Karththar uraikkirathu ennavental, un pithaavin veettar ekipthilae paarvonin veettil irukkaiyil, naan ennai avarkalukku velippaduththi, And there came a man of God unto Eli, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Did I plainly appear unto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt in Pharaoh's house?

29 En vaasasthalaththilae seluththumpati naan kattalaiyitta en paliyaiyum, en kaannikkaiyaiyum, neengal uthaippaanaen? En janamaakiya isravaelin kaannikkaikalilellaam pirathaanamaanavaikalaik konndu ungalaik kolukkappannnumpatikku, nee ennaippaarkkilum un kumaararai mathippaanaen enkiraar. Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation; and honorest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people?

30 Aakaiyaal isravaelin thaevanaakiya Karththar sollukirathaavathu: un veettarum un pithaavin veettarum entaikkum en sannithiyil nadanthu kolvaarkal entu naan nichchayamaaych solliyirunthum, ini athu enakkuth thooramaayiruppathaaka; ennaik kanampannnukiravarkalai naan kanam pannnuvaen; ennai asattaை pannnukiravarkal kanaeenappaduvaarkal entu Karththar sollukiraar. Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honor me I will honor, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

31 Un veettil oru kilavanum iraathapatikku un puyaththaiyum un pithaavin veettarutaiya puyaththaiyum naan thariththuppodum naatkal varum. Behold, the days come, that I will cut off thine arm, and the arm of thy father's house, that there shall not be an old man in thine house.

32 Isravaelukkuch seyyappadum sakala nanmaikalukkum maaraaka en vaasasthalaththilae upaththiravaththaik kaannpaay; orupothum un veettil oru kilavanum iruppathillai. And thou shalt see an enemy in my habitation, in all the wealth which God shall give Israel: and there shall not be an old man in thine house for ever.

33 En palipeedaththil sevikka, naan un santhathiyil nirmoolamaakkaathavarkalo, un kannkalaip pooththuppokap pannnavum, un aaththumaavai vaethanaippaduththavum vaikkappaduvaarkal; un vamsaththilulla yaavarum vaalavayathilae saavaarkal. And the man of thine, whom I shall not cut off from mine altar, shall be to consume thine eyes, and to grieve thine heart: and all the increase of thine house shall die in the flower of their age.

34 Opni pinekaas ennum un iranndu kumaararinmael varuvathae unakku ataiyaalamaayirukkum; avarkal iruvarum oraenaalil saavaarkal. And this shall be a sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas; in one day they shall die both of them.

35 Naan en ullaththukkum en siththaththukkum aettapati seyyaththakka unnmaiyaana oru aasaariyanai elumpappannnni, avanukku nilaiyaana veettaைk kattuvaen; avan ennaal apishaekam pannnappattavanukku munpaakach sakala naalum nadanthukolluvaan. And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.

36 Appoluthu un veettaril meethiyaayiruppavan evanum oru vellippanaththukkaakavum oru appaththunnikkaikkaakavum avanidaththil vanthu panninthu: naan konjam appam saappida yaathoru aasaariya ooliyaththil ennaich serththukkollum entu kenjuvaan entu sollukiraar entan. And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left in thine house shall come and crouch to him for a piece of silver and a morsel of bread, and shall say, Put me, I pray thee, into one of the priests' offices, that I may eat a piece of bread.
