அப்பொழுது அவன் தன் வேலைக்காரரைப் பார்த்து: இதோ என் நிலத்திற்கு அருகே யோவாபின் நிலம் இருக்கிறது; அதிலே அவனுக்கு வாற்கோதுமை விளைந்திருக்கிறது; நீங்கள் போய் அதைத் தீக்கொளுத்திப்போடுங்கள் என்றான்; அப்படியே அப்சலோமின் வேலைக்காரர் அந்த நிலத்தை தீக்கொளுத்திப்போட்டார்கள்.

அப்பொழுது அவன் தன்னுடைய வேலைக்காரர்களைப் பார்த்து: இதோ என்னுடைய நிலத்திற்கு அருகில் யோவாபின் நிலம் இருக்கிறது; அதிலே அவனுக்கு வாற்கோதுமை விளைந்திருக்கிறது; நீங்கள் போய் அதிலே தீயைக்கொளுத்திப் போடுங்கள் என்றான்; அப்படியே அப்சலோமின் வேலைக்காரர்கள் அந்த நிலத்தில் தீயைக் கொளுத்திப்போட்டார்கள்.

அப்போது அப்சலோம் தனது வேலையாட்களிடம், “பாருங்கள், யோவாபின் வயல் எனது வயலுக்கு அருகிலுள்ளது. அவனது வயலில் பார்லியைப் பயிரிட்டிருக்கிறான். போய் அந்த பார்லி பயிரை எரித்துவிடுங்கள்” என்றான். எனவே அப்சலோமின் வேலையாட்கள் போய் யோவாபின் வயலுக்கு நெருப்புமூட்டினர்.

Appoluthu avan than vaelaikkaararaip paarththu: itho en nilaththirku arukae yovaapin nilam irukkirathu; athilae avanukku vaarkothumai vilainthirukkirathu; neengal poy athaith theekkoluththippodungal entan; appatiyae apsalomin vaelaikkaarar antha nilaththai theekkoluththippottarkal.
