அப்பொழுது அவன்: எனக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுவந்த அந்த மந்தையெல்லாம் என்னத்துக்கு என்றான். அதற்கு அவன்: என் ஆண்டவனின் கண்களில் எனக்குத் தயவு கிடைக்கிறதற்கு என்றான்.

ஏசா அவனிடம், “நான் வரும்போது பார்க்க நேர்ந்த இந்த மனிதர்கள் எல்லாம் யார்? இந்த மிருகங்கள் எல்லாம் எதற்காக?” என்று கேட்டான். யாக்கோபு, “என்னை நீர் ஏற்றுக்கொண்ட தன் அடையாளமாக இப்பரிசுப் பொருட்களை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள வேண்டும்” என்றான்.

What מִ֥י mî mee
לְךָ֛
thou by all כָּל kōl kole
drove הַמַּֽחֲנֶ֥ה maḥăne ma-huh-NEH
this הַזֶּ֖ה ze zeh
which אֲשֶׁ֣ר ʾăšer uh-SHER
I met? פָּגָ֑שְׁתִּי pāgaš pa-ɡAHSH
And he said, וַיֹּ֕אמֶר ʾāmar ah-MAHR
to find לִמְצֹא māṣāʾ ma-TSA
grace חֵ֖ן ḥēn hane
in the sight בְּעֵינֵ֥י ʿayin ah-YEEN
of my lord. אֲדֹנִֽי׃ ʾādôn ah-DONE
