இஸ்ரவேலர் வென்ற ஜனங்களில் இஸ்மவேலரும் இருந்தனர். இஸ்மவேலரில் ஆண்கள் பொன்னாலாகிய காதணிகளை அணிந்திருந்தனர். எனவே கிதியோன் இஸ்ரவேலரை நோக்கி, “நான் கேட்கும் இந்த காரியத்தை நீங்கள் எனக்குச் செய்ய வேண்டும். போரில் நீங்கள் எடுத்துக்கொண்ட பொருள்களிலிருந்து ஒவ்வொருவரும் ஒரு பொன் காதணியை எனக்குத் தரவேண்டும்! என்று விரும்புகிறேன்” என்றான்.
