  1. ה֣וֹי Woe hôy רֹעִ֗ים be unto the pastors rāʿâ מְאַבְּדִ֧ים that destroy ʾābad וּמְפִצִ֛ים and scatter pûṣ אֶת ʾēt צֹ֥אן the sheep ṣōn מַרְעִיתִ֖י of my pasture! mirʿît נְאֻם saith nĕʾum יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ
  2. לָ֠כֵן Therefore kēn כֹּֽה thus אָמַ֨ר saith ʾāmar יְהוָ֜ה the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹהֵ֣י God ʾĕlōhîm יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל of Israel yiśrāʾēl עַֽל against ʿal הָרֹעִים֮ the pastors rāʿâ הָרֹעִ֣ים that feed rāʿâ אֶת ʾēt עַמִּי֒ my people; ʿam אַתֶּ֞ם Ye ʾattâ הֲפִצֹתֶ֤ם have scattered pûṣ אֶת ʾēt צֹאנִי֙ my flock, ṣōn וַתַּדִּח֔וּם and driven them away, nādaḥ וְלֹ֥א and have not lōʾ פְקַדְתֶּ֖ם visited pāqad אֹתָ֑ם you ʾēt הִנְנִ֨י them: behold, hēn פֹקֵ֧ד I will visit pāqad עֲלֵיכֶ֛ם upon ʿal אֶת ʾēt רֹ֥עַ the evil rōaʿ מַעַלְלֵיכֶ֖ם of your doings, maʿălāl נְאֻם saith nĕʾum יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ
  3. וַאֲנִ֗י And I ʾănî אֲקַבֵּץ֙ will gather qābaṣ אֶת ʾēt שְׁאֵרִ֣ית the remnant šĕʾērît צֹאנִ֔י of my flock ṣōn מִכֹּל֙ out of all kōl הָאֲרָצ֔וֹת countries ʾereṣ אֲשֶׁר whither ʾăšer הִדַּ֥חְתִּי I have driven nādaḥ אֹתָ֖ם ʾēt שָׁ֑ם šām וַהֲשִׁבֹתִ֥י them, and will bring them again šûb אֶתְהֶ֛ן ʾēt עַל to ʿal נְוֵהֶ֖ן their folds; nāwe וּפָר֥וּ and they shall be fruitful pārâ וְרָבֽוּ׃ and increase. rābâ
  4. וַהֲקִמֹתִ֧י And I will set up qûm עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם over ʿal רֹעִ֖ים shepherds rāʿâ וְרָע֑וּם them which shall feed rāʿâ וְלֹא no lōʾ יִֽירְא֨וּ them: and they shall fear yārēʾ ע֧וֹד more, ʿôd וְלֹא nor lōʾ יֵחַ֛תּוּ be dismayed, ḥātat וְלֹ֥א neither lōʾ יִפָּקֵ֖דוּ shall they be lacking, pāqad נְאֻם saith nĕʾum יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ
  5. הִנֵּ֨ה Behold, hinnē יָמִ֤ים the days yôm בָּאִים֙ come, bôʾ נְאֻם saith nĕʾum יְהוָ֔ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ וַהֲקִמֹתִ֥י that I will raise qûm לְדָוִ֖ד unto David dāwid צֶ֣מַח Branch, ṣemaḥ צַדִּ֑יק a righteous ṣaddîq וּמָ֤לַךְ shall reign mālak מֶ֙לֶךְ֙ and a King melek וְהִשְׂכִּ֔יל and prosper, śākal וְעָשָׂ֛ה and shall execute ʿāśâ מִשְׁפָּ֥ט judgment mišpāṭ וּצְדָקָ֖ה and justice ṣĕdāqâ בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ in the earth. ʾereṣ
  6. בְּיָמָיו֙ In his days yôm תִּוָּשַׁ֣ע shall be saved, yāšaʿ יְהוּדָ֔ה Judah yĕhûdâ וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל and Israel yiśrāʾēl יִשְׁכֹּ֣ן shall dwell šākan לָבֶ֑טַח safely: beṭaḥ וְזֶה and this ze שְּׁמ֥וֹ his name šēm אֲֽשֶׁר whereby ʾăšer יִקְרְא֖וֹ he shall be called, qārāʾ יְהוָ֥ה׀ THE LORD yĕhōwâ צִדְקֵֽנוּ׃ OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. ṣedeq
  7. לָכֵ֛ן Therefore, kēn הִנֵּֽה behold, hinnē יָמִ֥ים the days yôm בָּאִ֖ים come, bôʾ נְאֻם saith nĕʾum יְהוָ֑ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ וְלֹא that they shall no lōʾ יֹ֤אמְרוּ say, ʾāmar עוֹד֙ more ʿôd חַי liveth, ḥay יְהוָ֔ה The Lord yĕhōwâ אֲשֶׁ֧ר which ʾăšer הֶעֱלָ֛ה brought up ʿālâ אֶת ʾēt בְּנֵ֥י the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel yiśrāʾēl מֵאֶ֥רֶץ out of the land ʾereṣ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ of Egypt; miṣrayim
  8. כִּ֣י But, אִם ʾim חַי liveth, ḥay יְהוָ֗ה The Lord yĕhōwâ אֲשֶׁ֣ר which ʾăšer הֶעֱלָה֩ brought up ʿālâ וַאֲשֶׁ֨ר and which ʾăšer הֵבִ֜יא led bôʾ אֶת ʾēt זֶ֨רַע the seed zeraʿ בֵּ֤ית of the house bayit יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ of Israel yiśrāʾēl מֵאֶ֣רֶץ country, ʾereṣ צָפ֔וֹנָה out of the north ṣāpôn וּמִכֹּל֙ and from all kōl הָֽאֲרָצ֔וֹת countries ʾereṣ אֲשֶׁ֥ר whither ʾăšer הִדַּחְתִּ֖ים I had driven nādaḥ שָׁ֑ם šām וְיָשְׁב֖וּ them; and they shall dwell yāšab עַל in ʿal אַדְמָתָֽם׃ their own land. ʾădāmâ
  9. לַנְּבִאִ֞ים because of the prophets; nābîʾ נִשְׁבַּ֧ר me is broken šābar לִבִּ֣י Mine heart lēb בְקִרְבִּ֗י within qereb רָֽחֲפוּ֙ shake; rāḥap כָּל all kōl עַצְמוֹתַ֔י my bones ʿeṣem הָיִ֙יתִי֙ I am hāyâ כְּאִ֣ישׁ man, ʾîš שִׁכּ֔וֹר like a drunken šikkôr וּכְגֶ֖בֶר and like a man geber עֲבָ֣רוֹ hath overcome, ʿābar יָ֑יִן whom wine yayin מִפְּנֵ֣י because pānîm יְהוָ֔ה of the Lord, yĕhōwâ וּמִפְּנֵ֖י and because pānîm דִּבְרֵ֥י of the words dābār קָדְשֽׁוֹ׃ of his holiness. qōdeš
  10. כִּ֤י For מְנָֽאֲפִים֙ of adulterers; nāʾap מָלְאָ֣ה is full mālēʾ הָאָ֔רֶץ the land ʾereṣ כִּֽי for מִפְּנֵ֤י because pānîm אָלָה֙ of swearing ʾālâ אָבְלָ֣ה mourneth; ʾābal הָאָ֔רֶץ the land ʾereṣ יָבְשׁ֖וּ are dried up, yābēš נְא֣וֹת the pleasant places nāʾâ מִדְבָּ֑ר of the wilderness midbār וַתְּהִ֤י is hāyâ מְרֽוּצָתָם֙ and their course mĕrûṣâ רָעָ֔ה evil, raʿ וּגְבוּרָתָ֖ם and their force gĕbûrâ לֹא not right. lōʾ כֵֽן׃ kēn
  11. כִּֽי For גַם both gam נָבִ֥יא prophet nābîʾ גַם and gam כֹּהֵ֖ן priest kōhēn חָנֵ֑פוּ are profane; ḥānēp גַּם yea, gam בְּבֵיתִ֛י in my house bayit מָצָ֥אתִי have I found māṣāʾ רָעָתָ֖ם their wickedness, raʿ נְאֻם saith nĕʾum יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ
  12. לָכֵן֩ Wherefore kēn יִֽהְיֶ֨ה shall be hāyâ דַרְכָּ֜ם their way derek לָהֶ֗ם hēm כַּחֲלַקְלַקּוֹת֙ unto them as slippery ḥălaqlaqqâ בָּֽאֲפֵלָ֔ה in the darkness: ʾăpēlâ יִדַּ֖חוּ they shall be driven on, dāḥâ וְנָ֣פְלוּ and fall nāpal בָ֑הּ כִּֽי therein: for אָבִ֨יא I will bring bôʾ עֲלֵיהֶ֥ם upon ʿal רָעָ֛ה evil raʿ שְׁנַ֥ת them, the year šāne פְּקֻדָּתָ֖ם of their visitation, pĕquddâ נְאֻם saith nĕʾum יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ
  13. וּבִנְבִיאֵ֥י in the prophets nābîʾ שֹׁמְר֖וֹן of Samaria; šōmĕrôn רָאִ֣יתִי And I have seen rāʾâ תִפְלָ֑ה folly tiplâ הִנַּבְּא֣וּ they prophesied nābāʾ בַבַּ֔עַל in Baal, baʿal וַיַּתְע֥וּ to err. tāʿâ אֶת and caused ʾēt עַמִּ֖י my people ʿam אֶת ʾēt יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Israel yiśrāʾēl
  14. וּבִנְבִאֵ֨י also in the prophets nābîʾ יְרוּשָׁלִַ֜ם of Jerusalem yĕrûšālaim רָאִ֣יתִי I have seen rāʾâ שַׁעֲרוּרָ֗ה an horrible thing: šaʿărûrâ נָא֞וֹף they commit adultery, nāʾap וְהָלֹ֤ךְ and walk hālak בַּשֶּׁ֙קֶר֙ in lies: šeqer וְחִזְּקוּ֙ they strengthen ḥāzaq יְדֵ֣י also the hands yād מְרֵעִ֔ים of evildoers, rāʿaʿ לְבִ֨לְתִּי biltî שָׁ֔בוּ doth return šûb אִ֖ישׁ that none ʾîš מֵרָֽעָת֑וֹ from his wickedness: raʿ הָֽיוּ they are hāyâ לִ֤י כֻלָּם֙ all kōl כִּסְדֹ֔ם of them unto me as Sodom, sĕdōm וְיֹשְׁבֶ֖יהָ and the inhabitants yāšab כַּעֲמֹרָֽה׃ thereof as Gomorrah. ʿămōrâ
  15. לָכֵ֞ן Therefore kēn כֹּֽה thus אָמַ֨ר saith ʾāmar יְהוָ֤ה the Lord yĕhōwâ צְבָאוֹת֙ of hosts ṣābāʾ עַל concerning ʿal הַנְּבִאִ֔ים the prophets; nābîʾ הִנְנִ֨י Behold, hēn מַאֲכִ֤יל I will feed ʾākal אוֹתָם֙ from ʾēt לַֽעֲנָ֔ה them with wormwood, laʿănâ וְהִשְׁקִתִ֖ים and make them drink šāqâ מֵי the water mayim רֹ֑אשׁ of gall: rōš כִּ֗י for מֵאֵת֙ ʾēt נְבִיאֵ֣י the prophets nābîʾ יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם of Jerusalem yĕrûšālaim יָצְאָ֥ה gone forth yāṣāʾ חֲנֻפָּ֖ה is profaneness ḥănupâ לְכָל into all kōl הָאָֽרֶץ׃ the land. ʾereṣ
  16. כֹּֽה Thus אָמַ֞ר saith ʾāmar יְהוָ֣ה the Lord yĕhōwâ צְבָא֗וֹת of hosts, ṣābāʾ אַֽל not ʾal תִּשְׁמְע֞וּ Hearken šāmaʿ עַל unto ʿal דִּבְרֵ֤י the words dābār הַנְּבִאִים֙ of the prophets nābîʾ הַנִּבְּאִ֣ים that prophesy nābāʾ לָכֶ֔ם מַהְבִּלִ֥ים unto you: they make you vain: hābal הֵ֖מָּה they hēm אֶתְכֶ֑ם ʾēt חֲז֤וֹן a vision ḥāzôn לִבָּם֙ of their own heart, lēb יְדַבֵּ֔רוּ speak dābar לֹ֖א not lōʾ מִפִּ֥י out of the mouth pe יְהוָֽה׃ of the Lord. yĕhōwâ
  17. אֹמְרִ֤ים They say ʾāmar אָמוֹר֙ still ʾāmar לִֽמְנַאֲצַ֔י unto them that despise nāʾaṣ דִּבֶּ֣ר hath said, dābar יְהוָ֔ה me, The Lord yĕhōwâ שָׁל֖וֹם peace; šālôm יִֽהְיֶ֣ה Ye shall have hāyâ לָכֶ֑ם וְ֠כֹל unto every one kōl הֹלֵ֞ךְ that walketh hālak בִּשְׁרִר֤וּת after the imagination šĕrîrût לִבּוֹ֙ of his own heart, lēb אָֽמְר֔וּ and they say ʾāmar לֹֽא No lōʾ תָב֥וֹא shall come bôʾ עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם upon you. ʿal רָעָֽה׃ evil raʿ
  18. כִּ֣י For מִ֤י who עָמַד֙ hath stood ʿāmad בְּס֣וֹד in the counsel sôd יְהוָ֔ה of the Lord, yĕhōwâ וְיֵ֖רֶא and hath perceived rāʾâ וְיִשְׁמַ֣ע and heard šāmaʿ אֶת ʾēt דְּבָר֑וֹ his word? dābār מִֽי who הִקְשִׁ֥יב hath marked qāšab דְּבָר֖יֹ his word, dābār וַיִּשְׁמָֽע׃ and heard šāmaʿ
  19. הִנֵּ֣ה׀ Behold, hinnē סַעֲרַ֣ת a whirlwind saʿar יְהוָ֗ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ חֵמָה֙ in fury, ḥēmâ יָֽצְאָ֔ה is gone forth yāṣāʾ וְסַ֖עַר whirlwind: saʿar מִתְחוֹלֵ֑ל even a grievous ḥûl עַ֛ל upon ʿal רֹ֥אשׁ the head rōš רְשָׁעִ֖ים of the wicked. rāšāʿ יָחֽוּל׃ it shall fall grievously ḥûl
  20. לֹ֤א shall not lōʾ יָשׁוּב֙ return, šûb אַף The anger ʾap יְהוָ֔ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ עַד until ʿad עֲשֹׂת֥וֹ he have executed, ʿāśâ וְעַד and till ʿad הֲקִימ֖וֹ he have performed qûm מְזִמּ֣וֹת the thoughts mĕzimmâ לִבּ֑וֹ of his heart: lēb בְּאַֽחֲרִית֙ in the latter ʾaḥărît הַיָּמִ֔ים days yôm תִּתְבּ֥וֹנְנוּ ye shall consider bîn בָ֖הּ בִּינָֽה׃ it perfectly. bînâ
  21. לֹא I have not lōʾ שָׁלַ֥חְתִּי sent šālaḥ אֶת ʾēt הַנְּבִאִ֖ים these prophets, nābîʾ וְהֵ֣ם yet they hēm רָ֑צוּ ran: rûṣ לֹא I have not lōʾ דִבַּ֥רְתִּי spoken dābar אֲלֵיהֶ֖ם to ʾēl וְהֵ֥ם them, yet they hēm נִבָּֽאוּ׃ prophesied. nābāʾ
  22. וְאִֽם But if ʾim עָמְד֖וּ they had stood ʿāmad בְּסוֹדִ֑י in my counsel, sôd וְיַשְׁמִ֤עוּ to hear šāmaʿ דְבָרַי֙ my words, dābār אֶת and had caused ʾēt עַמִּ֔י my people ʿam וִֽישִׁבוּם֙ then they should have turned šûb מִדַּרְכָּ֣ם way, derek הָרָ֔ע them from their evil raʿ וּמֵרֹ֖עַ and from the evil rōaʿ מַֽעַלְלֵיהֶֽם׃ of their doings. maʿălāl
  23. הַאֱלֹהֵ֧י a God ʾĕlōhîm מִקָּרֹ֛ב at hand, qārôb אָ֖נִי I ʾănî נְאֻם saith nĕʾum יְהוָ֑ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ וְלֹ֥א and not lōʾ אֱלֹהֵ֖י a God ʾĕlōhîm מֵרָחֹֽק׃ afar off? rāḥôq
  24. אִם Can ʾim יִסָּתֵ֨ר hide himself sātar אִ֧ישׁ any ʾîš בַּמִּסְתָּרִ֛ים in secret places mistār וַאֲנִ֥י that I ʾănî לֹֽא shall not lōʾ אֶרְאֶ֖נּוּ see rāʾâ נְאֻם him? saith nĕʾum יְהוָ֑ה the Lord. yĕhōwâ הֲל֨וֹא Do not lōʾ אֶת ʾēt הַשָּׁמַ֧יִם heaven šāmayim וְאֶת ʾēt הָאָ֛רֶץ and earth? ʾereṣ אֲנִ֥י I ʾănî מָלֵ֖א fill mālēʾ נְאֻם saith nĕʾum יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ
  25. שָׁמַ֗עְתִּי I have heard šāmaʿ אֵ֤ת ʾēt אֲשֶׁר what ʾăšer אָֽמְרוּ֙ said, ʾāmar הַנְּבִאִ֔ים the prophets nābîʾ הַֽנִּבְּאִ֥ים that prophesy nābāʾ בִּשְׁמִ֛י in my name, šēm שֶׁ֖קֶר lies šeqer לֵאמֹ֑ר saying, ʾāmar חָלַ֖מְתִּי I have dreamed, ḥālam חָלָֽמְתִּי׃ I have dreamed. ḥālam
  26. עַד How long ʿad מָתַ֗י mātay הֲיֵ֛שׁ shall be yēš בְּלֵ֥ב in the heart lēb הַנְּבִאִ֖ים of the prophets nābîʾ נִבְּאֵ֣י that prophesy nābāʾ הַשָּׁ֑קֶר lies? šeqer וּנְבִיאֵ֖י yea, prophets nābîʾ תַּרְמִ֥ת of the deceit tormâ לִבָּֽם׃ of their own heart; lēb
  27. הַחֹשְׁבִ֗ים Which think ḥāšab לְהַשְׁכִּ֤יחַ to forget šākaḥ אֶת to cause ʾēt עַמִּי֙ my people ʿam שְׁמִ֔י my name šēm בַּחֲל֣וֹמֹתָ֔ם by their dreams ḥălôm אֲשֶׁ֥ר which ʾăšer יְסַפְּר֖וּ they tell sāpar אִ֣ישׁ every man ʾîš לְרֵעֵ֑הוּ to his neighbour, rēaʿ כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר as ʾăšer שָׁכְח֧וּ have forgotten šākaḥ אֲבוֹתָ֛ם their fathers ʾāb אֶת ʾēt שְׁמִ֖י my name šēm בַּבָּֽעַל׃ for Baal. baʿal
  28. הַנָּבִ֞יא The prophet nābîʾ אֲשֶׁר that ʾăšer אִתּ֤וֹ ʾēt חֲלוֹם֙ hath a dream, ḥălôm יְסַפֵּ֣ר let him tell sāpar חֲל֔וֹם a dream; ḥălôm וַאֲשֶׁ֤ר and he that ʾăšer דְּבָרִי֙ hath my word, dābār אִתּ֔וֹ ʾēt יְדַבֵּ֥ר let him speak dābar דְּבָרִ֖י my word dābār אֱמֶ֑ת faithfully. ʾemet מַה What לַתֶּ֥בֶן the chaff teben אֶת to ʾēt הַבָּ֖ר the wheat? bār נְאֻם saith nĕʾum יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ
  29. הֲל֨וֹא not lōʾ כֹ֧ה like דְבָרִ֛י my word dābār כָּאֵ֖שׁ as a fire? ʾēš נְאֻם saith nĕʾum יְהוָ֑ה the Lord; yĕhōwâ וּכְפַטִּ֖ישׁ and like a hammer paṭṭîš יְפֹ֥צֵֽץ breaketh pieces? pûṣ סָֽלַע׃ the rock in selaʿ
  30. לָכֵ֛ן Therefore, kēn הִנְנִ֥י behold, hēn עַל I against ʿal הַנְּבִאִ֖ים the prophets, nābîʾ נְאֻם saith nĕʾum יְהוָ֑ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ מְגַנְּבֵ֣י that steal gānab דְבָרַ֔י my words dābār אִ֖ישׁ every one ʾîš מֵאֵ֥ת from ʾēt רֵעֵֽהוּ׃ his neighbour. rēaʿ
  31. הִנְנִ֥י Behold, hēn עַל I against ʿal הַנְּבִיאִ֖ם the prophets, nābîʾ נְאֻם saith nĕʾum יְהוָ֑ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ הַלֹּקְחִ֣ים that use lāqaḥ לְשׁוֹנָ֔ם their tongues, lāšôn וַֽיִּנְאֲמ֖וּ and say, nāʾam נְאֻֽם׃ He saith. nĕʾum
  32. הִ֠נְנִי Behold, hēn עַֽל I against ʿal נִבְּאֵ֞י them that prophesy nābāʾ חֲלֹמ֥וֹת dreams, ḥălôm שֶׁ֙קֶר֙ false šeqer נְאֻם saith nĕʾum יְהוָ֔ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ וַֽיְסַפְּרוּם֙ and do tell sāpar וַיַּתְע֣וּ to err tāʿâ אֶת them, and cause ʾēt עַמִּ֔י my people ʿam בְּשִׁקְרֵיהֶ֖ם by their lies, šeqer וּבְפַחֲזוּתָ֑ם and by their lightness; paḥăzût וְאָנֹכִ֨י yet I ʾānōkî לֹֽא them not, lōʾ שְׁלַחְתִּ֜ים sent šālaḥ וְלֹ֣א nor lōʾ צִוִּיתִ֗ים commanded ṣāwâ וְהוֹעֵ֛יל profit yāʿal לֹֽא them: therefore they shall not lōʾ יוֹעִ֥ילוּ at all, yāʿal לָֽעָם this people ʿam הַזֶּ֖ה ze נְאֻם saith nĕʾum יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ
  33. וְכִי And when יִשְׁאָלְךָ֩ shall ask šāʾal הָעָ֨ם people, ʿam הַזֶּ֜ה this ze אֽוֹ or ʾô הַנָּבִ֤יא the prophet, nābîʾ אֽוֹ or ʾô כֹהֵן֙ a priest, kōhēn לֵאמֹ֔ר thee, saying, ʾāmar מַה What מַשָּׂ֖א the burden maśśāʾ יְהוָ֑ה of the Lord? yĕhōwâ וְאָמַרְתָּ֤ thou shalt then say ʾāmar אֲלֵיהֶם֙ unto ʾēl אֶת them, ʾēt מַה What מַשָּׂ֔א burden? maśśāʾ וְנָטַשְׁתִּ֥י I will even forsake nāṭaš אֶתְכֶ֖ם ʾēt נְאֻם you, saith nĕʾum יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ
  34. וְהַנָּבִ֤יא And the prophet, nābîʾ וְהַכֹּהֵן֙ and the priest, kōhēn וְהָעָ֔ם and the people, ʿam אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ʾăšer יֹאמַ֖ר shall say, ʾāmar מַשָּׂ֣א The burden maśśāʾ יְהוָ֑ה of the Lord, yĕhōwâ וּפָקַדְתִּ֛י I will even punish pāqad עַל ʿal הָאִ֥ישׁ man ʾîš הַה֖וּא that hûʾ וְעַל ʿal בֵּיתֽוֹ׃ and his house. bayit
  35. כֹּ֥ה Thus תֹאמְר֛וּ shall ye say ʾāmar אִ֥ישׁ every one ʾîš עַל to ʿal רֵעֵ֖הוּ his neighbour, rēaʿ וְאִ֣ישׁ and every one ʾîš אֶל to ʾēl אָחִ֑יו his brother, ʾāḥ מֶה What עָנָ֣ה answered? ʿānâ יְהוָ֔ה hath the Lord yĕhōwâ וּמַה and, What דִּבֶּ֖ר spoken? dābar יְהוָֽה׃ hath the Lord yĕhōwâ
  36. וּמַשָּׂ֥א And the burden maśśāʾ יְהוָ֖ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ לֹ֣א no lōʾ תִזְכְּרוּ shall ye mention zākar ע֑וֹד more: ʿôd כִּ֣י for הַמַּשָּׂ֗א his burden; maśśāʾ יִֽהְיֶה֙ shall be hāyâ לְאִ֣ישׁ every man's ʾîš דְּבָר֔וֹ word dābār וַהֲפַכְתֶּ֗ם for ye have perverted hāpak אֶת ʾēt דִּבְרֵי֙ the words dābār אֱלֹהִ֣ים God, ʾĕlōhîm חַיִּ֔ים of the living ḥay יְהוָ֥ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ צְבָא֖וֹת of hosts ṣābāʾ אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ our God. ʾĕlōhîm
  37. כֹּ֥ה Thus תֹאמַ֖ר shalt thou say ʾāmar אֶל to ʾēl הַנָּבִ֑יא the prophet, nābîʾ מֶה What עָנָ֣ךְ answered ʿānâ יְהוָ֔ה hath the Lord yĕhōwâ וּמַה thee? and, What דִּבֶּ֖ר spoken? dābar יְהוָֽה׃ hath the Lord yĕhōwâ
  38. וְאִם But since ʾim מַשָּׂ֣א The burden maśśāʾ יְהוָה֮ of the Lord; yĕhōwâ תֹּאמֵרוּ֒ ye say, ʾāmar לָכֵ֗ן therefore kēn כֹּ֚ה thus אָמַ֣ר saith ʾāmar יְהוָ֔ה the Lord; yĕhōwâ יַ֧עַן Because yaʿan אֲמָרְכֶ֛ם ye say ʾāmar אֶת ʾēt הַדָּבָ֥ר word, dābār הַזֶּ֖ה this ze מַשָּׂ֣א The burden maśśāʾ יְהוָ֑ה of the Lord, yĕhōwâ וָאֶשְׁלַ֤ח and I have sent šālaḥ אֲלֵיכֶם֙ unto ʾēl לֵאמֹ֔ר you, saying, ʾāmar לֹ֥א Ye shall not lōʾ תֹאמְר֖וּ say, ʾāmar מַשָּׂ֥א The burden maśśāʾ יְהוָֽה׃ of the Lord; yĕhōwâ
  39. לָכֵ֣ן Therefore, kēn הִנְנִ֔י behold, hēn וְנָשִׁ֥יתִי forget nāšâ אֶתְכֶ֖ם ʾēt נָשֹׁ֑א I, even I, will utterly nāšāʾ וְנָטַשְׁתִּ֣י you, and I will forsake nāṭaš אֶתְכֶ֗ם ʾēt וְאֶת ʾēt הָעִיר֙ you, and the city ʿîr אֲשֶׁ֨ר that ʾăšer נָתַ֧תִּי I gave nātan לָכֶ֛ם וְלַאֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם you and your fathers, ʾāb מֵעַ֥ל out of ʿal פָּנָֽי׃ my presence: pānîm
  40. וְנָתַתִּ֥י And I will bring nātan עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם upon ʿal חֶרְפַּ֣ת reproach ḥerpâ עוֹלָ֑ם an everlasting ʿôlām וּכְלִמּ֣וּת shame, kĕlimmût עוֹלָ֔ם you, and a perpetual ʿôlām אֲשֶׁ֖ר which ʾăšer לֹ֥א shall not lōʾ תִשָּׁכֵֽחַ׃ be forgotten. šākaḥ
