וַיְהִ֥י came hāyâ דְבַר The word dābār יְהוָ֖ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ אֵלַ֥י again unto ʾēl לֵאמֹֽר׃ me, saying, ʾāmar

בֶּן Son bēn אָדָ֕ם of man, ʾādām שִׂ֥ים set śûm פָּנֶ֖יךָ thy face pānîm אֶל against ʾēl בְּנֵ֣י the Ammonites, bēn עַמּ֑וֹן ʿammôn וְהִנָּבֵ֖א and prophesy nābāʾ עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ against them; ʿal

וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֙ And say ʾāmar לִבְנֵ֣י unto the Ammonites, bēn עַמּ֔וֹן ʿammôn שִׁמְע֖וּ Hear šāmaʿ דְּבַר the word dābār אֲדֹנָ֣י of the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֑ה God; yĕhōwi כֹּה Thus kō אָמַ֣ר saith ʾāmar אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֡ה God; yĕhōwi יַעַן֩ Because yaʿan אָמְרֵ֨ךְ thou saidst, ʾāmar הֶאָ֜ח Aha, heʾāḥ אֶל against ʾēl מִקְדָּשִׁ֣י my sanctuary, miqdoš כִֽי when kî נִחָ֗ל it was profaned; ḥālal וְאֶל and against ʾēl אַדְמַ֤ת the land ʾădāmâ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ of Israel, yiśrāʾēl כִּ֣י when kî נָשַׁ֔מָּה it was desolate; šāmēm וְאֶל and against ʾēl בֵּ֣ית the house bayit יְהוּדָ֔ה of Judah, yĕhûdâ כִּ֥י when kî הָלְכ֖וּ they went hālak בַּגּוֹלָֽה׃ into captivity; gôlâ

לָכֵ֡ן therefore kēn הִנְנִי֩ Behold, hēn נֹתְנָ֨ךְ I will deliver nātan לִבְנֵי thee to the men bēn קֶ֜דֶם of the east qedem לְמֽוֹרָשָׁ֗ה for a possession, môrāšâ וְיִשְּׁב֤וּ and they shall set yāšab טִירֽוֹתֵיהֶם֙ their palaces ṭîrâ בָּ֔ךְ וְנָ֥תְנוּ in thee, and make nātan בָ֖ךְ מִשְׁכְּנֵיהֶ֑ם their dwellings miškān הֵ֚מָּה in thee: they hēm יֹאכְל֣וּ shall eat ʾākal פִרְיֵ֔ךְ thy fruit, pĕrî וְהֵ֖מָּה and they hēm יִשְׁתּ֥וּ shall drink šātâ חֲלָבֵֽךְ׃ thy milk. ḥālāb

וְנָתַתִּ֤י And I will make nātan אֶת ʾēt רַבָּה֙ Rabbah rabbâ לִנְוֵ֣ה a stable nāwe גְמַלִּ֔ים for camels, gāmāl וְאֶת ʾēt בְּנֵ֥י and the Ammonites bēn עַמּ֖וֹן ʿammôn לְמִרְבַּץ a couchingplace marbēṣ צֹ֑אן for flocks: ṣōn וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ם and ye shall know yādaʿ כִּֽי that kî אֲנִ֥י I ʾănî יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ

כִּ֣י For kî כֹ֤ה thus kō אָמַר֙ saith ʾāmar אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֔ה God; yĕhōwi יַ֚עַן Because yaʿan מַחְאֲךָ֣ thou hast clapped māḥāʾ יָ֔ד hands, yād וְרַקְעֲךָ֖ and stamped rāqaʿ בְּרָ֑גֶל with the feet, regel וַתִּשְׂמַ֤ח and rejoiced śāmaḥ בְּכָל with all kōl שָֽׁאטְךָ֙ thy despite šĕʾāṭ בְּנֶ֔פֶשׁ in heart nepeš אֶל against ʾēl אַדְמַ֖ת the land ʾădāmâ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel; yiśrāʾēl

לָכֵ֡ן therefore kēn הִנְנִי֩ Behold, hēn נָטִ֨יתִי I will stretch out nāṭâ אֶת ʾēt יָדִ֜י mine hand yād עָלֶ֗יךָ upon ʿal וּנְתַתִּ֤יךָֽ thee, and will deliver nātan לְבַג֙ thee for a spoil bag לַגּוֹיִ֔ם to the heathen; gôy וְהִכְרַתִּ֙יךָ֙ and I will cut thee off kārat מִן from min הָ֣עַמִּ֔ים the people, ʿam וְהַאֲבַדְתִּ֖יךָ and I will cause thee to perish ʾābad מִן out of min הָאֲרָצ֑וֹת the countries: ʾereṣ אַשְׁמִ֣ידְךָ֔ I will destroy šāmad וְיָדַעְתָּ֖ thee; and thou shalt know yādaʿ כִּֽי that kî אֲנִ֥י I ʾănî יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ

כֹּ֥ה Thus kō אָמַ֖ר saith ʾāmar אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֑ה God; yĕhōwi יַ֗עַן Because that yaʿan אֲמֹ֤ר do say, ʾāmar מוֹאָב֙ Moab môʾāb וְשֵׂעִ֔יר and Seir śēʿîr הִנֵּ֥ה Behold, hinnē כְּכָֽל like unto all kōl הַגּוֹיִ֖ם the heathen; gôy בֵּ֥ית the house bayit יְהוּדָֽה׃ of Judah yĕhûdâ

לָכֵן֩ Therefore, kēn הִנְנִ֨י behold, hēn פֹתֵ֜חַ I will open pātaḥ אֶת ʾēt כֶּ֤תֶף the side kātēp מוֹאָב֙ of Moab môʾāb מֵהֶ֣עָרִ֔ים from the cities, ʿîr מֵֽעָרָ֖יו from his cities ʿîr מִקָּצֵ֑הוּ on his frontiers, qāṣe צְבִ֗י the glory ṣĕbî אֶ֚רֶץ of the country, ʾereṣ בֵּ֣ית הַיְשִׁימֹ֔ת Beth-jeshimoth, bêt hayšîmôt בַּ֥עַל מְע֖וֹן Baal-meon, baʿal mĕʿôn וְקִרְיָתָֽמָה׃ and Kiriathaim, qiryātayim

לִבְנֵי Unto the men bēn קֶ֙דֶם֙ of the east qedem עַל with ʿal בְּנֵ֣י the Ammonites, bēn עַמּ֔וֹן ʿammôn וּנְתַתִּ֖יהָ and will give nātan לְמֽוֹרָשָׁ֑ה them in possession, môrāšâ לְמַ֛עַן that maʿan לֹֽא may not lōʾ תִזָּכֵ֥ר be remembered zākar בְּנֵֽי the Ammonites bēn עַמּ֖וֹן ʿammôn בַּגּוֹיִֽם׃ among the nations. gôy

וּבְמוֹאָ֖ב upon Moab; môʾāb אֶעֱשֶׂ֣ה And I will execute ʿāśâ שְׁפָטִ֑ים judgments šepeṭ וְיָדְע֖וּ and they shall know yādaʿ כִּֽי that kî אֲנִ֥י I ʾănî יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ

כֹּ֤ה Thus kō אָמַר֙ saith ʾāmar אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֔ה God; yĕhōwi יַ֣עַן Because that yaʿan עֲשׂ֥וֹת hath dealt ʿāśâ אֱד֛וֹם Edom ʾĕdōm בִּנְקֹ֥ם by taking nāqam נָקָ֖ם vengeance, nāqām לְבֵ֣ית against the house bayit יְהוּדָ֑ה of Judah yĕhûdâ וַיֶּאְשְׁמ֥וּ and hath greatly ʾāšam אָשׁ֖וֹם offended, ʾāšam וְנִקְּמ֥וּ and revenged himself upon them; nāqam בָהֶֽם׃

לָכֵ֗ן Therefore kēn כֹּ֤ה thus kō אָמַר֙ saith ʾāmar אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֔ה God; yĕhōwi וְנָטִ֤תִי I will also stretch out nāṭâ יָדִי֙ mine hand yād עַל upon ʿal אֱד֔וֹם Edom, ʾĕdōm וְהִכְרַתִּ֥י and will cut off kārat מִמֶּ֖נָּה from min אָדָ֣ם man ʾādām וּבְהֵמָ֑ה and beast bĕhēmâ וּנְתַתִּ֤יהָ it; and I will make nātan חָרְבָּה֙ it desolate ḥorbâ מִתֵּימָ֔ן from Teman; têmān וּדְדָ֖נֶה and they of Dedan dĕdān בַּחֶ֥רֶב by the sword. ḥereb יִפֹּֽלוּ׃ shall fall nāpal

וְנָתַתִּ֨י And I will lay nātan אֶת ʾēt נִקְמָתִ֜י my vengeance nĕqāmâ בֶּאֱד֗וֹם upon Edom ʾĕdōm בְּיַד֙ by the hand yād עַמִּ֣י of my people ʿam יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל Israel: yiśrāʾēl וְעָשׂ֣וּ and they shall do ʿāśâ בֶאֱד֔וֹם in Edom ʾĕdōm כְּאַפִּ֖י according to mine anger ʾap וְכַחֲמָתִ֑י and according to my fury; ḥēmâ וְיָֽדְעוּ֙ and they shall know yādaʿ אֶת ʾēt נִקְמָתִ֔י my vengeance, nĕqāmâ נְאֻ֖ם saith nĕʾum אֲדֹנָ֥י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִֽה׃ God. yĕhōwâ

כֹּ֤ה Thus kō אָמַר֙ saith ʾāmar אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֔ה God; yĕhōwi יַ֛עַן Because yaʿan עֲשׂ֥וֹת have dealt ʿāśâ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים the Philistines pĕlištî בִּנְקָמָ֑ה by revenge, nĕqāmâ וַיִּנָּקְמ֤וּ and have taken nāqam נָקָם֙ vengeance nāqām בִּשְׁאָ֣ט with a despiteful šĕʾāṭ בְּנֶ֔פֶשׁ heart, nepeš לְמַשְׁחִ֖ית to destroy mašḥît אֵיבַ֥ת hatred; ʾêbâ עוֹלָֽם׃ for the old ʿôlām

לָכֵ֗ן Therefore kēn כֹּ֤ה thus kō אָמַר֙ saith ʾāmar אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֔ה God; yĕhōwi הִנְנִ֨י Behold, hēn נוֹטֶ֤ה I will stretch out nāṭâ יָדִי֙ mine hand yād עַל upon ʿal פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים the Philistines, pĕlištî וְהִכְרַתִּ֖י and I will cut off kārat אֶת ʾēt כְּרֵתִ֑ים the Cherethims, kĕrētî וְהַ֣אֲבַדְתִּ֔י and destroy ʾābad אֶת ʾēt שְׁאֵרִ֖ית the remnant šĕʾērît ח֥וֹף coast. ḥôp הַיָּֽם׃ of the sea yām

וְעָשִׂ֤יתִי And I will execute ʿāśâ בָם֙ נְקָמ֣וֹת vengeance nĕqāmâ גְּדֹל֔וֹת great gādôl בְּתוֹכְח֖וֹת rebukes; tôkēḥâ חֵמָ֑ה upon them with furious ḥēmâ וְיָֽדְעוּ֙ and they shall know yādaʿ כִּֽי that kî אֲנִ֣י I ʾănî יְהוָ֔ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ בְּתִתִּ֥י when I shall lay nātan אֶת ʾēt נִקְמָתִ֖י my vengeance upon them. nĕqāmâ בָּֽם׃
