எரேமியா 22:9
அதற்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: அவர்கள் தங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரின் உடன்படிக்கையை விட்டுவிட்டு, அந்நிய தேவர்களைப் பணிந்துகொண்டு, அவைகளுக்கு ஆராதனைசெய்தபடியினால் இப்படியாயிற்று என்பார்களென்று சொல்லுகிறார்.

அதற்கு மறுமொழியாக: அவர்கள் தங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரின் உடன்படிக்கையை விட்டுவிட்டு, அந்நிய தெய்வங்களைப் பணிந்துகொண்டு, அவைகளுக்கு ஆராதனை செய்ததினால் இப்படியானது என்பார்கள் என்று சொல்லுகிறார்.

அந்த வினாவிற்கு இதுதான் பதில்: ‘தேவன் எருசலேமை அழித்தார். ஏனென்றால், யூதாவின் ஜனங்கள் அவர்களின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய உடன்படிக்கையைப் பின்பற்றாமல் விட்டுவிட்டனர். அந்த ஜனங்கள் அந்நிய தெய்வங்களைத் தொழுதுகொண்டு சேவை செய்தனர்.’”
