4 தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் பூமியையும் வானத்தையும் உண்டாக்கின நாளிலே, வானமும் பூமியும், சிருஷ்டிக்கப்பட்ட வரலாறு இவைகளே. These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

5 நிலத்தினுடைய சகலவிதச் செடிகளும் பூமியின்மேல் இன்னும் உண்டாகவில்லை, நிலத்தினுடைய சகலவிதப் பூண்டுகளும் இன்னும் முளைக்கவில்லை; ஏனெனில் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் பூமியின்மேல் இன்னும் மழையைப் பெய்யப்பண்ணவில்லை; நிலத்தைப் பண்படுத்த மனுஷனும் இருந்ததில்லை. And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

6 அப்பொழுது மூடுபனி பூமியிலிருந்து எழும்பி, பூமியையெல்லாம் நனைத்தது. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

7 தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் மனுஷனைப் பூமியின் மண்ணினாலே உருவாக்கி, ஜீவசுவாசத்தை அவன் நாசியிலே ஊதினார், மனுஷன் ஜீவாத்துமாவானான். And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

8 தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் கிழக்கே ஏதேன் என்னும் ஒரு தோட்டத்தை உண்டாக்கி, தாம் உருவாக்கின மனுஷனை அதிலே வைத்தார். And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

9 தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர், பார்வைக்கு அழகும் புசிப்புக்கு நலமுமான சகலவித விருட்சங்களையும், தோட்டத்தின் நடுவிலே ஜீவவிருட்சத்தையும், நன்மை தீமை அறியத்தக்க விருட்சத்தையும் பூமியிருந்து முளைக்கப்பண்ணினார். And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

10 தோட்டத்துக்குத் தண்ணீர் பாயும்படி ஏதேனிலிருந்து ஒரு நதி ஓடி, அங்கேயிருந்து பிரிந்து நாலு பெரிய ஆறுகளாயிற்று. And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.

11 முதலாம் ஆற்றுக்குப் பைசோன் என்று பேர், அது ஆவிலா தேசம் முழுவதையும் சுற்றி ஓடும்; அவ்விடத்திலே பொன் விளையும். The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;

12 அந்தத் தேசத்தின் பொன் நல்லது; அவ்விடத்திலே பிதோலாகும், கோமேதகக் கல்லும் உண்டு. And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.

13 இரண்டாம் ஆற்றுக்குக் கீகோன் என்று பேர், அது எத்தியோப்பியா தேசம் முழுவதையும் சுற்றி ஓடும். And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.

14 மூன்றாம் ஆற்றுக்கு இதெக்கேல் என்று பேர், அது அசீரியாவுக்குக் கிழக்கே ஓடும்; நாலாம் ஆற்றுக்கு ஐபிராத் என்று பேர். And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.

15 தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் மனுஷனை ஏதேன் தோட்டத்தில் அழைத்துக் கொண்டுவந்து, அதைப் பண்படுத்தவும் காக்கவும் வைத்தார். And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

16 தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் மனுஷனை நோக்கி: நீ தோட்டத்திலுள்ள சகல விருட்சத்தின் கனியையும் புசிக்கவே புசிக்கலாம். And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

17 ஆனாலும் நன்மை தீமை அறியத்தக்க விருட்சத்தின் கனியைப் புசிக்கவேண்டாம்; அதை நீ புசிக்கும் நாளில் சாகவே சாவாய் என்று கட்டளையிட்டார். But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

4 Thaevanaakiya Karththar poomiyaiyum vaanaththaiyum unndaakkina naalilae, vaanamum poomiyum, sirushtikkappatta varalaaraு ivaikalae. These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

5 Nilaththinutaiya sakalavithach setikalum poomiyinmael innum unndaakavillai, nilaththinutaiya sakalavithap poonndukalum innum mulaikkavillai; aenenil thaevanaakiya Karththar poomiyinmael innum malaiyaip peyyappannnavillai; nilaththaip pannpaduththa manushanum irunthathillai. And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

6 Appoluthu moodupani poomiyilirunthu elumpi, poomiyaiyellaam nanaiththathu. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

7 Thaevanaakiya Karththar manushanaip poomiyin mannnninaalae uruvaakki, jeevasuvaasaththai avan naasiyilae oothinaar, manushan jeevaaththumaavaanaan. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

8 Thaevanaakiya Karththar kilakkae aethaen ennum oru thottaththai unndaakki, thaam uruvaakkina manushanai athilae vaiththaar. And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

9 Thaevanaakiya Karththar, paarvaikku alakum pusippukku nalamumaana sakalavitha virutchangalaiyum, thottaththin naduvilae jeevavirutchaththaiyum, nanmai theemai ariyaththakka virutchaththaiyum poomiyirunthu mulaikkappannnninaar. And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

10 Thottaththukkuth thannnneer paayumpati aethaenilirunthu oru nathi oti, angaeyirunthu pirinthu naalu periya aaraுkalaayittaு. And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.

11 Muthalaam aattaுkkup paison entu paer, athu aavilaa thaesam muluvathaiyum sutti odum; avvidaththilae pon vilaiyum. The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;

12 Anthath thaesaththin pon nallathu; avvidaththilae pitholaakum, komaethakak kallum unndu. And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.

13 Iranndaam aattaுkkuk geekon entu paer, athu eththiyoppiyaa thaesam muluvathaiyum sutti odum. And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.

14 Moontam aattaுkku ithekkael entu paer, athu aseeriyaavukkuk kilakkae odum; naalaam aattaுkku aipiraath entu paer. And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.

15 Thaevanaakiya Karththar manushanai aethaen thottaththil alaiththuk konnduvanthu, athaip pannpaduththavum kaakkavum vaiththaar. And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

16 Thaevanaakiya Karththar manushanai Nnokki: nee thottaththilulla sakala virutchaththin kaniyaiyum pusikkavae pusikkalaam. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

17 Aanaalum nanmai theemai ariyaththakka virutchaththin kaniyaip pusikkavaenndaam; athai nee pusikkum naalil saakavae saavaay entu kattalaiyittar. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
