  2. רֹ֘עֵ֤ה O Shepherd rāʿâ יִשְׂרָאֵ֨ל׀ of Israel, yiśrāʾēl הַאֲזִ֗ינָה Give ear, ʾāzan נֹהֵ֣ג thou that leadest nāhag כַּצֹּ֣אן like a flock; ṣōn יוֹסֵ֑ף Joseph yôsēp יֹשֵׁ֖ב thou that dwellest yāšab הַכְּרוּבִ֣ים the cherubims, kĕrûb הוֹפִֽיעָה׃ shine forth. yāpaʿ
  3. לִפְנֵ֤י Before pānîm אֶפְרַ֨יִם׀ Ephraim ʾeprayim וּבִנְיָ֘מִ֤ן and Benjamin binyāmîn וּמְנַשֶּׁ֗ה and Manasseh mĕnašše עוֹרְרָ֥ה stir up ʿûr אֶת ʾēt גְּבֽוּרָתֶ֑ךָ thy strength, gĕbûrâ וּלְכָ֖ה and come hālak לִישֻׁעָ֣תָה save us. yĕšûʿâ לָּֽנוּ׃
  4. אֱלֹהִ֥ים O God, ʾĕlōhîm הֲשִׁיבֵ֑נוּ Turn us again, šûb וְהָאֵ֥ר to shine; ʾôr פָּ֝נֶ֗יךָ and cause thy face pānîm וְנִוָּשֵֽׁעָה׃ and we shall be saved. yāšaʿ
  5. יְהוָ֣ה O Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹהִ֣ים God ʾĕlōhîm צְבָא֑וֹת of hosts, ṣābāʾ עַד how long ʿad מָתַ֥י mātay עָ֝שַׁ֗נְתָּ wilt thou be angry ʿāšan בִּתְפִלַּ֥ת against the prayer tĕpillâ עַמֶּֽךָ׃ of thy people? ʿam
  6. הֶ֭אֱכַלְתָּם Thou feedest ʾākal לֶ֣חֶם them with the bread leḥem דִּמְעָ֑ה of tears; dimʿâ וַ֝תַּשְׁקֵ֗מוֹ to drink šāqâ בִּדְמָע֥וֹת and givest them tears dimʿâ שָׁלִֽישׁ׃ in great measure. šālîš
  7. תְּשִׂימֵ֣נוּ Thou makest śûm מָ֭דוֹן us a strife mādôn לִשְׁכֵנֵ֑ינוּ unto our neighbours: šākēn וְ֝אֹיְבֵ֗ינוּ and our enemies ʾōyēb יִלְעֲגוּ laugh among themselves. lāʿag לָֽמוֹ׃
  8. אֱלֹהִ֣ים O God ʾĕlōhîm צְבָא֣וֹת of hosts, ṣābāʾ הֲשִׁיבֵ֑נוּ Turn us again, šûb וְהָאֵ֥ר to shine; ʾôr פָּ֝נֶ֗יךָ and cause thy face pānîm וְנִוָּשֵֽׁעָה׃ and we shall be saved. yāšaʿ
  9. גֶּ֭פֶן a vine gepen מִמִּצְרַ֣יִם out of Egypt: miṣrayim תַּסִּ֑יעַ Thou hast brought nāsaʿ תְּגָרֵ֥שׁ thou hast cast out gāraš גּ֝וֹיִ֗ם the heathen, gôy וַתִּטָּעֶֽהָ׃ and planted it. nāṭaʿ
  10. פִּנִּ֥יתָ Thou preparedst pānâ לְפָנֶ֑יהָ before pānîm וַתַּשְׁרֵ֥שׁ root, šāraš שָׁ֝רָשֶׁ֗יהָ it, and didst cause it to take deep šereš וַתְּמַלֵּא and it filled mālēʾ אָֽרֶץ׃ the land. ʾereṣ
  11. כָּסּ֣וּ were covered kāsâ הָרִ֣ים The hills har צִלָּ֑הּ with the shadow ṣēl וַ֝עֲנָפֶ֗יהָ of it, and the boughs ʿānāp אַֽרְזֵי cedars. ʾerez אֵֽל׃ thereof the goodly ʾēl
  12. תְּשַׁלַּ֣ח She sent out šālaḥ קְצִירֶ֣הָ her boughs qāṣîr עַד unto ʿad יָ֑ם the sea, yām וְאֶל unto ʾēl נָ֝הָ֗ר the river. nāhār יֽוֹנְקוֹתֶֽיהָ׃ and her branches yôneqet
  13. לָ֭מָּה Why פָּרַ֣צְתָּ hast thou broken down pāraṣ גְדֵרֶ֑יהָ her hedges, gādēr וְ֝אָר֗וּהָ do pluck her? ʾārâ כָּל so that all kōl עֹ֥בְרֵי they which pass by ʿābar דָֽרֶךְ׃ the way derek
  14. יְכַרְסְמֶ֣נָּֽה doth waste kirsēm חֲזִ֣יר The boar ḥăzîr מִיָּ֑עַר out of the wood yaʿar וְזִ֖יז it, and the wild beast zîz שָׂדַ֣י of the field śāde יִרְעֶֽנָּה׃ doth devour it. rāʿâ
  15. אֱלֹהִ֣ים thee, O God ʾĕlōhîm צְבָאוֹת֮ of hosts: ṣābāʾ שֽׁ֫וּב Return, šûb נָ֥א we beseech nāʾ הַבֵּ֣ט look down nābaṭ מִשָּׁמַ֣יִם from heaven, šāmayim וּרְאֵ֑ה and behold, rāʾâ וּ֝פְקֹ֗ד and visit pāqad גֶּ֣פֶן vine; gepen זֹֽאת׃ this zōt
  16. וְ֭כַנָּה And the vineyard kannâ אֲשֶׁר which ʾăšer נָטְעָ֣ה hath planted, nāṭaʿ יְמִינֶ֑ךָ thy right hand yāmîn וְעַל ʿal בֵּ֝֗ן and the branch bēn אִמַּ֥צְתָּה thou madest strong for thyself. ʾāmaṣ לָּֽךְ׃
  17. שְׂרֻפָ֣ה burned śārap בָאֵ֣שׁ with fire, ʾēš כְּסוּחָ֑ה cut down: kāsaḥ מִגַּעֲרַ֖ת at the rebuke gĕʿārâ פָּנֶ֣יךָ of thy countenance. pānîm יֹאבֵֽדוּ׃ they perish ʾābad
  18. תְּֽהִי be hāyâ יָ֭דְךָ Let thy hand yād עַל upon ʿal אִ֣ישׁ the man ʾîš יְמִינֶ֑ךָ of thy right hand, yāmîn עַל upon ʿal בֶּן the son bēn אָ֝דָ֗ם of man ʾādām אִמַּ֥צְתָּ thou madest strong for thyself. ʾāmaṣ לָּֽךְ׃
  19. וְלֹא So will not lōʾ נָס֥וֹג we go back sûg מִמֶּ֑ךָּ from min תְּ֝חַיֵּ֗נוּ thee: quicken ḥāyâ וּבְשִׁמְךָ֥ upon thy name. šēm נִקְרָֽא׃ us, and we will call qārāʾ
