ಆಗ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮೇಲೆ ತನ್ನ ಕೈಚಾಚಲಾಗಿ ಕರ್ತನು ರಾತ್ರಿಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ಬಲವಾದ ಮೂಡಣ ಗಾಳಿಯಿಂದ ಸಮುದ್ರವು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಸಮುದ್ರವನ್ನು ಒಣನೆಲವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು; ಆಗ ನೀರುಗಳು ವಿಭಾಗವಾದವು.
