அப்போழுது அதோனிபேசேக்: எழுபது ராஜாக்கள், கைகால்களின் பெருவிரல்கள் தறிக்கப்பட்டவர்களாய், என் மேஜையின்கீழ் விழுந்ததைப் பொறுக்கித் தின்றார்கள்; நான் எப்படிச் செய்தேனோ, அப்படியே தேவன் எனக்கும் செய்து சரிக்கட்டினார் என்றான். அவனை எருசலேமுக்குக் கொண்டுபோனார்கள்; அங்கே அவன் செத்துப்போனான்.

அப்பொழுது அதோனிபேசேக்: எழுபது ராஜாக்கள், கை கால்களின் பெருவிரல்கள் வெட்டப்பட்டவர்களாக என்னுடைய மேஜையின்கீழ் விழுந்ததைப் பொறுக்கித் தின்றார்கள்; நான் எப்படிச் செய்தேனோ, அப்படியே தேவன் எனக்கும் செய்து சரிகட்டினார் என்றான். அவனை எருசலேமிற்குக் கொண்டுபோனார்கள்; அங்கே அவன் இறந்தான்.

அப்போது பெசேக்கின் அரசன், “70 அரசர்களின் கை, கால் பெருவிரல்களை நான் துண்டித்தேன். எனது மேசையிலிருந்து விழுந்த உணவுத் துணிக்கைகளை அந்த அரசர்கள் புசித்தார்கள். நான் அந்த அரசர்களுக்குச் செய்தவற்றிற்கான தண்டனையை தேவன் எனக்குத் தந்தார்” என்றான். யூதா மனிதர்கள் பேசேக்கின் அரசனை எருசலேமிற்குக் கொண்டு சென்றார்கள். அவன் அங்கு மரித்தான்.
