וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר spake dābar יְהוָ֖ה And the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶל unto ʾēl מֹשֶׁ֥ה Moses, mōše לֵּאמֹֽר׃ saying, ʾāmar

צַ֚ו Command ṣāwâ אֶת ʾēt בְּנֵ֣י the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl וִֽישַׁלְּחוּ֙ that they put out šālaḥ מִן of min הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔ה the camp maḥăne כָּל every kōl צָר֖וּעַ leper, ṣāraʿ וְכָל and every one kōl זָ֑ב that hath an issue, zûb וְכֹ֖ל and whosoever kōl טָמֵ֥א is defiled ṭāmēʾ לָנָֽפֶשׁ׃ by the dead: nepeš

מִזָּכָ֤ר Both male zākār עַד and ʿad נְקֵבָה֙ female nĕqēbâ תְּשַׁלֵּ֔חוּ shall ye put out, šālaḥ אֶל ʾēl מִח֥וּץ without ḥûṣ לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֖ה the camp maḥăne תְּשַׁלְּח֑וּם shall ye put šālaḥ וְלֹ֤א not lōʾ יְטַמְּאוּ֙ them; that they defile ṭāmēʾ אֶת ʾēt מַ֣חֲנֵיהֶ֔ם their camps, maḥăne אֲשֶׁ֥ר whereof ʾăšer אֲנִ֖י I ʾănî שֹׁכֵ֥ן dwell. šākan בְּתוֹכָֽם׃ in the midst tāwek

וַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ did so, ʿāśâ כֵן֙ kēn בְּנֵ֣י And the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel yiśrāʾēl וַיְשַׁלְּח֣וּ and put them out šālaḥ אוֹתָ֔ם ʾēt אֶל ʾēl מִח֖וּץ without ḥûṣ לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה the camp: maḥăne כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֨ר as ʾăšer דִּבֶּ֤ר spake dābar יְהוָה֙ the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶל unto ʾēl מֹשֶׁ֔ה Moses, mōše כֵּ֥ן so kēn עָשׂ֖וּ did ʿāśâ בְּנֵ֥י the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel. yiśrāʾēl

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר spake dābar יְהוָ֖ה And the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶל unto ʾēl מֹשֶׁ֥ה Moses, mōše לֵּאמֹֽר׃ saying, ʾāmar

דַּבֵּר֮ Speak dābar אֶל unto ʾēl בְּנֵ֣י the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ of Israel, yiśrāʾēl אִ֣ישׁ a man ʾîš אֽוֹ or ʾô אִשָּׁ֗ה woman ʾiššâ כִּ֤י When kî יַֽעֲשׂוּ֙ shall commit ʿāśâ מִכָּל any kōl חַטֹּ֣את sin ḥaṭṭāʾâ הָֽאָדָ֔ם that men ʾādām לִמְעֹ֥ל commit, māʿal מַ֖עַל to do a trespass maʿal בַּֽיהוָ֑ה against the Lord, yĕhōwâ וְאָֽשְׁמָ֖ה be guilty; ʾāšam הַנֶּ֥פֶשׁ person nepeš הַהִֽוא׃ and that hûʾ

וְהִתְוַדּ֗וּ Then they shall confess yādâ אֶֽת ʾēt חַטָּאתָם֮ their sin ḥaṭṭāʾâ אֲשֶׁ֣ר which ʾăšer עָשׂוּ֒ they have done: ʿāśâ וְהֵשִׁ֤יב and he shall recompense šûb אֶת his ʾēt אֲשָׁמוֹ֙ trespass ʾāšām בְּרֹאשׁ֔וֹ with the principal rōš וַחֲמִֽישִׁת֖וֹ it the fifth ḥămîšî יֹסֵ֣ף thereof, and add yāsap עָלָ֑יו unto ʿal וְנָתַ֕ן thereof, and give nātan לַֽאֲשֶׁ֖ר unto against whom ʾăšer אָשַׁ֥ם he hath trespassed. ʾāšam לֽוֹ׃

וְאִם But if ʾim אֵ֨ין have no ʾayin לָאִ֜ישׁ the man ʾîš גֹּאֵ֗ל kinsman gāʾal לְהָשִׁ֤יב to recompense šûb הָֽאָשָׁם֙ the trespass ʾāšām אֵלָ֔יו unto, ʾēl הָֽאָשָׁ֛ם let the trespass ʾāšām הַמּוּשָׁ֥ב be recompensed šûb לַֽיהוָ֖ה unto the Lord, yĕhōwâ לַכֹּהֵ֑ן to the priest; kōhēn מִלְּבַ֗ד beside bad אֵ֚יל the ram ʾayil הַכִּפֻּרִ֔ים of the atonement, kippur אֲשֶׁ֥ר whereby ʾăšer יְכַפֶּר an atonement shall be made kāpar בּ֖וֹ עָלָֽיו׃ for him. ʿal

וְכָל And every kōl תְּרוּמָ֞ה offering tĕrûmâ לְכָל of all kōl קָדְשֵׁ֧י the holy things qōdeš בְנֵֽי of the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl אֲשֶׁר which ʾăšer יַקְרִ֥יבוּ they bring qārab לַכֹּהֵ֖ן unto the priest, kōhēn ל֥וֹ יִֽהְיֶֽה׃ shall be his. hāyâ

וְאִ֥ישׁ And every man's ʾîš אֶת ʾēt קֳדָשָׁ֖יו hallowed things qōdeš ל֣וֹ יִֽהְי֑וּ shall be hāyâ אִ֛ישׁ any man ʾîš אֲשֶׁר his: whatsoever ʾăšer יִתֵּ֥ן giveth nātan לַכֹּהֵ֖ן the priest, kōhēn ל֥וֹ יִֽהְיֶֽה׃ it shall be his. hāyâ

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר spake dābar יְהוָ֖ה And the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶל unto ʾēl מֹשֶׁ֥ה Moses, mōše לֵּאמֹֽר׃ saying, ʾāmar

דַּבֵּר֙ Speak dābar אֶל unto ʾēl בְּנֵ֣י the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֖ and say ʾāmar אֲלֵהֶ֑ם unto ʾēl אִ֥ישׁ any ʾîš אִישׁ֙ man's ʾîš כִּֽי them, If kî תִשְׂטֶ֣ה go aside, śāṭâ אִשְׁתּ֔וֹ wife ʾiššâ וּמָֽעֲלָ֥ה and commit māʿal ב֖וֹ מָֽעַל׃ a trespass against him, maʿal

וְשָׁכַ֨ב lie šākab אִ֣ישׁ And a man ʾîš אֹתָהּ֮ with ʾēt שִׁכְבַת her carnally, šĕkābâ זֶרַע֒ zeraʿ וְנֶעְלַם֙ and it be hid ʿālam מֵֽעֵינֵ֣י from the eyes ʿayin אִישָׁ֔הּ of her husband, ʾîš וְנִסְתְּרָ֖ה and be kept close, sātar וְהִ֣יא and she hûʾ נִטְמָ֑אָה be defiled, ṭāmēʾ וְעֵד֙ witness ʿēd אֵ֣ין and no ʾayin בָּ֔הּ וְהִ֖וא she hûʾ לֹ֥א against her, neither lōʾ נִתְפָּֽשָׂה׃ be taken tāpaś

וְעָבַ֨ר come ʿābar עָלָ֧יו upon ʿal רֽוּחַ And the spirit rûaḥ קִנְאָ֛ה of jealousy qinʾâ וְקִנֵּ֥א him, and he be jealous qānāʾ אֶת ʾēt אִשְׁתּ֖וֹ of his wife, ʾiššâ וְהִ֣וא and she hûʾ נִטְמָ֑אָה be defiled: ṭāmēʾ אֽוֹ or ʾô עָבַ֨ר come ʿābar עָלָ֤יו upon ʿal רֽוּחַ if the spirit rûaḥ קִנְאָה֙ of jealousy qinʾâ וְקִנֵּ֣א him, and he be jealous qānāʾ אֶת ʾēt אִשְׁתּ֔וֹ of his wife, ʾiššâ וְהִ֖יא and she hûʾ לֹ֥א be not lōʾ נִטְמָֽאָה׃ defiled: ṭāmēʾ

וְהֵבִ֨יא bring bôʾ הָאִ֣ישׁ Then shall the man ʾîš אֶת ʾēt אִשְׁתּוֹ֮ his wife ʾiššâ אֶל unto ʾēl הַכֹּהֵן֒ the priest, kōhēn וְהֵבִ֤יא and he shall bring bôʾ אֶת ʾēt קָרְבָּנָהּ֙ her offering qorbān עָלֶ֔יהָ for ʿal עֲשִׂירִ֥ת her, the tenth ʿăśîrî הָֽאֵיפָ֖ה of an ephah ʾêpâ קֶ֣מַח meal; qemaḥ שְׂעֹרִ֑ים of barley śĕʿōrâ לֹֽא no lōʾ יִצֹ֨ק he shall pour yāṣaq עָלָ֜יו upon ʿal שֶׁ֗מֶן oil šemen וְלֹֽא it, nor lōʾ יִתֵּ֤ן put nātan עָלָיו֙ thereon; ʿal לְבֹנָ֔ה frankincense lĕbônâ כִּֽי for kî מִנְחַ֤ת an offering minḥâ קְנָאֹת֙ of jealousy, qinʾâ ה֔וּא it hûʾ מִנְחַ֥ת an offering minḥâ זִכָּר֖וֹן of memorial, zikrôn מַזְכֶּ֥רֶת to remembrance. zākar עָוֹֽן׃ bringing iniquity ʿāwōn

וְהִקְרִ֥יב shall bring her near, qārab אֹתָ֖הּ ʾēt הַכֹּהֵ֑ן And the priest kōhēn וְהֶֽעֱמִדָ֖הּ and set ʿāmad לִפְנֵ֥י her before pānîm יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord: yĕhōwâ

וְלָקַ֧ח shall take lāqaḥ הַכֹּהֵ֛ן And the priest kōhēn מַ֥יִם water mayim קְדֹשִׁ֖ים holy qādôš בִּכְלִי vessel; kĕlî חָ֑רֶשׂ in an earthen ḥereś וּמִן and of min הֶֽעָפָ֗ר the dust ʿāpār אֲשֶׁ֤ר that ʾăšer יִֽהְיֶה֙ is hāyâ בְּקַרְקַ֣ע in the floor qarqaʿ הַמִּשְׁכָּ֔ן of the tabernacle miškān יִקַּ֥ח shall take, lāqaḥ הַכֹּהֵ֖ן the priest kōhēn וְנָתַ֥ן and put nātan אֶל into ʾēl הַמָּֽיִם׃ the water: mayim

וְהֶֽעֱמִ֨יד shall set ʿāmad הַכֹּהֵ֥ן And the priest kōhēn אֶֽת ʾēt הָאִשָּׁה֮ the woman ʾiššâ לִפְנֵ֣י before pānîm יְהוָה֒ the Lord, yĕhōwâ וּפָרַע֙ and uncover pāraʿ אֶת ʾēt רֹ֣אשׁ head, rōš הָֽאִשָּׁ֔ה the woman's ʾiššâ וְנָתַ֣ן and put nātan עַל in ʿal כַּפֶּ֗יהָ her hands, kap אֵ֚ת ʾēt מִנְחַ֣ת the offering minḥâ הַזִּכָּר֔וֹן of memorial zikrôn מִנְחַ֥ת offering: minḥâ קְנָאֹ֖ת the jealousy qinʾâ הִ֑וא which hûʾ וּבְיַ֤ד in his hand yād הַכֹּהֵן֙ and the priest kōhēn יִֽהְי֔וּ shall have hāyâ מֵ֥י water mayim הַמָּרִ֖ים the bitter mar הַמְאָֽרֲרִֽים׃ that causeth the curse: ʾārar

וְהִשְׁבִּ֨יעַ shall charge her by an oath, šābaʿ אֹתָ֜הּ ʾēt הַכֹּהֵ֗ן And the priest kōhēn וְאָמַ֤ר and say ʾāmar אֶל unto ʾēl הָֽאִשָּׁה֙ the woman, ʾiššâ אִם If ʾim לֹ֨א no lōʾ שָׁכַ֥ב have lain šākab אִישׁ֙ man ʾîš אֹתָ֔ךְ with ʾēt וְאִם thee, and if ʾim לֹ֥א thou hast not lōʾ שָׂטִ֛ית gone aside śāṭâ טֻמְאָ֖ה to uncleanness ṭumʾâ תַּ֣חַת instead of taḥat אִישֵׁ֑ךְ thy husband, ʾîš הִנָּקִ֕י be thou free nāqâ מִמֵּ֛י water mayim הַמָּרִ֥ים bitter mar הַֽמְאָרֲרִ֖ים that causeth the curse: ʾārar הָאֵֽלֶּה׃ from this ʾēlle

וְאַ֗תְּ thou ʾattâ כִּ֥י But if kî שָׂטִ֛ית hast gone aside śāṭâ תַּ֥חַת instead of taḥat אִישֵׁ֖ךְ thy husband, ʾîš וְכִ֣י and if kî נִטְמֵ֑את thou be defiled, ṭāmēʾ וַיִּתֵּ֨ן have nātan אִ֥ישׁ and some man ʾîš בָּךְ֙ אֶת ʾēt שְׁכָבְתּ֔וֹ lain šĕkōbet מִֽבַּלְעֲדֵ֖י with thee beside bilʿădê אִישֵֽׁךְ׃ thine husband: ʾîš

וְהִשְׁבִּ֨יעַ shall charge šābaʿ הַכֹּהֵ֥ן Then the priest kōhēn אֶֽת ʾēt הָאִשָּׁה֮ the woman ʾiššâ בִּשְׁבֻעַ֣ת with an oath šĕbûʿâ הָֽאָלָה֒ of cursing, ʾālâ וְאָמַ֤ר shall say ʾāmar הַכֹּהֵן֙ and the priest kōhēn לָֽאִשָּׁ֔ה unto the woman, ʾiššâ יִתֵּ֨ן make nātan יְהוָ֥ה The Lord yĕhōwâ אוֹתָ֛ךְ ʾēt לְאָלָ֥ה thee a curse ʾālâ וְלִשְׁבֻעָ֖ה and an oath šĕbûʿâ בְּת֣וֹךְ among tāwek עַמֵּ֑ךְ thy people, ʿam בְּתֵ֨ת doth make nātan יְהוָ֤ה when the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶת ʾēt יְרֵכֵךְ֙ thy thigh yārēk נֹפֶ֔לֶת to rot, nāpal וְאֶת ʾēt בִּטְנֵ֖ךְ and thy belly beṭen צָבָֽה׃ to swell; ṣābe

וּ֠בָאוּ shall go bôʾ הַמַּ֨יִם water mayim הַמְאָֽרְרִ֤ים that causeth the curse ʾārar הָאֵ֙לֶּה֙ And this ʾēlle בְּֽמֵעַ֔יִךְ into thy bowels, mēʿe לַצְבּ֥וֹת to swell, ṣābâ בֶּ֖טֶן to make belly beṭen וְלַנְפִּ֣ל to rot: nāpal יָרֵ֑ךְ and thigh yārēk וְאָֽמְרָ֥ה shall say, ʾāmar הָֽאִשָּׁ֖ה And the woman ʾiššâ אָמֵ֥ן׀ Amen, ʾāmēn אָמֵֽן׃ amen. ʾāmēn

וְ֠כָתַב shall write kātab אֶת ʾēt הָֽאָלֹ֥ת curses ʾālâ הָאֵ֛לֶּה these ʾēlle הַכֹּהֵ֖ן And the priest kōhēn בַּסֵּ֑פֶר in a book, sēper וּמָחָ֖ה and he shall blot māḥâ אֶל out with ʾēl מֵ֥י water: mayim הַמָּרִֽים׃ the bitter mar

וְהִשְׁקָה֙ to drink šāqâ אֶת And he shall cause ʾēt הָ֣אִשָּׁ֔ה the woman ʾiššâ אֶת ʾēt מֵ֥י water mayim הַמָּרִ֖ים the bitter mar הַמְאָֽרֲרִ֑ים that causeth the curse: ʾārar וּבָ֥אוּ shall enter bôʾ בָ֛הּ הַמַּ֥יִם and the water mayim הַֽמְאָרֲרִ֖ים that causeth the curse ʾārar לְמָרִֽים׃ into her, bitter. mar

וְלָקַ֤ח shall take lāqaḥ הַכֹּהֵן֙ Then the priest kōhēn מִיַּ֣ד hand, yād הָֽאִשָּׁ֔ה out of the woman's ʾiššâ אֵ֖ת ʾēt מִנְחַ֣ת offering minḥâ הַקְּנָאֹ֑ת the jealousy qinʾâ וְהֵנִ֤יף and shall wave nûp אֶת ʾēt הַמִּנְחָה֙ the offering minḥâ לִפְנֵ֣י before pānîm יְהוָ֔ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ וְהִקְרִ֥יב and offer qārab אֹתָ֖הּ ʾēt אֶל it upon ʾēl הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃ the altar: mizbēaḥ

וְקָמַ֨ץ shall take an handful qāmaṣ הַכֹּהֵ֤ן And the priest kōhēn מִן of min הַמִּנְחָה֙ the offering, minḥâ אֶת ʾēt אַזְכָּ֣רָתָ֔הּ the memorial ʾazkārâ וְהִקְטִ֖יר thereof, and burn qāṭar הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חָה upon the altar, mizbēaḥ וְאַחַ֛ר and afterward ʾaḥar יַשְׁקֶ֥ה to drink šāqâ אֶת shall cause ʾēt הָֽאִשָּׁ֖ה the woman ʾiššâ אֶת ʾēt הַמָּֽיִם׃ the water. mayim

וְהִשְׁקָ֣הּ And when he hath made her to drink šāqâ אֶת ʾēt הַמַּ֗יִם the water, mayim וְהָֽיְתָ֣ה then it shall come to pass, hāyâ אִֽם if ʾim נִטְמְאָה֮ she be defiled, ṭāmēʾ וַתִּמְעֹ֣ל and have done māʿal מַ֣עַל trespass maʿal בְּאִישָׁהּ֒ against her husband, ʾîš וּבָ֨אוּ shall enter bôʾ בָ֜הּ הַמַּ֤יִם that the water mayim הַמְאָֽרֲרִים֙ that causeth the curse ʾārar לְמָרִ֔ים into her, bitter, mar וְצָֽבְתָ֣ה shall swell, ṣābâ בִטְנָ֔הּ and her belly beṭen וְנָֽפְלָ֖ה shall rot: nāpal יְרֵכָ֑הּ and her thigh yārēk וְהָֽיְתָ֧ה shall be hāyâ הָֽאִשָּׁ֛ה and the woman ʾiššâ לְאָלָ֖ה a curse ʾālâ בְּקֶ֥רֶב among qereb עַמָּֽהּ׃ her people. ʿam

וְאִם And if ʾim לֹ֤א be not lōʾ נִטְמְאָה֙ defiled, ṭāmēʾ הָֽאִשָּׁ֔ה the woman ʾiššâ וּטְהֹרָ֖ה but be clean; ṭāhôr הִ֑וא hûʾ וְנִקְּתָ֖ה then she shall be free, nāqâ וְנִזְרְעָ֥ה and shall conceive zāraʿ זָֽרַע׃ seed. zeraʿ

זֹ֥את This zōt תּוֹרַ֖ת the law tôrâ הַקְּנָאֹ֑ת of jealousies, qinʾâ אֲשֶׁ֨ר when ʾăšer תִּשְׂטֶ֥ה goeth aside śāṭâ אִשָּׁ֛ה a wife ʾiššâ תַּ֥חַת instead of taḥat אִישָׁ֖הּ her husband, ʾîš וְנִטְמָֽאָה׃ and is defiled; ṭāmēʾ

א֣וֹ Or ʾô אִ֗ישׁ him, ʾîš אֲשֶׁ֨ר when ʾăšer תַּֽעֲבֹ֥ר cometh ʿābar עָלָ֛יו upon ʿal ר֥וּחַ the spirit rûaḥ קִנְאָ֖ה of jealousy qinʾâ וְקִנֵּ֣א and he be jealous qānāʾ אֶת ʾēt אִשְׁתּ֑וֹ over his wife, ʾiššâ וְהֶֽעֱמִ֤יד and shall set ʿāmad אֶת ʾēt הָֽאִשָּׁה֙ the woman ʾiššâ לִפְנֵ֣י before pānîm יְהוָ֔ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ וְעָ֤שָׂה shall execute ʿāśâ לָהּ֙ הַכֹּהֵ֔ן and the priest kōhēn אֵ֥ת upon her ʾēt כָּל all kōl הַתּוֹרָ֖ה law. tôrâ הַזֹּֽאת׃ this zōt

וְנִקָּ֥ה be guiltless nāqâ הָאִ֖ישׁ Then shall the man ʾîš מֵֽעָוֹ֑ן from iniquity, ʿāwōn וְהָֽאִשָּׁ֣ה woman ʾiššâ הַהִ֔וא and this hûʾ תִּשָּׂ֖א shall bear nāśāʾ אֶת ʾēt עֲוֹנָֽהּ׃ her iniquity. ʿāwōn
