அதற்கு அவன்: எங்கள் மேல் உன்னை அதிகாரியாகவும் நியாயாதிபதியாகவும் ஏற்படுத்தினவன் யார்? நீ எகிப்தியனைக் கொன்று போட்டது போல, என்னையும் கொன்றுபோட நினைக்கிறாயோ என்றான். அப்பொழுது மோசே காரியம் நிச்சயமாக வெளிப்பட்டது என்று பயந்தான்.

அம்மனிதன் அதற்குப் பதிலாக, “எங்களுக்கு அதிகாரியாகவும், நியாயாதிபதியாகவும் இருக்கும்படியாக உன்னிடம் யாராவது கூறினார்களா? நீ எகிப்தியனை நேற்று கொன்றதுபோல என்னையும் கொல்லப் போகிறாயா?” என்றான். இதைக் கேட்டு மோசே அஞ்சினான். மோசே தனக்குள், “நான் செய்ததை எல்லோரும் இப்போது அறிந்திருக்கிறார்கள்” என்று நினைத்துக்கொண்டான்.

அதற்கு அவன், “எங்கள்மேல் உன்னைத் தலைவனாகவும் நடுவனாகவும் நியமித்தவன் எவன்? எகிப்தியனைக் கொன்றதுபோல் என்னையும் கொல்லவா நீ இப்படிப் பேசுகிறாய்?” என்று சொன்னான். இதனால் மோசே அச்சமுற்றார்; “நடந்தது தெரிந்துவிட்டது உறுதியே” என்று சொல்லிக் கொண்டார்!

Atharku avan: engal mael unnai athikaariyaakavum niyaayaathipathiyaakavum aerpaduththinavan yaar? Nee ekipthiyanaik kontu pottathu pola, ennaiyum kontupoda ninaikkiraayo entan. Appoluthu Moses kaariyam nichchayamaaka velippattathu entu payanthaan.

Who מִ֣י mî mee
made שָֽׂמְךָ֞ śûm soom
thee לְאִ֨ישׁ ʾîš eesh
a prince שַׂ֤ר śar sahr
and a judge וְשֹׁפֵט֙ šāpaṭ sha-FAHT
over עָלֵ֔ינוּ ʿal al
to kill הַלְהָרְגֵ֙נִי֙ hārag ha-RAHɡ
thou אַתָּ֣ה ʾattâ ah-TA
us? intendest אֹמֵ֔ר ʾāmar ah-MAHR
me, as כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֥ר ʾăšer uh-SHER
thou killedst הָרַ֖גְתָּ hārag ha-RAHɡ
אֶת ʾēt ate
the Egyptian? הַמִּצְרִ֑י miṣrî meets-REE
feared, וַיִּירָ֤א yārēʾ ya-RAY
And Moses מֹשֶׁה֙ mōše moh-SHEH
and said, וַיֹּאמַ֔ר ʾāmar ah-MAHR
Surely אָכֵ֖ן ʾākēn ah-HANE
is known. נוֹדַ֥ע yādaʿ ya-DA
this thing הַדָּבָֽר׃ dābār da-VAHR
