நம்முடைய சகோதரனுக்கு நாம் செய்த துரோகம் நம்மேல் சுமந்தது; அவன் நம்மைக் கெஞ்சி வேண்டிக்கொண்டபோது, அவனுடைய மன வியாகுலத்தை நாம் கண்டும், அவனுக்குச் செவிகொடாமற்போனோமே; ஆகையால் இந்த ஆபத்து நமக்கு நேரிட்டது என்று ஒருவரை ஒருவர் பார்த்துச் சொல்லிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

நம்முடைய சகோதரனுக்கு நாம் செய்த துரோகம் நம்மேல் சுமந்தது; அவன் நம்மைக் கெஞ்சி வேண்டிக்கொண்டபோது, அவனுடைய மனவேதனையை நாம் கண்டும், அவன் சொல்லைக் கேட்காமற்போனோமே; ஆகையால் இந்த ஆபத்து நமக்கு நேரிட்டது என்று ஒருவரை ஒருவர் பார்த்துச் சொல்லிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

அவர்கள் ஒருவருக்கொருவர், “நாம் நமது இளைய சகோதரனுக்குச் செய்த தீமைக்கே இந்தத் தண்டனை. அவன் துன்பப்படுவதைப் பார்த்தோம். தன்னைக் காப்பாற்றும்படி அவன் எவ்வளவோ கெஞ்சினான். ஆனால் நாம் அவன் சொன்னதைக் கவனிக்க மறுத்துவிட்டோம். இப்போது அதற்கு அனுபவிக்கிறோம்” என்று பேசிக்கொண்டனர்.

Nammutaiya sakotharanukku naam seytha thurokam nammael sumanthathu; avan nammaik kenji vaenntikkonndapothu, avanutaiya mana viyaakulaththai naam kanndum, avanukkuch sevikodaamarponomae; aakaiyaal intha aapaththu namakku naerittathu entu oruvarai oruvar paarththuch sollikkonndaarkal.

one אִ֣ישׁ ʾîš eesh
to אֶל ʾēl ale

guilty אֲשֵׁמִ֣ים׀ ʾāšēm ah-SHAME
We אֲנַחְנוּ֮ ʾănaḥnû uh-nahk-NOO
concerning עַל ʿal al
our brother, אָחִינוּ֒ ʾāḥ ak
in that אֲשֶׁ֨ר ʾăšer uh-SHER
we saw רָאִ֜ינוּ rāʾâ ra-AH
the anguish צָרַ֥ת ṣārâ tsa-RA
of his soul, נַפְשׁ֛וֹ nepeš neh-FESH
when he besought בְּהִתְחַֽנְנ֥וֹ ḥānan ha-NAHN
אֵלֵ֖ינוּ ʾēl ale
us, and we would not וְלֹ֣א lōʾ loh
hear; שָׁמָ֑עְנוּ šāmaʿ sha-MA
