דַּבֵּ֨ר Speak dābar אֶֽל unto ʾēl אַהֲרֹ֜ן Aaron ʾahărôn וְאֶל and to ʾēl בָּנָ֗יו his sons, bēn וְיִנָּֽזְרוּ֙ that they separate themselves nāzar מִקָּדְשֵׁ֣י from the holy things qōdeš בְנֵֽי of the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl וְלֹ֥א not lōʾ יְחַלְּל֖וּ and that they profane ḥālal אֶת ʾēt שֵׁ֣ם name šēm קָדְשִׁ֑י my holy qōdeš אֲשֶׁ֨ר which ʾăšer הֵ֧ם they hēm מַקְדִּשִׁ֛ים hallow qādaš לִ֖י אֲנִ֥י unto me: I ʾănî יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ

אֱמֹ֣ר Say ʾāmar אֲלֵהֶ֗ם unto ʾēl לְדֹרֹ֨תֵיכֶ֜ם among your generations, dôr כָּל kōl אִ֣ישׁ׀ them, Whosoever ʾîš אֲשֶׁר that ʾăšer יִקְרַ֣ב goeth qārab מִכָּל of all kōl זַרְעֲכֶ֗ם your seed zeraʿ אֶל unto ʾēl הַקֳּדָשִׁים֙ the holy things, qōdeš אֲשֶׁ֨ר which ʾăšer יַקְדִּ֤ישׁוּ hallow qādaš בְנֵֽי the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ of Israel yiśrāʾēl לַֽיהוָ֔ה unto the Lord, yĕhōwâ וְטֻמְאָת֖וֹ having his uncleanness ṭumʾâ עָלָ֑יו upon ʿal וְנִכְרְתָ֞ה shall be cut off kārat הַנֶּ֧פֶשׁ soul nepeš הַהִ֛וא him, that hûʾ מִלְּפָנַ֖י from my presence: pānîm אֲנִ֥י I ʾănî יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ

אִ֣ישׁ What man soever ʾîš אִ֞ישׁ ʾîš מִזֶּ֣רַע of the seed zeraʿ אַֽהֲרֹ֗ן of Aaron ʾahărôn וְה֤וּא hûʾ צָר֙וּעַ֙ a leper, ṣāraʿ א֣וֹ or ʾô זָ֔ב hath a running issue; zûb בַּקֳּדָשִׁים֙ of the holy things, qōdeš לֹ֣א he shall not lōʾ יֹאכַ֔ל eat ʾākal עַ֖ד until ʿad אֲשֶׁ֣ר ʾăšer יִטְהָ֑ר he be clean. ṭāhēr וְהַנֹּגֵ֙עַ֙ And whoso toucheth nāgaʿ בְּכָל any thing kōl טְמֵא unclean ṭāmēʾ נֶ֔פֶשׁ the dead, nepeš א֣וֹ or ʾô אִ֔ישׁ a man ʾîš אֲשֶׁר whose ʾăšer תֵּצֵ֥א goeth yāṣāʾ מִמֶּ֖נּוּ from him; min שִׁכְבַת šĕkābâ זָֽרַע׃ seed zeraʿ

אוֹ Or ʾô אִישׁ֙ whosoever ʾîš אֲשֶׁ֣ר ʾăšer יִגַּ֔ע toucheth nāgaʿ בְּכָל any kōl שֶׁ֖רֶץ creeping thing, šereṣ אֲשֶׁ֣ר whereby ʾăšer יִטְמָא he may be made unclean, ṭāmēʾ ל֑וֹ א֤וֹ or ʾô בְאָדָם֙ a man ʾādām אֲשֶׁ֣ר of whom ʾăšer יִטְמָא he may take uncleanness, ṭāmēʾ ל֔וֹ לְכֹ֖ל whatsoever kōl טֻמְאָתֽוֹ׃ uncleanness he hath; ṭumʾâ

נֶ֚פֶשׁ The soul nepeš אֲשֶׁ֣ר which ʾăšer תִּגַּע hath touched nāgaʿ בּ֔וֹ וְטָֽמְאָ֖ה any such shall be unclean ṭāmēʾ עַד until ʿad הָעָ֑רֶב even, ʿereb וְלֹ֤א and shall not lōʾ יֹאכַל֙ eat ʾākal מִן of min הַקֳּדָשִׁ֔ים the holy things, qōdeš כִּ֛י kî אִם unless ʾim רָחַ֥ץ he wash rāḥaṣ בְּשָׂר֖וֹ his flesh bāśār בַּמָּֽיִם׃ with water. mayim

וּבָ֥א is down, bôʾ הַשֶּׁ֖מֶשׁ And when the sun šemeš וְטָהֵ֑ר he shall be clean, ṭāhēr וְאַחַר֙ and shall afterward ʾaḥar יֹאכַ֣ל eat ʾākal מִן of min הַקֳּדָשִׁ֔ים the holy things; qōdeš כִּ֥י because kî לַחְמ֖וֹ his food. leḥem הֽוּא׃ it hûʾ

וְשָֽׁמְר֣וּ They shall therefore keep šāmar אֶת ʾēt מִשְׁמַרְתִּ֗י mine ordinance, mišmeret וְלֹֽא lest lōʾ יִשְׂא֤וּ they bear nāśāʾ עָלָיו֙ for ʿal חֵ֔טְא sin ḥēṭĕʾ וּמֵ֥תוּ it, and die mût ב֖וֹ כִּ֣י therefore, if kî יְחַלְּלֻ֑הוּ they profane ḥālal אֲנִ֥י it: I ʾănî יְהוָ֖ה the Lord yĕhōwâ מְקַדְּשָֽׁם׃ do sanctify them. qādaš

וְכֹהֵ֗ן the priest kōhēn כִּֽי But if kî יִקְנֶ֥ה buy qānâ נֶ֙פֶשׁ֙ soul nepeš קִנְיַ֣ן with qinyān כַּסְפּ֔וֹ his money, kesep ה֖וּא he hûʾ יֹ֣אכַל shall eat ʾākal בּ֑וֹ וִילִ֣יד of it, and he that is born yālîd בֵּית֔וֹ in his house: bayit הֵ֖ם they hēm יֹֽאכְל֥וּ shall eat ʾākal בְלַחְמֽוֹ׃ of his meat. leḥem

וּבַת daughter bat כֹּהֵן֩ the priest's kōhēn כִּ֨י But if kî תִֽהְיֶ֜ה be hāyâ אַלְמָנָ֣ה a widow, ʾalmānâ וּגְרוּשָׁ֗ה or divorced, gāraš וְזֶרַע֮ child, zeraʿ אֵ֣ין and have no ʾayin לָהּ֒ וְשָׁבָ֞ה and is returned šûb אֶל unto ʾēl בֵּ֤ית house, bayit אָבִ֙יהָ֙ her father's ʾāb כִּנְעוּרֶ֔יהָ as in her youth, nāʿûr מִלֶּ֥חֶם meat: leḥem אָבִ֖יהָ of her father's ʾāb תֹּאכֵ֑ל she shall eat ʾākal וְכָל but there shall no kōl זָ֖ר stranger zûr לֹא lōʾ יֹ֥אכַל eat thereof. ʾākal בּֽוֹ׃

וְאִ֕ישׁ a man ʾîš כִּֽי And if kî יֹאכַ֥ל eat ʾākal קֹ֖דֶשׁ the holy thing qōdeš בִּשְׁגָגָ֑ה unwittingly, šĕgāgâ וְיָסַ֤ף then he shall put yāsap חֲמִֽשִׁיתוֹ֙ the fifth ḥămîšî עָלָ֔יו thereof unto ʿal וְנָתַ֥ן it, and shall give nātan לַכֹּהֵ֖ן unto the priest kōhēn אֶת ʾēt הַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃ with the holy thing. qōdeš

וְלֹ֣א And they shall not lōʾ יְחַלְּל֔וּ profane ḥālal אֶת ʾēt קָדְשֵׁ֖י the holy things qōdeš בְּנֵ֣י of the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl אֵ֥ת ʾēt אֲשֶׁר which ʾăšer יָרִ֖ימוּ they offer rûm לַֽיהוָֽה׃ unto the Lord; yĕhōwâ

וְהִשִּׂ֤יאוּ Or suffer them to bear nāśāʾ אוֹתָם֙ ʾēt עֲוֹ֣ן the iniquity ʿāwōn אַשְׁמָ֔ה of trespass, ʾašmâ בְּאָכְלָ֖ם when they eat ʾākal אֶת ʾēt קָדְשֵׁיהֶ֑ם their holy things: qōdeš כִּ֛י for kî אֲנִ֥י I ʾănî יְהוָ֖ה the Lord yĕhōwâ מְקַדְּשָֽׁם׃ do sanctify them. qādaš

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר spake dābar יְהוָ֖ה And the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶל unto ʾēl מֹשֶׁ֥ה Moses, mōše לֵּאמֹֽר׃ saying, ʾāmar

דַּבֵּ֨ר Speak dābar אֶֽל unto ʾēl אַהֲרֹ֜ן Aaron, ʾahărôn וְאֶל and to ʾēl בָּנָ֗יו his sons, bēn וְאֶל֙ and unto ʾēl כָּל all kōl בְּנֵ֣י the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֖ and say ʾāmar אֲלֵהֶ֑ם unto ʾēl אִ֣ישׁ them, Whatsoever ʾîš אִישׁ֩ ʾîš מִבֵּ֨ית of the house bayit יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl וּמִן or of min הַגֵּ֣ר the strangers gēr בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל in Israel, yiśrāʾēl אֲשֶׁ֨ר that ʾăšer יַקְרִ֤יב will offer qārab קָרְבָּנוֹ֙ his oblation qorbān לְכָל for all kōl נִדְרֵיהֶם֙ his vows, neder וּלְכָל and for all kōl נִדְבוֹתָ֔ם his freewill offerings, nĕdābâ אֲשֶׁר which ʾăšer יַקְרִ֥יבוּ they will offer qārab לַֽיהוָ֖ה unto the Lord yĕhōwâ לְעֹלָֽה׃ for a burnt offering; ʿōlâ

לִֽרְצֹנְכֶ֑ם at your own will rāṣôn תָּמִ֣ים without blemish, tāmîm זָכָ֔ר a male zākār בַּבָּקָ֕ר of the beeves, bāqār בַּכְּשָׂבִ֖ים of the sheep, keśeb וּבָֽעִזִּֽים׃ or of the goats. ʿēz

וְאִ֗ישׁ And whosoever ʾîš כִּֽי kî יַקְרִ֤יב offereth qārab זֶֽבַח a sacrifice zebaḥ שְׁלָמִים֙ of peace offerings šelem לַֽיהוָ֔ה unto the Lord yĕhōwâ לְפַלֵּא to accomplish pālāʾ נֶ֙דֶר֙ vow, neder א֣וֹ or ʾô לִנְדָבָ֔ה a freewill offering nĕdābâ בַּבָּקָ֖ר in beeves bāqār א֣וֹ or ʾô בַצֹּ֑אן sheep, ṣōn תָּמִ֤ים perfect tāmîm יִֽהְיֶה֙ it shall be hāyâ לְרָצ֔וֹן to be accepted; rāṣôn כָּל kōl מ֖וּם blemish therein. mʾûm לֹ֥א no lōʾ יִֽהְיֶה there shall be hāyâ בּֽוֹ׃

עַוֶּרֶת֩ Blind, ʿiwwārôn א֨וֹ or ʾô שָׁב֜וּר broken, šābar אֽוֹ or ʾô חָר֣וּץ maimed, ḥāraṣ אֽוֹ or ʾô יַבֶּ֗לֶת having a wen, yabbēl א֤וֹ or ʾô גָרָב֙ scurvy, gārāb א֣וֹ or ʾô יַלֶּ֔פֶת scabbed, yallepet לֹֽא ye shall not lōʾ תַקְרִ֥יבוּ offer qārab אֵ֖לֶּה these ʾēlle לַֽיהוָ֑ה unto the Lord, yĕhōwâ וְאִשֶּׁ֗ה an offering by fire ʾiššâ לֹֽא nor lōʾ תִתְּנ֥וּ make nātan מֵהֶ֛ם hēm עַל of them upon ʿal הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ the altar mizbēaḥ לַֽיהוָֽה׃ unto the Lord. yĕhōwâ

וְשׁ֥וֹר Either a bullock šôr וָשֶׂ֖ה or a lamb śe שָׂר֣וּעַ that hath any thing superfluous śāraʿ וְקָל֑וּט or lacking in his parts, qālaṭ נְדָבָה֙ a freewill offering; nĕdābâ תַּֽעֲשֶׂ֣ה that mayest thou offer ʿāśâ אֹת֔וֹ ʾēt וּלְנֵ֖דֶר but for a vow neder לֹ֥א it shall not lōʾ יֵֽרָצֶֽה׃ be accepted. rāṣâ

וּמָע֤וּךְ that which is bruised, māʿak וְכָתוּת֙ or crushed, kātat וְנָת֣וּק or broken, nātaq וְכָר֔וּת or cut; kārat לֹ֥א Ye shall not lōʾ תַקְרִ֖יבוּ offer qārab לַֽיהוָ֑ה unto the Lord yĕhōwâ וּֽבְאַרְצְכֶ֖ם in your land. ʾereṣ לֹ֥א neither lōʾ תַֽעֲשֽׂוּ׃ shall ye make ʿāśâ

וּמִיַּ֣ד hand yād בֶּן bēn נֵכָ֗ר from a stranger's nēkār לֹ֥א Neither lōʾ תַקְרִ֛יבוּ shall ye offer qārab אֶת ʾēt לֶ֥חֶם the bread leḥem אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֖ם of your God ʾĕlōhîm מִכָּל of any kōl אֵ֑לֶּה of these; ʾēlle כִּ֣י because kî מָשְׁחָתָ֤ם their corruption mišḥāt בָּהֶם֙ מ֣וּם in them, blemishes mʾûm בָּ֔ם לֹ֥א in them: they shall not lōʾ יֵֽרָצ֖וּ be accepted for you. rāṣâ לָכֶֽם׃

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר spake dābar יְהוָ֖ה And the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶל unto ʾēl מֹשֶׁ֥ה Moses, mōše לֵּאמֹֽר׃ saying, ʾāmar

שׁ֣וֹר a bullock, šôr אוֹ or ʾô כֶ֤שֶׂב a sheep, keśeb אוֹ or ʾô עֵז֙ a goat, ʿēz כִּ֣י When kî יִוָּלֵ֔ד is brought forth, yālad וְהָיָ֛ה then it shall be hāyâ שִׁבְעַ֥ת seven šebaʿ יָמִ֖ים days yôm תַּ֣חַת under taḥat אִמּ֑וֹ the dam; ʾēm וּמִיּ֤וֹם day yôm הַשְּׁמִינִי֙ and from the eighth šĕmînî וָהָ֔לְאָה and thenceforth holʾâ יֵֽרָצֶ֕ה it shall be accepted rāṣâ לְקָרְבַּ֥ן for an offering qorbān אִשֶּׁ֖ה made by fire ʾiššâ לַֽיהוָֽה׃ unto the Lord. yĕhōwâ

וְכִֽי And when kî תִזְבְּח֥וּ ye will offer zābaḥ זֶֽבַח a sacrifice zebaḥ תּוֹדָ֖ה of thanksgiving tôdâ לַֽיהוָ֑ה unto the Lord, yĕhōwâ לִֽרְצֹנְכֶ֖ם at your own will. rāṣôn תִּזְבָּֽחוּ׃ offer zābaḥ

בַּיּ֤וֹם day yôm הַהוּא֙ On the same hûʾ יֵֽאָכֵ֔ל it shall be eaten up; ʾākal לֹֽא none lōʾ תוֹתִ֥ירוּ ye shall leave yātar מִמֶּ֖נּוּ of min עַד it until ʿad בֹּ֑קֶר the morrow: bōqer אֲנִ֖י I ʾănî יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ

וּשְׁמַרְתֶּם֙ Therefore shall ye keep šāmar מִצְוֹתַ֔י my commandments, miṣwâ וַֽעֲשִׂיתֶ֖ם and do ʿāśâ אֹתָ֑ם ʾēt אֲנִ֖י them: I ʾănî יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ

וְלֹ֤א Neither lōʾ תְחַלְּלוּ֙ shall ye profane ḥālal אֶת ʾēt שֵׁ֣ם name; šēm קָדְשִׁ֔י my holy qōdeš וְנִ֨קְדַּשְׁתִּ֔י but I will be hallowed qādaš בְּת֖וֹךְ among tāwek בְּנֵ֣י the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel: yiśrāʾēl אֲנִ֥י I ʾănî יְהוָ֖ה the Lord yĕhōwâ מְקַדִּשְׁכֶֽם׃ which hallow you, qādaš

הַמּוֹצִ֤יא That brought you out yāṣāʾ אֶתְכֶם֙ ʾēt מֵאֶ֣רֶץ of the land ʾereṣ מִצְרַ֔יִם of Egypt, miṣrayim לִֽהְי֥וֹת to be hāyâ לָכֶ֖ם לֵֽאלֹהִ֑ים your God: ʾĕlōhîm אֲנִ֖י I ʾănî יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ
