לְדָוִ֡ד of David. dāwid

אֵלֶ֥יךָ Unto ʾēl יְ֝הוָ֗ה thee, O Lord, yĕhōwâ נַפְשִׁ֥י my soul. nepeš אֶשָּֽׂא׃ do I lift up nāśāʾ

אֱֽלֹהַ֗י O my God, ʾĕlōhîm בְּךָ֣ בָ֭טַחְתִּי I trust bāṭaḥ אַל in thee: let me not ʾal אֵב֑וֹשָׁה be ashamed, bûš אַל let not ʾal יַֽעַלְצ֖וּ triumph over me. ʿālaṣ אֹיְבַ֣י mine enemies ʾōyēb לִֽי׃

גַּ֣ם Yea, gam כָּל let none kōl ק֭וֶֹיךָ that wait qāwâ לֹ֣א lōʾ יֵבֹ֑שׁוּ on thee be ashamed: bûš יֵ֝בֹ֗שׁוּ let them be ashamed bûš הַבּוֹגְדִ֥ים which transgress bāgad רֵיקָֽם׃ without cause. rêqām

דְּרָכֶ֣יךָ me thy ways, derek יְ֭הוָה O Lord; yĕhōwâ הוֹדִיעֵ֑נִי Shew yādaʿ אֹ֖רְחוֹתֶ֣יךָ me thy paths. ʾōraḥ לַמְּדֵֽנִי׃ teach lāmad

הַדְרִ֘יכֵ֤נִי Lead dārak בַאֲמִתֶּ֨ךָ׀ me in thy truth, ʾemet וְֽלַמְּדֵ֗נִי and teach lāmad כִּֽי me: for kî אַ֭תָּה thou ʾattâ אֱלֹהֵ֣י the God ʾĕlōhîm יִשְׁעִ֑י of my salvation; yešaʿ אוֹתְךָ֥ ʾēt קִ֝וִּ֗יתִי on thee do I wait qāwâ כָּל all kōl הַיּֽוֹם׃ the day. yôm

זְכֹר Remember, zākar רַחֲמֶ֣יךָ thy tender mercies raḥam יְ֭הוָה O Lord, yĕhōwâ וַחֲסָדֶ֑יךָ and thy lovingkindnesses; ḥēsēd כִּ֖י for kî מֵעוֹלָ֣ם ever of old. ʿôlām הֵֽמָּה׃ they hēm

חַטֹּ֤אות the sins ḥaṭṭāʾâ נְעוּרַ֨י׀ of my youth, nāʿûr וּפְשָׁעַ֗י nor my transgressions: pešaʿ אַל not ʾal תִּ֫זְכֹּ֥ר Remember zākar כְּחַסְדְּךָ֥ according to thy mercy ḥēsēd זְכָר remember zākar לִי אַ֑תָּה thou ʾattâ לְמַ֖עַן sake, maʿan טוּבְךָ֣ me for thy goodness' ṭûb יְהוָֽה׃ O Lord. yĕhōwâ

טוֹב Good ṭôb וְיָשָׁ֥ר and upright yāšār יְהוָ֑ה the Lord: yĕhōwâ עַל therefore ʿal כֵּ֤ן kēn יוֹרֶ֖ה will he teach yārâ חַטָּאִ֣ים sinners ḥaṭṭāʾ בַּדָּֽרֶךְ׃ in the way. derek

יַדְרֵ֣ךְ will he guide dārak עֲ֭נָוִים The meek ʿānāw בַּמִּשְׁפָּ֑ט in judgment: mišpāṭ וִֽילַמֵּ֖ד will he teach lāmad עֲנָוִ֣ים and the meek ʿānāw דַּרְכּֽוֹ׃ his way. derek

כָּל All kōl אָרְח֣וֹת the paths ʾōraḥ יְ֭הוָה of the Lord yĕhōwâ חֶ֣סֶד mercy ḥēsēd וֶאֱמֶ֑ת and truth ʾemet לְנֹצְרֵ֥י unto such as keep nāṣar בְ֝רִית֗וֹ his covenant bĕrît וְעֵדֹתָֽיו׃ and his testimonies. ʿēdâ

לְמַֽעַן sake, maʿan שִׁמְךָ֥ For thy name's šēm יְהוָ֑ה O Lord, yĕhōwâ וְֽסָלַחְתָּ֥ pardon sālaḥ לַ֝עֲוֺנִ֗י mine iniquity; ʿāwōn כִּ֣י for kî רַב great. rab הֽוּא׃ it hûʾ

מִי What mî זֶ֣ה he that ze הָ֭אִישׁ man ʾîš יְרֵ֣א feareth yārēʾ יְהוָ֑ה the Lord? yĕhōwâ י֝וֹרֶ֗נּוּ him shall he teach yārâ בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ in the way derek יִבְחָֽר׃ he shall choose. bāḥar

נַ֭פְשׁוֹ His soul nepeš בְּט֣וֹב at ease; ṭôb תָּלִ֑ין shall dwell lûn וְ֝זַרְע֗וֹ and his seed zeraʿ יִ֣ירַשׁ shall inherit yāraš אָֽרֶץ׃ the earth. ʾereṣ

ס֣וֹד The secret sôd יְ֭הוָה of the Lord yĕhōwâ לִירֵאָ֑יו with them that fear yārēʾ וּ֝בְרִית֗וֹ them his covenant. bĕrît לְהוֹדִיעָֽם׃ him; and he will shew yādaʿ

עֵינַ֣י Mine eyes ʿayin תָּ֭מִיד ever tāmîd אֶל toward ʾēl יְהוָ֑ה the Lord; yĕhōwâ כִּ֤י for kî הֽוּא he hûʾ יוֹצִ֖יא shall pluck yāṣāʾ מֵרֶ֣שֶׁת out of the net. rešet רַגְלָֽי׃ my feet regel

פְּנֵה Turn pānâ אֵלַ֥י thee unto ʾēl וְחָנֵּ֑נִי me, and have mercy ḥānan כִּֽי upon me; for kî יָחִ֖יד desolate yāḥîd וְעָנִ֣י and afflicted. ʿānî אָֽנִי׃ I ʾănî

צָר֣וֹת The troubles ṣārâ לְבָבִ֣י of my heart lēbāb הִרְחִ֑יבוּ are enlarged: rāḥab מִ֝מְּצֽוּקוֹתַ֗י of my distresses. mĕṣûqâ הוֹצִיאֵֽנִי׃ bring thou me out yāṣāʾ

רְאֵ֣ה Look upon rāʾâ עָ֭נְיִי mine affliction ʿŏnî וַעֲמָלִ֑י and my pain; ʿāmāl וְ֝שָׂ֗א and forgive nāśāʾ לְכָל all kōl חַטֹּאותָֽי׃ my sins. ḥaṭṭāʾâ

רְאֵֽה Consider rāʾâ אֹיְבַ֥י mine enemies; ʾōyēb כִּי for kî רָ֑בּוּ they are many; rābab וְשִׂנְאַ֖ת and they hate śānēʾ חָמָ֣ס me with cruel ḥāmās שְׂנֵאֽוּנִי׃ hatred. śinʾâ

שָׁמְרָ֣ה O keep šāmar נַ֭פְשִׁי my soul, nepeš וְהַצִּילֵ֑נִי and deliver nāṣal אַל me: let me not ʾal אֵ֝ב֗וֹשׁ be ashamed; bûš כִּֽי for kî חָסִ֥יתִי I put my trust in thee. ḥāsâ בָֽךְ׃

תֹּם Let integrity tōm וָיֹ֥שֶׁר and uprightness yōšer יִצְּר֑וּנִי preserve nāṣar כִּ֝֗י me; for kî קִוִּיתִֽיךָ׃ I wait on thee. qāwâ

פְּדֵ֣ה Redeem pādâ אֱ֭לֹהִים O God, ʾĕlōhîm אֶת ʾēt יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל Israel, yiśrāʾēl מִ֝כֹּ֗ל out of all kōl צָֽרוֹתָיו׃ his troubles. ṣārâ
