இந்த மனுஷர் வேலையை உண்மையாய்ச் செய்தார்கள்; வேலையை நடத்த மெராரியின் புத்திரரில் யாகாத் ஒபதியா என்னும் லேவியரும், கோகாதியரின் புத்திரரில் சகரியாவும், மெசுல்லாமும் அவர்கள்மேல் விசாரிப்புக்காரராயிருந்தார்கள்; இந்த லேவியர் எல்லாரும் கீதவாத்தியங்களை வாசிக்க அறிந்தவர்கள்.

எல்லா ஆட்களும் உண்மையாக உழைத்தார்கள் யாகாத்தும், ஒபதியாவும் அவர்களின் மேற்பார்வையாளர்கள். இவர்கள் லேவியர்கள். இவர்கள் மெராரியின் சந்ததியினர். சகரியாவும் மெசுல்லாமும் மேற்பார்வையாளர்கள்தான். இவர்கள் கோகாத்தின் சந்ததியினர். இசைக்கருவிகளை இயக்குவதில் திறமை பெற்ற லேவியர்கள் வேலைச்செய்பவர்களை மேற்பார்வை பார்ப்பதும் மற்ற வேலைகளைச் செய்வதுமாய் இருந்தனர். சில லேவியர்கள் செயலாளர்களாகவும், அதிகாரிகளாகவும் வாயிற் காவலர்களாகவும் இருந்தனர்.
