ஏசாயா 22:2
சந்தடிகளால் நிறைந்து ஆரவாரம்பண்ணி, களிகூர்ந்திருந்த நகரமே, உன்னிடத்தில் கொலையுண்டவர்கள் பட்டயத்தால் கொலையுண்டதில்லை, யுத்தத்தில் செத்ததும் இல்லை.

ஆட்கள் நடமாட்டம் நிறைந்து ஆரவாரம்செய்து, களிகூர்ந்திருந்த நகரமே, உன்னிடத்தில் கொலை செய்யப்பட்டவர்கள் பட்டயத்தால் கொலை செய்யப்படவில்லை, போரில் இறந்ததும் இல்லை.

கடந்த காலத்தில் இந்நகரம் பரபரப்புடைய நகரமாக இருந்தது. இந்த நகரம் ஆரவாரமும் மகிழ்ச்சியும் உடையதாக இருந்தது. ஆனால் இப்போது அவை மாறியுள்ளன. உனது ஜனங்கள் கொல்லப்பட்டிருக்கலாம் ஆனால் வாள்களினால் அல்ல. ஜனங்கள் மரித்தனர். ஆனால் போரிடும்போது அல்ல.

city, עִ֚יר ʿîr eer
a tumultuous הֽוֹמִיָּ֔ה hāmâ ha-MA
city: קִרְיָ֖ה qiryâ keer-YA
a joyous עַלִּיזָ֑ה ʿallîz ah-LEEZ
thy slain חֲלָלַ֙יִךְ֙ ḥālāl ha-LAHL
not לֹ֣א lōʾ loh
slain חַלְלֵי ḥālāl ha-LAHL
with the sword, חֶ֔רֶב ḥereb heh-REV
nor וְלֹ֖א lōʾ loh
dead מֵתֵ֥י mût moot
