யாக்கோபு 2:23
அப்படியே ஆபிரகாம் தேவனை விசுவாசித்தான், அது அவனுக்கு நீதியாக எண்ணப்பட்டது என்கிற வேதவாக்கியம் நிறைவேறிற்று; அவன் தேவனுடைய சிநேகிதனென்னப்பட்டான்.

அப்படியே ஆபிரகாம் தேவனை விசுவாசித்தான், அது அவனுக்கு நீதியாக எண்ணப்பட்டது என்கிற வேதவாக்கியம் நிறைவேறியது; அவன் தேவனுடைய நண்பன் எனப்பட்டான்.

எனவே “ஆபிரகாம் தேவனை நம்பினான். அது அவனை நீதிமானாக்கியது” என்கிற பகுதிக்கு இது முழுமையான பொருளைத் தருகிறது. மேலும் இதனால்தான் “தேவனின் நண்பன்” என்று அவன் அழைக்கப்பட்டான்.
