נִדְרַ֙שְׁתִּי֙ I am sought dāraš לְל֣וֹא not lōʾ שָׁאָ֔לוּ of asked šāʾal נִמְצֵ֖אתִי I am found māṣāʾ לְלֹ֣א me not: lōʾ בִקְשֻׁ֑נִי of sought bāqaš אָמַ֙רְתִּי֙ I said, ʾāmar הִנֵּ֣נִי Behold hēn הִנֵּ֔נִי me, behold hēn אֶל me, unto ʾēl גּ֖וֹי a nation gôy לֹֽא was not lōʾ קֹרָ֥א called qārāʾ בִשְׁמִֽי׃ by my name. šēm

פֵּרַ֧שְׂתִּי I have spread out pāraś יָדַ֛י my hands yād כָּל all kōl הַיּ֖וֹם the day yôm אֶל unto ʾēl עַ֣ם people, ʿam סוֹרֵ֑ר a rebellious sārar הַהֹלְכִים֙ which walketh hālak הַדֶּ֣רֶךְ in a way derek לֹא not lōʾ ט֔וֹב good, ṭôb אַחַ֖ר after ʾaḥar מַחְשְׁבֹתֵיהֶֽם׃ their own thoughts; maḥăšābâ

הָעָ֗ם A people ʿam הַמַּכְעִסִ֥ים that provoketh me to anger kaʿas אֹתִ֛י ʾēt עַל to ʿal פָּנַ֖י my face; pānîm תָּמִ֑יד continually tāmîd זֹֽבְחִים֙ that sacrificeth zābaḥ בַּגַּנּ֔וֹת in gardens, gannâ וּֽמְקַטְּרִ֖ים and burneth incense qāṭar עַל upon ʿal הַלְּבֵנִֽים׃ altars of brick; lĕbēnâ

הַיֹּֽשְׁבִים֙ Which remain yāšab בַּקְּבָרִ֔ים among the graves, qeber וּבַנְּצוּרִ֖ים in the monuments, nāṣar יָלִ֑ינוּ and lodge lûn הָאֹֽכְלִים֙ which eat ʾākal בְּשַׂ֣ר flesh, bāśār הַחֲזִ֔יר swine's ḥăzîr וּפְרַ֥ק and broth pārāq פִּגֻּלִ֖ים of abominable piggûl כְּלֵיהֶֽם׃ their vessels; kĕlî

הָאֹֽמְרִים֙ Which say, ʾāmar קְרַ֣ב Stand qārab אֵלֶ֔יךָ by ʾēl אַל ʾal תִּגַּשׁ thyself, come not near nāgaš בִּ֖י כִּ֣י to me; for kî קְדַשְׁתִּ֑יךָ I am holier qādaš אֵ֚לֶּה than thou. These ʾēlle עָשָׁ֣ן a smoke ʿāšān בְּאַפִּ֔י in my nose, ʾap אֵ֥שׁ a fire ʾēš יֹקֶ֖דֶת that burneth yāqad כָּל all kōl הַיּֽוֹם׃ the day. yôm

הִנֵּ֥ה Behold, hinnē כְתוּבָ֖ה written kātab לְפָנָ֑י before pānîm לֹ֤א me: I will not lōʾ אֶחֱשֶׂה֙ keep silence, ḥāšâ כִּ֣י but kî אִם ʾim שִׁלַּ֔מְתִּי will recompense, šālam וְשִׁלַּמְתִּ֖י even recompense šālam עַל into ʿal חֵיקָֽם׃ their bosom, ḥêq

עֲ֠וֹנֹֽתֵיכֶם Your iniquities, ʿāwōn וַעֲוֺנֹ֨ת and the iniquities ʿāwōn אֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֤ם of your fathers ʾāb יַחְדָּו֙ together, yaḥad אָמַ֣ר saith ʾāmar יְהוָ֔ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ אֲשֶׁ֤ר which ʾăšer קִטְּרוּ֙ have burned incense qāṭar עַל upon ʿal הֶ֣הָרִ֔ים the mountains, har וְעַל me upon ʿal הַגְּבָע֖וֹת the hills: gibʿâ חֵרְפ֑וּנִי and blasphemed ḥārap וּמַדֹּתִ֧י therefore will I measure mādad פְעֻלָּתָ֛ם work pĕʿullâ רִֽאשֹׁנָ֖ה their former riʾšôn עֶל into ʿal חֵיקָֽם׃ their bosom. ḥêq

כֹּ֣ה׀ Thus kō אָמַ֣ר saith ʾāmar יְהוָ֗ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר As ʾăšer יִמָּצֵ֤א is found māṣāʾ הַתִּירוֹשׁ֙ the new wine tîrôš בָּֽאֶשְׁכּ֔וֹל in the cluster, ʾeškôl וְאָמַר֙ and saith, ʾāmar אַל it not; ʾal תַּשְׁחִיתֵ֔הוּ Destroy šāḥat כִּ֥י for kî בְרָכָ֖ה a blessing bĕrākâ בּ֑וֹ כֵּ֤ן in it: so kēn אֶֽעֱשֶׂה֙ will I do ʿāśâ לְמַ֣עַן sakes, maʿan עֲבָדַ֔י for my servants' ʿebed לְבִלְתִּ֖י that I may not biltî הַֽשְׁחִ֥ית destroy them all. šāḥat הַכֹּֽל׃ kōl

וְהוֹצֵאתִ֤י And I will bring forth yāṣāʾ מִֽיַּעֲקֹב֙ out of Jacob, yaʿăqōb זֶ֔רַע a seed zeraʿ וּמִיהוּדָ֖ה and out of Judah yĕhûdâ יוֹרֵ֣שׁ an inheritor yāraš הָרָ֑י of my mountains: har וִירֵשׁ֣וּהָ shall inherit yāraš בְחִירַ֔י and mine elect bāḥîr וַעֲבָדַ֖י it, and my servants ʿebed יִשְׁכְּנוּ shall dwell there. šākan שָֽׁמָּה׃ šām

וְהָיָ֤ה shall be hāyâ הַשָּׁרוֹן֙ And Sharon šārôn לִנְוֵה a fold nāwe צֹ֔אן of flocks, ṣōn וְעֵ֥מֶק and the valley ʿēmeq עָכ֖וֹר of Achor ʿākôr לְרֵ֣בֶץ to lie down in, rēbeṣ בָּקָ֑ר a place for the herds bāqār לְעַמִּ֖י for my people ʿam אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ʾăšer דְּרָשֽׁוּנִי׃ have sought me. dāraš

וְאַתֶּם֙ But ye ʾattâ עֹזְבֵ֣י they that forsake ʿāzab יְהוָ֔ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ הַשְּׁכֵחִ֖ים that forget šākēaḥ אֶת ʾēt הַ֣ר mountain, har קָדְשִׁ֑י my holy qōdeš הַֽעֹרְכִ֤ים that prepare ʿārak לַגַּד֙ for that troop, gād שֻׁלְחָ֔ן a table šulḥān וְהַֽמְמַלְאִ֖ים and that furnish mālēʾ לַמְנִ֥י unto that number. mĕnî מִמְסָֽךְ׃ the drink offering mamsok

וּמָנִ֨יתִי Therefore will I number mānâ אֶתְכֶ֜ם ʾēt לַחֶ֗רֶב you to the sword, ḥereb וְכֻלְּכֶם֙ and ye shall all kōl לַטֶּ֣בַח to the slaughter: ṭebaḥ תִּכְרָ֔עוּ bow down kāraʿ יַ֤עַן because yaʿan קָרָ֙אתִי֙ when I called, qārāʾ וְלֹ֣א ye did not lōʾ עֲנִיתֶ֔ם answer; ʿānâ דִּבַּ֖רְתִּי when I spake, dābar וְלֹ֣א ye did not lōʾ שְׁמַעְתֶּ֑ם hear; šāmaʿ וַתַּעֲשׂ֤וּ but did ʿāśâ הָרַע֙ evil raʿ בְּעֵינַ֔י before mine eyes, ʿayin וּבַאֲשֶׁ֥ר wherein ʾăšer לֹֽא lōʾ חָפַ֖צְתִּי I delighted not. ḥāpēṣ בְּחַרְתֶּֽם׃ and did choose bāḥar

לָכֵ֞ן Therefore kēn כֹּה thus kō אָמַ֣ר׀ saith ʾāmar אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֗ה God, yĕhōwi הִנֵּ֨ה Behold, hinnē עֲבָדַ֤י׀ my servants ʿebed יֹאכֵ֙לוּ֙ shall eat, ʾākal וְאַתֶּ֣ם but ye ʾattâ תִּרְעָ֔בוּ shall be hungry: rāʿēb הִנֵּ֧ה behold, hinnē עֲבָדַ֛י my servants ʿebed יִשְׁתּ֖וּ shall drink, šātâ וְאַתֶּ֣ם but ye ʾattâ תִּצְמָ֑אוּ shall be thirsty: ṣāmēʾ הִנֵּ֧ה behold, hinnē עֲבָדַ֛י my servants ʿebed יִשְׂמָ֖חוּ shall rejoice, śāmaḥ וְאַתֶּ֥ם but ye ʾattâ תֵּבֹֽשׁוּ׃ shall be ashamed: bûš

הִנֵּ֧ה Behold, hinnē עֲבָדַ֛י my servants ʿebed יָרֹ֖נּוּ shall sing rānan מִטּ֣וּב for joy ṭûb לֵ֑ב of heart, lēb וְאַתֶּ֤ם but ye ʾattâ תִּצְעֲקוּ֙ shall cry ṣāʿaq מִכְּאֵ֣ב for sorrow kĕʾēb לֵ֔ב of heart, lēb וּמִשֵּׁ֥בֶר for vexation šeber ר֖וּחַ of spirit. rûaḥ תְּיֵלִֽילוּ׃ and shall howl yālal

וְהִנַּחְתֶּ֨ם And ye shall leave yānaḥ שִׁמְכֶ֤ם your name šēm לִשְׁבוּעָה֙ for a curse šĕbûʿâ לִבְחִירַ֔י unto my chosen: bāḥîr וֶהֱמִיתְךָ֖ shall slay mût אֲדֹנָ֣י for the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֑ה God yĕhōwi וְלַעֲבָדָ֥יו his servants ʿebed יִקְרָ֖א thee, and call qārāʾ שֵׁ֥ם name: šēm אַחֵֽר׃ by another ʾaḥēr

אֲשֶׁ֨ר That he who ʾăšer הַמִּתְבָּרֵ֜ךְ blesseth himself bārak בָּאָ֗רֶץ in the earth ʾereṣ יִתְבָּרֵךְ֙ shall bless himself bārak בֵּאלֹהֵ֣י in the God ʾĕlōhîm אָמֵ֔ן of truth; ʾāmēn וְהַנִּשְׁבָּ֣ע and he that sweareth šābaʿ בָּאָ֔רֶץ in the earth ʾereṣ יִשָּׁבַ֖ע shall swear šābaʿ בֵּאלֹהֵ֣י by the God ʾĕlōhîm אָמֵ֑ן of truth; ʾāmēn כִּ֣י because kî נִשְׁכְּח֗וּ are forgotten, šākaḥ הַצָּרוֹת֙ troubles ṣārâ הָרִ֣אשֹׁנ֔וֹת the former riʾšôn וְכִ֥י and because kî נִסְתְּר֖וּ they are hid sātar מֵעֵינָֽי׃ from mine eyes. ʿayin

כִּֽי For, kî הִנְנִ֥י behold, hēn בוֹרֵ֛א I create bārāʾ שָׁמַ֥יִם heavens šāmayim חֲדָשִׁ֖ים new ḥādoš וָאָ֣רֶץ earth: ʾereṣ חֲדָשָׁ֑ה and a new ḥādoš וְלֹ֤א shall not lōʾ תִזָּכַ֙רְנָה֙ be remembered, zākar הָרִ֣אשֹׁנ֔וֹת and the former riʾšôn וְלֹ֥א nor lōʾ תַעֲלֶ֖ינָה come ʿālâ עַל into ʿal לֵֽב׃ mind. lēb

כִּֽי But kî אִם ʾim שִׂ֤ישׂוּ be ye glad śûś וְגִ֙ילוּ֙ and rejoice gîl עֲדֵי for ever ʿad עַ֔ד ʿad אֲשֶׁ֖ר which ʾăšer אֲנִ֣י I ʾănî בוֹרֵ֑א create: bārāʾ כִּי֩ for, kî הִנְנִ֨י behold, hēn בוֹרֵ֧א I create bārāʾ אֶת ʾēt יְרוּשָׁלִַ֛ם Jerusalem yĕrûšālaim גִּילָ֖ה a rejoicing, gîlâ וְעַמָּ֥הּ and her people ʿam מָשֽׂוֹשׂ׃ a joy. māśôś

וְגַלְתִּ֥י And I will rejoice gîl בִירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם in Jerusalem, yĕrûšālaim וְשַׂשְׂתִּ֣י and joy śûś בְעַמִּ֑י in my people: ʿam וְלֹֽא shall be no lōʾ יִשָּׁמַ֥ע heard šāmaʿ בָּהּ֙ ע֔וֹד more ʿôd ק֥וֹל and the voice qôl בְּכִ֖י of weeping bĕkî וְק֥וֹל in her, nor the voice qôl זְעָקָֽה׃ of crying. zaʿaq

לֹא no lōʾ יִֽהְיֶ֨ה There shall be hāyâ מִשָּׁ֜ם thence šām ע֗וֹד more ʿôd ע֤וּל an infant ʿûl יָמִים֙ of days, yôm וְזָקֵ֔ן nor an old man zāqēn אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ʾăšer לֹֽא hath not lōʾ יְמַלֵּ֖א filled mālēʾ אֶת ʾēt יָמָ֑יו his days: yôm כִּ֣י for kî הַנַּ֗עַר the child naʿar בֶּן old; bēn מֵאָ֤ה an hundred mēʾâ שָׁנָה֙ years šāne יָמ֔וּת shall die mût וְהַ֣חוֹטֶ֔א but the sinner ḥāṭāʾ בֶּן old bēn מֵאָ֥ה an hundred mēʾâ שָׁנָ֖ה years šāne יְקֻלָּֽל׃ shall be accursed. qālal

וּבָנ֥וּ And they shall build bānâ בָתִּ֖ים houses, bayit וְיָשָׁ֑בוּ and inhabit yāšab וְנָטְע֣וּ and they shall plant nāṭaʿ כְרָמִ֔ים vineyards, kerem וְאָכְל֖וּ and eat ʾākal פִּרְיָֽם׃ the fruit of them. pĕrî

לֹ֤א They shall not lōʾ יִבְנוּ֙ build, bānâ וְאַחֵ֣ר and another ʾaḥēr יֵשֵׁ֔ב inhabit; yāšab לֹ֥א they shall not lōʾ יִטְּע֖וּ plant, nāṭaʿ וְאַחֵ֣ר and another ʾaḥēr יֹאכֵ֑ל eat: ʾākal כִּֽי for kî כִימֵ֤י as the days yôm הָעֵץ֙ of a tree ʿēṣ יְמֵ֣י the days yôm עַמִּ֔י of my people, ʿam וּמַעֲשֵׂ֥ה the work maʿăśe יְדֵיהֶ֖ם of their hands. yād יְבַלּ֥וּ shall long enjoy bālâ בְחִירָֽי׃ and mine elect bāḥîr

לֹ֤א They shall not lōʾ יִֽיגְעוּ֙ labour yāgaʿ לָרִ֔יק in vain, rîq וְלֹ֥א nor lōʾ יֵלְד֖וּ bring forth yālad לַבֶּהָלָ֑ה for trouble; behālâ כִּ֣י for kî זֶ֜רַע the seed zeraʿ בְּרוּכֵ֤י of the blessed bārak יְהוָה֙ of the Lord, yĕhōwâ הֵ֔מָּה they hēm וְצֶאֱצָאֵיהֶ֖ם and their offspring ṣeʾĕṣāʾ אִתָּֽם׃ with them. ʾēt

וְהָיָ֥ה And it shall come to pass, hāyâ טֶֽרֶם that before ṭerem יִקְרָ֖אוּ they call, qārāʾ וַאֲנִ֣י I ʾănî אֶעֱנֶ֑ה will answer; ʿānâ ע֛וֹד are yet ʿôd הֵ֥ם and while they hēm מְדַבְּרִ֖ים speaking, dābar וַאֲנִ֥י I ʾănî אֶשְׁמָֽע׃ will hear. šāmaʿ

זְאֵ֨ב The wolf zĕʾēb וְטָלֶ֜ה and the lamb ṭāle יִרְע֣וּ shall feed rāʿâ כְאֶחָ֗ד together, ʾeḥād וְאַרְיֵה֙ and the lion ʾărî כַּבָּקָ֣ר like the bullock: bāqār יֹֽאכַל shall eat ʾākal תֶּ֔בֶן straw teben וְנָחָ֖שׁ the serpent's nāḥoš עָפָ֣ר and dust ʿāpār לַחְמ֑וֹ meat. leḥem לֹֽא They shall not lōʾ יָרֵ֧עוּ hurt rāʿaʿ וְלֹֽא nor lōʾ יַשְׁחִ֛יתוּ destroy šāḥat בְּכָל in all kōl הַ֥ר mountain, har קָדְשִׁ֖י my holy qōdeš אָמַ֥ר saith ʾāmar יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ
