தானும் தன் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கழற்றிப்போட்டு, சாமுவேலுக்கு முன்பாகத் தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்லி, அன்று பகல் முழுவதும் இராமுழுவதும் வஸ்திரம் இல்லாமல் விழுந்துகிடந்தான்; ஆகையினாலே சவுலும் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளில் ஒருவனோ என்பார்கள்.

சவுலும் தன் ஆடைகளை கழற்றிப் போட்டு சாமுவேலுக்கு முன்பாக தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்லி இரவும் பகலும் ஆடையில்லாமல் கிடந்தான். எனவேதான், “சவுலும் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளில் ஒருவனா?” என்று ஜனங்கள் கூறுகின்றனர்.

அவரும் தம் மேலுடையைக் களைந்துவிட்டு சாமுவேலின் முன் அவரும் இறைவாக்குரைத்தார். அன்று பகல் இரவு முழுவதும் ஆடையணியாமல் விழுந்து கிடந்தார். அதனால் தான், ‘சவுலும் இறைவாக்கினருள் ஒருவனோ?’ என்ற சொல் வழங்கலாயிற்று!

Thaanum than vasthirangalaik kalattippottu, saamuvaelukku munpaakath theerkkatharisanam solli, antu pakal muluvathum iraamuluvathum vasthiram illaamal vilunthukidanthaan; aakaiyinaalae savulum theerkkatharisikalil oruvano enpaarkal.
