அதற்கு யெப்தா கீலேயாத்தி மூப்பரைப் பார்த்து: நீங்கள் அல்லவா என்னைப் பகைத்து, என் தகப்பன் வீட்டிலிருந்து என்னைத் துரத்தினவர்கள்? இப்பொழுது உங்களுக்கு ஆபத்து நேரிட்டிருக்கிற சமயத்தில் நீங்கள் என்னிடத்தில் ஏன் வருகிறீர்கள் என்றான்.

அதற்கு யெப்தா கீலேயாத்தின் மூப்பரைப் பார்த்து: நீங்கள் அல்லவா என்னைப் பகைத்து, என்னுடைய தகப்பன் வீட்டிலிருந்து என்னைத் துரத்தினவர்கள்? இப்பொழுது உங்களுக்கு ஆபத்து சம்பவித்திருக்கிற சமயத்தில் நீங்கள் என்னிடத்தில் ஏன் வருகிறீர்கள் என்றான்.

ஆனால் யெப்தா கீலேயாத் தேசத்து மூப்பர்களிடம் (தலைவர்களிடம்) “எனது தந்தையின் வீட்டிலிருந்து வெளியேறும்படி கட்டாயப்படுத்தினீர்கள். நீங்கள் என்னைப் பகைக்கிறீர்கள்! உங்களுக்குத் துன்பம் வந்தபோது என்னிடம் ஏன் வருகிறீர்கள்?” என்று கேட்டான்.

இப்தா கிலாயதின் பெரியோர்களிடம், “நீங்கள் என்னை வெறுக்கவில்லையா?, என் தந்தையின் வீட்டிலிருந்து என்னை வெளியே துரத்தவில்லையா? நீங்கள் துன்புறும் இந்நேரத்தில் மட்டும் ஏன் என்னிடம் வருகின்றீர்கள்” என்று கேட்டார்.

Atharku yepthaa geelaeyaaththi moopparaip paarththu: neengal allavaa ennaip pakaiththu, en thakappan veettilirunthu ennaith thuraththinavarkal? Ippoluthu ungalukku aapaththu naerittirukkira samayaththil neengal ennidaththil aen varukireerkal entan.

ye אַתֶּם֙ ʾattâ ah-TA
hate שְׂנֵאתֶ֣ם śānēʾ sa-NAY
אוֹתִ֔י ʾēt ate
me, and expel וַתְּגָֽרְשׁ֖וּנִי gāraš ɡa-RAHSH
house? מִבֵּ֣ית bayit ba-YEET
me out of my father's אָבִ֑י ʾāb av
and why וּמַדּ֜וּעַ maddûaʿ ma-DOO-ah
