Absalom persuades Joab to come and see for himself - யோவாபுக்கு அப்சலோம் தன்னை வந்து பார்க்குமாறு வற்புறுத்தல்
2 Samuel 14:28-32
அப்சலோம், ராஜாவின் முகத்தைக்காணாமலே இரண்டு வருஷம் எருசலேமிலே குடியிருந்தான்.
So Absalom dwelt two full years in Jerusalem, and saw not the king's face.
ஆகையால் அப்சலோம் யோவாபை ராஜாவினிடத்தில் அனுப்பும்படி அழைப்பித்தான், அவனோ அவனிடத்திற்கு வரமாட்டேன் என்றான்; இரண்டாம்விசையும் அவன் அழைத்தனுப்பினான்; அவன் வரமாட்டேன் என்றான்.
Therefore Absalom sent for Joab, to have sent him to the king; but he would not come to him: and when he sent again the second time, he would not come.
அப்பொழுது அவன் தன் வேலைக்காரரைப் பார்த்து: இதோ என் நிலத்திற்கு அருகே யோவாபின் நிலம் இருக்கிறது; அதிலே அவனுக்கு வாற்கோதுமை விளைந்திருக்கிறது; நீங்கள் போய் அதைத் தீக்கொளுத்திப்போடுங்கள் என்றான்; அப்படியே அப்சலோமின் வேலைக்காரர் அந்த நிலத்தை தீக்கொளுத்திப்போட்டார்கள்.
Therefore he said unto his servants, See, Joab's field is near mine, and he hath barley there; go and set it on fire. And Absalom's servants set the field on fire.
அப்பொழுது யோவாப் எழுந்திருந்து, அப்சலோமிடத்தில் வீட்டிற்குள்போய், என்னுடைய நிலத்தையும் உம்முடைய வேலைக்காரர் தீக்கொளுத்திப்போட்டது என்ன என்று அவனைக் கேட்டான்.
Then Joab arose, and came to Absalom unto his house, and said unto him, Wherefore have thy servants set my field on fire?
அப்சலோம் யோவாபைப் பார்த்து: இதோ, நான் ஏன் கேசூரிலிருந்து வந்தேன்; நான் அங்கே இருந்துவிட்டால் நலம் என்று ராஜாவுக்குச் சொல்லும்படி உம்மை ராஜாவினிடத்தில் அனுப்புவதற்காக உம்மை இங்கே வரும்படி அழைப்பித்தேன், இப்போதும் நான் ராஜாவின்முகத்தைப் பார்க்கட்டும்; என்மேல் குற்றமிருந்தால் அவர் என்னைக் கொன்றுபோடட்டும் என்றான்.
And Absalom answered Joab, Behold, I sent unto thee, saying, Come hither, that I may send thee to the king, to say, Wherefore am I come from Geshur? it had been good for me to have been there still: now therefore let me see the king's face; and if there be any iniquity in me, let him kill me.
