பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரும், அவனுடைய சர்வசேனையும், அவன் ஆளுகைக்குட்பட்ட பூமியின் சகல ராஜ்யங்களும், சகல ஜனங்களும் எருசலேமுக்கும் அதைச் சேர்ந்த சகல பட்டணங்களுக்கும் விரோதமாக யுத்தம்பண்ணுகையில் எரேமியாவுக்குக் கர்த்தரால் உண்டான வார்த்தை:

எரேமியாவிற்கு கர்த்தரிடமிருந்து வார்த்தை வந்தது. நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் பாபிலோனின் அரசனாக இருந்தபோது வார்த்தை வந்தது. அவன் எருசலேமிற்கும் அதைச்சுற்றிலும் உள்ள நகரங்களுக்கும் எதிராகச் சண்டையிட்டு கொண்டிருந்தான். நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் தன்னோடு தனது படை முழுவதையும் ஜனங்களிடமும் அவனுடைய ஆளுகைக்குட்பட்ட பூமியின் சகல இராஜ்யங்களுக்கும் உரிய படைகளையும் வைத்திருந்தான்.
