ಆದರೆ ಯೋಷೀಯನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಹದಿನೆಂಟನೇ ವರುಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ದೇಶವನ್ನೂ ಆಲಯವನ್ನೂ ಶುಚಿಮಾಡಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ತನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನ ಆಲಯವನ್ನು ದುರಸ್ತುಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಚಲ್ಯನ ಮಗ ನಾದ ಶಾಫಾನನನ್ನೂ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ಮಾಸೇಯನನ್ನೂ ರಾಯಸದವನಾದ ಯೋವಾಹಾ ಜನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋವಾಹನನ್ನೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.

ಚೆರೂಯಳ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋವಾಬನು ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಪತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದನು; ಅಹೀಲೂ ದನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನು ಲೇಖಕ ನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.

2 ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲವೃತ್ತಾ 18:25
ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇ ಲಿನ ಅರಸನು--ನೀವು ವಿಾಕಾಯೆಹುವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ಆಮೋನನ ಬಳಿಗೂ ಅರಸನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನ ಬಳಿಗೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಒಯ್ದು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿರಿ--

ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಮೋನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋಷೀಯನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನ ಆಳಿಕೆಯ ಹದಿಮೂರನೇ ವರುಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕರ್ತನ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು.
