நான் துன்மார்க்கனை நோக்கி: துன்மார்க்கனே, நீ சாகவே சாவாயென்று சொல்லுகையில், நீ துன்மார்க்கனைத் தன் துன்மார்க்கத்திலிராதபடி எச்சரிக்கத்தக்கதாக அதை அவனுக்குச் சொல்லாமற்போனால், அந்தத் துன்மார்க்கன் தன் அக்கிரமத்திலே சாவான்; ஆனாலும் அவன் இரத்தப்பழியை உன் கையிலே கேட்பேன்.

நான் உனக்குச் சொல்லலாம்: ‘இந்தக் கெட்ட மனிதன் மரிப்பான்.’ பிறகு நீ எனக்காகப் போய் அவனை எச்சரிக்க வேண்டும். நீ அந்தப் பாவியை எச்சரிக்காமல் அவனது வாழ்க்கையை மாற்றிக்கொள்ளும்படி சொல்லாவிட்டால், பிறகு அவன் தான் செய்த பாவத்துக்காக மரிப்பான். ஆனால் அவனது மரணத்திற்கு நான் உன்னைப் பொறுப்பாளியாக்குவேன்.
