இயேசு பிரதியுத்தரமாக: ஒரு மனுஷன் எருசலேமிலிருந்து எரிகோவுக்குப் போகையில் கள்ளர் கையில் அகப்பட்டான்; அவர்கள் அவன் வஸ்திரங்களை உரிந்துகொண்டு அவனைக் காயப்படுத்தி, குற்றுயிராக விட்டுப் போனார்கள்.

அக்கேள்விக்குப் பதிலாக இயேசு: “ஒரு மனிதன் எருசலேமில் இருந்து எரிகோவிற்குப் பாதை வழியாகப் பயணம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தான். சில திருடர்கள் அவனைச் சூழ்ந்து கொண்டார்கள். அவர்கள் அவனது ஆடையைக் கிழித்து அவனை அடித்தார்கள். அம்மனிதனைத் தரையில் வீழ்த்திவிட்டு அத்திருடர்கள் அங்கிருந்து சென்றார்கள். அவன் இறக்கும் தருவாயில் கிடந்தான்.
