சேலா பெரியவனாகியும் தான் அவனுக்கு மனைவியாகக் கொடுக்கப்படவில்லை என்று அவள் கண்டபடியால், தன் கைம்பெண்மைக்குரிய வஸ்திரங்களைக் களைந்துபோட்டு, முக்காடிட்டுத் தன்னை மூடிக்கொண்டு, திம்னாவுக்குப் போகிற வழியிலிருக்கிற நீரூற்றுகளுக்கு முன்பாக உட்கார்ந்தாள்.

எனவே இப்போது வேறு ஆடைகளை அணிந்து, தன் முகத்தை மூடிக்கொண்டு திம்னா நகருக்கு அருகில் உள்ள ஏனாயிம் என்னும் இடத்துக்குச் செல்லும் பாதைக்கு அருகில் உட்கார்ந்துகொண்டாள். யூதாவின் இளைய மகனான சேலா அப்பொழுது வளர்ந்துவிட்டான் என்பதைத் தாமார் அறிந்தாள். ஆனால் தாமார் அவனை மணப்பதற்கானத் திட்டத்தை யூதா செய்யமாட்டான் என்று அவள் உணர்ந்துகொண்டாள்.
