எப்படியென்றால், விபசாரம் செய்யாதிருப்பாயாக, கொலை செய்யாதிருப்பாயாக, களவு செய்யாதிருப்பாயாக, பொய்ச்சாட்சி சொல்லாதிருப்பாயாக, இச்சியாதிருப்பாயாக என்கிற இந்தக்கற்பனைகளும், வேறே எந்தக் கற்பனையும், உன்னிடத்தில் நீ அன்புகூருகிறதுபோலப் பிறனிடத்திலும் அன்புகூருவாயாக என்கிற ஒரே வார்த்தையிலே தொகையாய் அடங்கியிருக்கிறது.

இவற்றையெல்லாம் நான் எதற்காகக் கூறுகிறேன் என்றால் “விபசாரம் செய்யாதிருங்கள். கொலை செய்யாதிருங்கள். களவு செய்யாதிருங்கள். அடுத்தவர்க்கு உரிய பொருட்களை விரும்ப வேண்டாம்.” சட்டவிதி இவற்றைச் சொல்கிறது. இவை எல்லா கட்டளைகளும், “தன்னை தானே நேசித்துக்கொள்வது போலவே ஒருவன் அடுத்தவனையும் நேசிக்க வேண்டும்” என்று ஒரு விதியையே சொல்கின்றன.
