וַיְהִ֥י also came hāyâ דְבַר The word dābār יְהוָ֖ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ אֵלַ֥י unto ʾēl לֵאמֹֽר׃ me, saying, ʾāmar

בֶּן Son bēn אָדָ֕ם of man, ʾādām בְּת֥וֹךְ in the midst tāwek בֵּית house, bayit הַמֶּ֖רִי of a rebellious mĕrî אַתָּ֣ה thou ʾattâ יֹשֵׁ֑ב dwellest yāšab אֲשֶׁ֣ר which ʾăšer עֵינַיִם֩ have eyes ʿayin לָהֶ֨ם לִרְא֜וֹת to see, rāʾâ וְלֹ֣א not; lōʾ רָא֗וּ and see rāʾâ אָזְנַ֨יִם they have ears ʾōzen לָהֶ֤ם לִשְׁמֹ֙עַ֙ to hear, šāmaʿ וְלֹ֣א not: lōʾ שָׁמֵ֔עוּ and hear šāmaʿ כִּ֛י for kî בֵּ֥ית house. bayit מְרִ֖י a rebellious mĕrî הֵֽם׃ they hēm

וְאַתָּ֣ה Therefore, thou ʾattâ בֶן son bēn אָדָ֗ם of man, ʾādām עֲשֵׂ֤ה prepare ʿāśâ לְךָ֙ כְּלֵ֣י thee stuff kĕlî גוֹלָ֔ה for removing, gôlâ וּגְלֵ֥ה and remove gālâ יוֹמָ֖ם by day yômām לְעֵֽינֵיהֶ֑ם in their sight; ʿayin וְגָלִ֨יתָ and thou shalt remove gālâ מִמְּקוֹמְךָ֜ from thy place māqôm אֶל to ʾēl מָק֤וֹם place māqôm אַחֵר֙ another ʾaḥēr לְעֵ֣ינֵיהֶ֔ם in their sight: ʿayin אוּלַ֣י it may be ʾûlay יִרְא֔וּ they will consider, rāʾâ כִּ֛י though kî בֵּ֥ית house. bayit מְרִ֖י a rebellious mĕrî הֵֽמָּה׃ they hēm

וְהוֹצֵאתָ֙ Then shalt thou bring forth yāṣāʾ כֵלֶ֜יךָ thy stuff kĕlî כִּכְלֵ֥י as stuff kĕlî גוֹלָ֛ה for removing: gôlâ יוֹמָ֖ם by day yômām לְעֵֽינֵיהֶ֑ם in their sight, ʿayin וְאַתָּ֗ה and thou ʾattâ תֵּצֵ֤א shalt go forth yāṣāʾ בָעֶ֙רֶב֙ at even ʿereb לְעֵ֣ינֵיהֶ֔ם in their sight, ʿayin כְּמוֹצָאֵ֖י as they that go forth môṣāʾ גּוֹלָֽה׃ into captivity. gôlâ

לְעֵינֵיהֶ֖ם in their sight, ʿayin חֲתָר Dig ḥātar לְךָ֣ בַקִּ֑יר thou through the wall qîr וְהוֹצֵאתָ֖ and carry out thereby. yāṣāʾ בּֽוֹ׃

לְעֵ֨ינֵיהֶ֜ם In their sight ʿayin עַל upon ʿal כָּתֵ֤ף shoulders, kātēp תִּשָּׂא֙ shalt thou bear nāśāʾ בָּעֲלָטָ֣ה in the twilight: ʿălāṭâ תוֹצִ֔יא carry forth yāṣāʾ פָּנֶ֣יךָ thy face, pānîm תְכַסֶּ֔ה thou shalt cover kāsâ וְלֹ֥א not lōʾ תִרְאֶ֖ה that thou see rāʾâ אֶת ʾēt הָאָ֑רֶץ the ground: ʾereṣ כִּֽי for kî מוֹפֵ֥ת thee a sign môpēt נְתַתִּ֖יךָ I have set nātan לְבֵ֥ית unto the house bayit יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel. yiśrāʾēl

וָאַ֣עַשׂ And I did ʿāśâ כֵּן֮ so kēn כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר as ʾăšer צֻוֵּיתִי֒ I was commanded: ṣāwâ כֵּ֠לַי my stuff kĕlî הוֹצֵ֜אתִי I brought forth yāṣāʾ כִּכְלֵ֤י as stuff kĕlî גוֹלָה֙ for captivity, gôlâ יוֹמָ֔ם by day, yômām וּבָעֶ֛רֶב and in the even ʿereb חָתַֽרְתִּי I digged ḥātar לִ֥י בַקִּ֖יר through the wall qîr בְּיָ֑ד with mine hand; yād בָּעֲלָטָ֥ה in the twilight, ʿălāṭâ הוֹצֵ֛אתִי I brought forth yāṣāʾ עַל upon ʿal כָּתֵ֥ף shoulder kātēp נָשָׂ֖אתִי I bare nāśāʾ לְעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃ in their sight. ʿayin

וַיְהִ֧י came hāyâ דְבַר the word dābār יְהוָ֛ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ אֵלַ֖י unto ʾēl בַּבֹּ֥קֶר And in the morning bōqer לֵאמֹֽר׃ me, saying, ʾāmar

בֶּן Son bēn אָדָ֕ם of man, ʾādām הֲלֹ֨א hath not lōʾ אָמְר֥וּ said ʾāmar אֵלֶ֛יךָ unto ʾēl בֵּ֥ית the house bayit יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl בֵּ֣ית house, bayit הַמֶּ֑רִי the rebellious mĕrî מָ֖ה thee, What mâ אַתָּ֥ה ʾattâ עֹשֶֽׂה׃ doest thou? ʿāśâ

אֱמֹ֣ר Say ʾāmar אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם thou unto ʾēl כֹּ֥ה them, Thus kō אָמַ֖ר saith ʾāmar אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִֹ֑ה God; yĕhōwi הַנָּשִׂ֞יא the prince nāśîʾ הַמַּשָּׂ֤א burden maśśāʾ הַזֶּה֙ This ze בִּיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם in Jerusalem, yĕrûšālaim וְכָל and all kōl בֵּ֥ית the house bayit יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel yiśrāʾēl אֲשֶׁר that ʾăšer הֵ֥מָּה hēm בְתוֹכָֽם׃ among them. tāwek

אֱמֹ֖ר Say, ʾāmar אֲנִ֣י I ʾănî מֽוֹפֶתְכֶ֑ם your sign: môpēt כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר like as ʾăšer עָשִׂ֗יתִי I have done, ʿāśâ כֵּ֚ן so kēn יֵעָשֶׂ֣ה shall it be done ʿāśâ לָהֶ֔ם בַּגּוֹלָ֥ה unto them: they shall remove gôlâ בַשְּׁבִ֖י into captivity. šĕbî יֵלֵֽכוּ׃ go hālak

וְהַנָּשִׂ֨יא And the prince nāśîʾ אֲשֶׁר that ʾăšer בְּתוֹכָ֜ם among tāwek אֶל upon ʾēl כָּתֵ֤ף shoulder kātēp יִשָּׂא֙ them shall bear nāśāʾ בָּעֲלָטָ֣ה in the twilight, ʿălāṭâ וְיֵצֵ֔א and shall go forth: yāṣāʾ בַּקִּ֥יר through the wall qîr יַחְתְּר֖וּ they shall dig ḥātar לְה֣וֹצִיא to carry out yāṣāʾ ב֑וֹ פָּנָ֣יו his face, pānîm יְכַסֶּ֔ה thereby: he shall cover kāsâ יַ֗עַן that yaʿan אֲשֶׁ֨ר ʾăšer לֹא not lōʾ יִרְאֶ֥ה see rāʾâ לַעַ֛יִן with eyes. ʿayin ה֖וּא he hûʾ אֶת ʾēt הָאָֽרֶץ׃ the ground ʾereṣ

וּפָרַשְׂתִּ֤י also will I spread pāraś אֶת ʾēt רִשְׁתִּי֙ My net rešet עָלָ֔יו upon ʿal וְנִתְפַּ֖שׂ him, and he shall be taken tāpaś בִּמְצֽוּדָתִ֑י in my snare: māṣûd וְהֵבֵאתִ֨י and I will bring bôʾ אֹת֤וֹ ʾēt בָבֶ֙לָה֙ him to Babylon bābel אֶ֣רֶץ the land ʾereṣ כַּשְׂדִּ֔ים of the Chaldeans; kaśdî וְאוֹתָ֥הּ ʾēt לֹֽא yet shall he not lōʾ יִרְאֶ֖ה see rāʾâ וְשָׁ֥ם šām יָמֽוּת׃ it, though he shall die there. mût

וְכֹל֩ toward every kōl אֲשֶׁ֨ר that ʾăšer סְבִיבֹתָ֥יו about sābîb עֶזְרֹ֛ה him to help ʿēzer וְכָל all kōl אֲגַפָּ֖יו his bands; ʾaggāp אֱזָרֶ֣ה And I will scatter zārâ לְכָל him, and all kōl ר֑וּחַ wind rûaḥ וְחֶ֖רֶב the sword ḥereb אָרִ֥יק and I will draw out rûq אַחֲרֵיהֶֽם׃ after them. ʾaḥar

וְיָדְע֖וּ And they shall know yādaʿ כִּֽי that kî אֲנִ֣י I ʾănî יְהוָ֑ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ בַּהֲפִיצִ֤י when I shall scatter pûṣ אוֹתָם֙ ʾēt בַּגּוֹיִ֔ם them among the nations, gôy וְזֵרִיתִ֥י and disperse zārâ אוֹתָ֖ם ʾēt בָּאֲרָצֽוֹת׃ them in the countries. ʾereṣ

וְהוֹתַרְתִּ֤י But I will leave yātar מֵהֶם֙ hēm אַנְשֵׁ֣י men ʾîš מִסְפָּ֔ר a few mispār מֵחֶ֖רֶב of them from the sword, ḥereb מֵרָעָ֣ב from the famine, rāʿāb וּמִדָּ֑בֶר and from the pestilence; deber לְמַ֨עַן that maʿan יְסַפְּר֜וּ they may declare sāpar אֶת ʾēt כָּל all kōl תּוֹעֲבֽוֹתֵיהֶ֗ם their abominations tôʿēba בַּגּוֹיִם֙ among the heathen gôy אֲשֶׁר whither ʾăšer בָּ֣אוּ they come; bôʾ שָׁ֔ם šām וְיָדְע֖וּ and they shall know yādaʿ כִּֽי that kî אֲנִ֥י I ʾănî יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ

וַיְהִ֥י came hāyâ דְבַר Moreover the word dābār יְהוָ֖ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ אֵלַ֥י to ʾēl לֵאמֹֽר׃ me, saying, ʾāmar

בֶּן Son bēn אָדָ֕ם of man, ʾādām לַחְמְךָ֖ thy bread leḥem בְּרַ֣עַשׁ with quaking, raʿaš תֹּאכֵ֑ל eat ʾākal וּמֵימֶ֕יךָ thy water mayim בְּרָגְזָ֥ה with trembling rogzâ וּבִדְאָגָ֖ה and with carefulness; dĕʾāgâ תִּשְׁתֶּֽה׃ and drink šātâ

וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ And say ʾāmar אֶל unto ʾēl עַ֣ם the people ʿam הָאָ֡רֶץ of the land, ʾădāmâ כֹּֽה Thus kō אָמַר֩ saith ʾāmar אֲדֹנָ֨י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֜ה God yĕhōwi לְיוֹשְׁבֵ֤י of the inhabitants yāšab יְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ of Jerusalem, yĕrûšālaim אֶל of ʾēl אַדְמַ֣ת the land ʾereṣ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel; yiśrāʾēl לַחְמָם֙ their bread leḥem בִּדְאָגָ֣ה with carefulness, dĕʾāgâ יֹאכֵ֔לוּ They shall eat ʾākal וּמֵֽימֵיהֶ֖ם their water mayim בְּשִׁמָּמ֣וֹן with astonishment, šimmāmôn יִשְׁתּ֑וּ and drink šātâ לְמַ֜עַן that maʿan תֵּשַׁ֤ם may be desolate yāšam אַרְצָהּ֙ her land ʾereṣ מִמְּלֹאָ֔הּ from all that is therein, mĕlōʾ מֵחֲמַ֖ס because of the violence ḥāmās כָּֽל of all kōl הַיֹּשְׁבִ֥ים them that dwell therein. yāšab בָּֽהּ׃

וְהֶעָרִ֤ים And the cities ʿîr הַנּֽוֹשָׁבוֹת֙ that are inhabited yāšab תֶּחֱרַ֔בְנָה shall be laid waste, ḥārab וְהָאָ֖רֶץ and the land ʾereṣ שְׁמָמָ֣ה desolate; šĕmāmâ תִֽהְיֶ֑ה shall be hāyâ וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ם and ye shall know yādaʿ כִּֽי that kî אֲנִ֥י I ʾănî יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ

וַיְהִ֥י came hāyâ דְבַר And the word dābār יְהוָ֖ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ אֵלַ֥י unto ʾēl לֵאמֹֽר׃ me, saying, ʾāmar

בֶּן Son bēn אָדָ֗ם of man, ʾādām מָֽה what mâ הַמָּשָׁ֤ל proverb māšāl הַזֶּה֙ that ze לָכֶ֔ם עַל ye have in ʿal אַדְמַ֥ת the land ʾădāmâ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl לֵאמֹ֑ר saying, ʾāmar יַֽאַרְכוּ֙ are prolonged, ʾārak הַיָּמִ֔ים The days yôm וְאָבַ֖ד faileth? ʾābad כָּל and every kōl חָזֽוֹן׃ vision ḥāzôn

לָכֵ֞ן them therefore, kēn אֱמֹ֣ר Tell ʾāmar אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם ʾēl כֹּֽה Thus kō אָמַר֮ saith ʾāmar אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִה֒ God; yĕhōwâ הִשְׁבַּ֙תִּי֙ to cease, šābat אֶת ʾēt הַמָּשָׁ֣ל proverb māšāl הַזֶּ֔ה I will make this ze וְלֹֽא and they shall no lōʾ יִמְשְׁל֥וּ use it as a proverb māšal אֹת֛וֹ ʾēt ע֖וֹד more ʿôd בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל in Israel; yiśrāʾēl כִּ֚י but kî אִם ʾim דַּבֵּ֣ר say dābar אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם unto ʾēl קָֽרְבוּ֙ are at hand, qārab הַיָּמִ֔ים them, The days yôm וּדְבַ֖ר and the effect dābār כָּל of every kōl חָזֽוֹן׃ vision. ḥāzôn

כִּ֠י For kî לֹ֣א no lōʾ יִֽהְיֶ֥ה there shall be hāyâ ע֛וֹד more ʿôd כָּל any kōl חֲז֥וֹן vision ḥāzôn שָׁ֖וְא vain šow וּמִקְסַ֣ם divination miqsām חָלָ֑ק nor flattering ḥālāq בְּת֖וֹךְ within tāwek בֵּ֥ית the house bayit יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel. yiśrāʾēl

כִּ֣י׀ For kî אֲנִ֣י I ʾănî יְהוָ֗ה the Lord: yĕhōwâ אֲדַבֵּר֙ I will speak, dābar אֵת֩ ʾēt אֲשֶׁ֨ר that ʾăšer אֲדַבֵּ֤ר I shall speak dābar דָּבָר֙ and the word dābār וְיֵ֣עָשֶׂ֔ה shall come to pass; ʿāśâ לֹ֥א it shall be no lōʾ תִמָּשֵׁ֖ךְ prolonged: māšak ע֑וֹד more ʿôd כִּ֣י for kî בִֽימֵיכֶ֞ם in your days, yôm בֵּ֣ית house, bayit הַמֶּ֗רִי O rebellious mĕrî אֲדַבֵּ֤ר will I say dābar דָּבָר֙ the word, dābār וַעֲשִׂיתִ֔יו and will perform ʿāśâ נְאֻ֖ם it, saith nĕʾum אֲדֹנָ֥י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִֽה׃ God. yĕhōwi

וַיְהִ֥י came hāyâ דְבַר Again the word dābār יְהוָ֖ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ אֵלַ֥י to ʾēl לֵאמֹֽר׃ me, saying, ʾāmar

בֶּן Son bēn אָדָ֗ם of man, ʾādām הִנֵּ֤ה behold, hinnē בֵֽית the house bayit יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ of Israel yiśrāʾēl אֹֽמְרִ֔ים say, ʾāmar הֶחָז֛וֹן The vision ḥāzôn אֲשֶׁר that ʾăšer ה֥וּא he hûʾ חֹזֶ֖ה seeth ḥāzâ לְיָמִ֣ים days yôm רַבִּ֑ים for many rab וּלְעִתִּ֥ים of the times ʿēt רְחוֹק֖וֹת far off. rāḥôq ה֥וּא and he hûʾ נִבָּֽא׃ prophesieth nābāʾ

לָכֵ֞ן Therefore kēn אֱמֹ֣ר say ʾāmar אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם unto ʾēl כֹּ֤ה them, Thus kō אָמַר֙ saith ʾāmar אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִ֔ה God; yĕhōwi לֹא There shall none lōʾ תִמָּשֵׁ֥ךְ be prolonged māšak ע֖וֹד any more, ʿôd כָּל kōl דְּבָרָ֑י of my words dābār אֲשֶׁ֨ר which ʾăšer אֲדַבֵּ֤ר I have spoken dābar דָּבָר֙ but the word dābār וְיֵ֣עָשֶׂ֔ה shall be done, ʿāśâ נְאֻ֖ם saith nĕʾum אֲדֹנָ֥י the Lord ʾădōnāy יְהוִֽה׃ God. yĕhōwi
