நான் இஸ்ரவேலைத் தள்ளிவிட்டது போல யூதாவையும் என் முகத்தை விட்டுத் தள்ளி, நான் தெரிந்துகொண்ட இந்த எருசலேம் நகரத்தையும், என் நாமம் விளங்கும் என்று நான் சொன்ன ஆலயத்தையும் வெறுத்துவிடுவேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொன்னார்.

கர்த்தர், “நான் இந்த நாட்டிலிருந்து இஸ்ரவேலர்களை அகற்றிவிட்டேன். இதையே யூதர்களுக்கும் செய்வேன். அவர்களை என் பார்வையிலிருந்து அப்புறப்படுத்துவேன். என்னால் எருசலேமை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள முடியாது. ஆம் நான் எருசலேமைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்தேன். ஆனால் அங்குள்ள ஆலயத்தை நான் அழிப்பேன். ‘என் பெயர் அங்கு இருக்கவேண்டும்’ என்று நான் சொன்ன போது குறிபிட்டது இந்த இடத்தை தான்” என்றார்.
