ഗിബെയോന്യർ അവനോടു: ശൌലിനോടും അവന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തോടും ഞങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള കാര്യം പൊന്നും വെള്ളിയുംകൊണ്ടു തീരുന്നതല്ല; യിസ്രായേലിൽ ഒരുത്തനെ കൊല്ലുന്നതും ഞങ്ങൾക്കുള്ളതല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നതു ഞാൻ ചെയ്തുതരാം എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

And the Gibeonites said unto him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shalt thou kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, that will I do for you.
