וַיִּסְעוּ֙ And they took their journey nāsaʿ מֵֽאֵילִ֔ם from Elim, ʾêlim וַיָּבֹ֜אוּ came bôʾ כָּל and all kōl עֲדַ֤ת the congregation ʿēdâ בְּנֵֽי of the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ of Israel yiśrāʾēl אֶל unto ʾēl מִדְבַּר the wilderness midbār סִ֔ין of Sin, sîn אֲשֶׁ֥ר which ʾăšer בֵּין between bên אֵילִ֖ם Elim ʾêlim וּבֵ֣ין bên סִינָ֑י and Sinai, sînay בַּֽחֲמִשָּׁ֨ה on the fifteenth ḥāmēš עָשָׂ֥ר ʿāśār יוֹם֙ day yôm לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ month ḥōdeš הַשֵּׁנִ֔י of the second šēnî לְצֵאתָ֖ם after their departing out yāṣāʾ מֵאֶ֥רֶץ of the land ʾereṣ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ of Egypt. miṣrayim

וַיִּלִּיֹנוּ murmured lûn כָּל And the whole kōl עֲדַ֧ת congregation ʿēdâ בְּנֵֽי of the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל of Israel yiśrāʾēl עַל against ʿal מֹשֶׁ֥ה Moses mōše וְעַֽל ʿal אַהֲרֹ֖ן and Aaron ʾahărôn בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ in the wilderness: midbār

וַיֹּֽאמְר֨וּ said ʾāmar אֲלֵהֶ֜ם unto ʾēl בְּנֵ֣י And the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל of Israel yiśrāʾēl מִֽי them, Would to God mî יִתֵּ֨ן nātan מוּתֵ֤נוּ we had died mût בְיַד by the hand yād יְהוָה֙ of the Lord yĕhōwâ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ in the land ʾereṣ מִצְרַ֔יִם of Egypt, miṣrayim בְּשִׁבְתֵּ֙נוּ֙ when we sat yāšab עַל by ʿal סִ֣יר pots, sîr הַבָּשָׂ֔ר the flesh bāśār בְּאָכְלֵ֥נוּ when we did eat ʾākal לֶ֖חֶם bread leḥem לָשֹׂ֑בַע to the full; śōbaʿ כִּֽי for kî הוֹצֵאתֶ֤ם ye have brought us forth yāṣāʾ אֹתָ֙נוּ֙ ʾēt אֶל into ʾēl הַמִּדְבָּ֣ר wilderness, midbār הַזֶּ֔ה this ze לְהָמִ֛ית to kill mût אֶת ʾēt כָּל whole kōl הַקָּהָ֥ל assembly qāhāl הַזֶּ֖ה this ze בָּֽרָעָֽב׃ with hunger. rāʿāb

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר Then said ʾāmar יְהוָה֙ the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶל unto ʾēl מֹשֶׁ֔ה Moses, mōše הִנְנִ֨י Behold, hēn מַמְטִ֥יר I will rain māṭar לָכֶ֛ם לֶ֖חֶם bread leḥem מִן from min הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם heaven šāmayim וְיָצָ֨א shall go out yāṣāʾ הָעָ֤ם for you; and the people ʿam וְלָֽקְטוּ֙ and gather lāqaṭ דְּבַר a certain rate dābār י֣וֹם every day, yôm בְּיוֹמ֔וֹ yôm לְמַ֧עַן that maʿan אֲנַסֶּ֛נּוּ I may prove nāsâ הֲיֵלֵ֥ךְ them, whether they will walk hālak בְּתֽוֹרָתִ֖י in my law, tôrâ אִם or ʾim לֹֽא׃ no. lōʾ

וְהָיָה֙ And it shall come to pass, hāyâ בַּיּ֣וֹם day yôm הַשִּׁשִּׁ֔י that on the sixth šiššî וְהֵכִ֖ינוּ they shall prepare kûn אֵ֣ת ʾēt אֲשֶׁר which ʾăšer יָבִ֑יאוּ they bring in; bôʾ וְהָיָ֣ה and it shall be hāyâ מִשְׁנֶ֔ה twice mišne עַ֥ל ʿal אֲשֶֽׁר as much as ʾăšer יִלְקְט֖וּ they gather lāqaṭ י֥וֹם׀ daily. yôm יֽוֹם׃ yôm

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said ʾāmar מֹשֶׁה֙ And Moses mōše וְאַֽהֲרֹ֔ן and Aaron ʾahărôn אֶֽל unto ʾēl כָּל all kōl בְּנֵ֖י the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl עֶ֕רֶב At even, ʿereb וִֽידַעְתֶּ֕ם then ye shall know yādaʿ כִּ֧י that kî יְהוָ֛ה the Lord yĕhōwâ הוֹצִ֥יא hath brought you out yāṣāʾ אֶתְכֶ֖ם ʾēt מֵאֶ֥רֶץ from the land ʾereṣ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ of Egypt: miṣrayim

וּבֹ֗קֶר And in the morning, bōqer וּרְאִיתֶם֙ then ye shall see rāʾâ אֶת ʾēt כְּב֣וֹד the glory kābôd יְהוָ֔ה of the Lord; yĕhōwâ בְּשָׁמְע֥וֹ for that he heareth šāmaʿ אֶת ʾēt תְּלֻנֹּֽתֵיכֶ֖ם your murmurings tĕlûnâ עַל against ʿal יְהוָ֑ה the Lord: yĕhōwâ וְנַ֣חְנוּ we, naḥnû מָ֔ה and what mâ כִּ֥י that kî תַלִּ֖וֹנוּ ye murmur lûn עָלֵֽינוּ׃ against us? ʿal

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said, ʾāmar מֹשֶׁ֗ה And Moses mōše בְּתֵ֣ת shall give nātan יְהוָה֩ when the Lord yĕhōwâ לָכֶ֨ם בָּעֶ֜רֶב you in the evening ʿereb בָּשָׂ֣ר flesh bāśār לֶֽאֱכֹ֗ל to eat, ʾākal וְלֶ֤חֶם bread leḥem בַּבֹּ֙קֶר֙ and in the morning bōqer לִשְׂבֹּ֔עַ to the full; śābaʿ בִּשְׁמֹ֤עַ heareth šāmaʿ יְהוָה֙ for that the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶת ʾēt תְּלֻנֹּ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם your murmurings tĕlûnâ אֲשֶׁר which ʾăšer אַתֶּ֥ם ye ʾattâ מַלִּינִ֖ם murmur tĕlûnâ עָלָ֑יו against ʿal וְנַ֣חְנוּ we? naḥnû מָ֔ה him: and what mâ לֹֽא not lōʾ עָלֵ֥ינוּ against ʿal תְלֻנֹּֽתֵיכֶ֖ם your murmurings tĕlûnâ כִּ֥י us, but kî עַל against ʿal יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר spake ʾāmar מֹשֶׁה֙ And Moses mōše אֶֽל unto ʾēl אַהֲרֹ֔ן Aaron, ʾahărôn אֱמֹ֗ר Say ʾāmar אֶֽל unto ʾēl כָּל all kōl עֲדַת֙ the congregation ʿēdâ בְּנֵ֣י of the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl קִרְב֖וּ Come near qārab לִפְנֵ֣י before pānîm יְהוָ֑ה the Lord: yĕhōwâ כִּ֣י for kî שָׁמַ֔ע he hath heard šāmaʿ אֵ֖ת ʾēt תְּלֻנֹּֽתֵיכֶֽם׃ your murmurings. tĕlûnâ

וַיְהִ֗י And it came to pass, hāyâ כְּדַבֵּ֤ר spake dābar אַֽהֲרֹן֙ as Aaron ʾahărôn אֶל unto ʾēl כָּל the whole kōl עֲדַ֣ת congregation ʿēdâ בְּנֵֽי of the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl וַיִּפְנ֖וּ that they looked pānâ אֶל toward ʾēl הַמִּדְבָּ֑ר the wilderness, midbār וְהִנֵּה֙ and, behold, hinnē כְּב֣וֹד the glory kābôd יְהוָ֔ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ נִרְאָ֖ה appeared rāʾâ בֶּֽעָנָֽן׃ in the cloud. ʿānān

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר spake dābar יְהוָ֖ה And the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶל unto ʾēl מֹשֶׁ֥ה Moses, mōše לֵּאמֹֽר׃ saying, ʾāmar

שָׁמַ֗עְתִּי I have heard šāmaʿ אֶת ʾēt תְּלוּנֹּת֮ the murmurings tĕlûnâ בְּנֵ֣י of the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ of Israel: yiśrāʾēl דַּבֵּ֨ר speak dābar אֲלֵהֶ֜ם unto ʾēl לֵאמֹ֗ר them, saying, ʾāmar בֵּ֤ין At bên הָֽעַרְבַּ֙יִם֙ even ʿereb תֹּֽאכְל֣וּ ye shall eat ʾākal בָשָׂ֔ר flesh, bāśār וּבַבֹּ֖קֶר and in the morning bōqer תִּשְׂבְּעוּ ye shall be filled śābaʿ לָ֑חֶם with bread; leḥem וִֽידַעְתֶּ֕ם and ye shall know yādaʿ כִּ֛י that kî אֲנִ֥י I ʾănî יְהוָ֖ה the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶֽם׃ your God. ʾĕlōhîm

וַיְהִ֣י And it came to pass, hāyâ בָעֶ֔רֶב that at even ʿereb וַתַּ֣עַל came up, ʿālâ הַשְּׂלָ֔ו the quails śĕlāw וַתְּכַ֖ס and covered kāsâ אֶת ʾēt הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה the camp: maḥăne וּבַבֹּ֗קֶר and in the morning bōqer הָֽיְתָה֙ hāyâ שִׁכְבַ֣ת lay šĕkābâ הַטַּ֔ל the dew ṭal סָבִ֖יב round about sābîb לַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃ the host. maḥăne

וַתַּ֖עַל was gone up, ʿālâ שִׁכְבַ֣ת that lay šĕkābâ הַטָּ֑ל And when the dew ṭal וְהִנֵּ֞ה behold, hinnē עַל upon ʿal פְּנֵ֤י the face pānîm הַמִּדְבָּר֙ of the wilderness midbār דַּ֣ק a small daq מְחֻסְפָּ֔ס round thing, ḥaspas דַּ֥ק small daq כַּכְּפֹ֖ר as the hoar frost kĕpôr עַל on ʿal הָאָֽרֶץ׃ the ground. ʾereṣ

וַיִּרְא֣וּ saw rāʾâ בְנֵֽי And when the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל of Israel yiśrāʾēl וַיֹּ֨אמְר֜וּ they said ʾāmar אִ֤ישׁ one ʾîš אֶל to ʾēl אָחִיו֙ another, ʾāḥ מָ֣ן manna: mān ה֔וּא It hûʾ כִּ֛י for kî לֹ֥א not lōʾ יָֽדְע֖וּ they wist yādaʿ מַה what mâ ה֑וּא it hûʾ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said ʾāmar מֹשֶׁה֙ And Moses mōše אֲלֵהֶ֔ם unto ʾēl ה֣וּא them, This hûʾ הַלֶּ֔חֶם the bread leḥem אֲשֶׁ֨ר which ʾăšer נָתַ֧ן hath given nātan יְהוָ֛ה the Lord yĕhōwâ לָכֶ֖ם לְאָכְלָֽה׃ you to eat. ʾoklâ

זֶ֤ה This ze הַדָּבָר֙ the thing dābār אֲשֶׁ֣ר which ʾăšer צִוָּ֣ה hath commanded, ṣāwâ יְהוָ֔ה the Lord yĕhōwâ לִקְט֣וּ Gather lāqaṭ מִמֶּ֔נּוּ of min אִ֖ישׁ it every man ʾîš לְפִ֣י according to pe אָכְל֑וֹ his eating, ʾōkel עֹ֣מֶר an omer ʿōmer לַגֻּלְגֹּ֗לֶת for every man, gulgōlet מִסְפַּר֙ the number mispār נַפְשֹׁ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם of your persons; nepeš אִ֛ישׁ ye every man ʾîš לַֽאֲשֶׁ֥ר for which ʾăšer בְּאָֽהֳל֖וֹ in his tents. ʾōhel תִּקָּֽחוּ׃ take lāqaḥ

וַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ did ʿāśâ כֵ֖ן so, kēn בְּנֵ֣י And the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel yiśrāʾēl וַֽיִּלְקְט֔וּ and gathered, lāqaṭ הַמַּרְבֶּ֖ה some more, rābâ וְהַמַּמְעִֽיט׃ some less. māʿaṭ

וַיָּמֹ֣דּוּ And when they did mete mādad בָעֹ֔מֶר with an omer, ʿōmer וְלֹ֤א lōʾ הֶעְדִּיף֙ had nothing over, ʿădap הַמַּרְבֶּ֔ה he that gathered much rābâ וְהַמַּמְעִ֖יט and he that gathered little māʿaṭ לֹ֣א had no lōʾ הֶחְסִ֑יר lack; ḥāsēr אִ֥ישׁ every man ʾîš לְפִֽי according to pe אָכְל֖וֹ his eating. ʾōkel לָקָֽטוּ׃ they gathered lāqaṭ

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר said, ʾāmar מֹשֶׁ֖ה And Moses mōše אֲלֵהֶ֑ם ʾēl אִ֕ישׁ man ʾîš אַל Let no ʾal יוֹתֵ֥ר leave yātar מִמֶּ֖נּוּ of min עַד it till ʿad בֹּֽקֶר׃ the morning. bōqer

וְלֹֽא not lōʾ שָׁמְע֣וּ Notwithstanding they hearkened šāmaʿ אֶל unto ʾēl מֹשֶׁ֗ה Moses; mōše וַיּוֹתִ֨רוּ of them left yātar אֲנָשִׁ֤ים but some ʾĕnôš מִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ of min עַד it until ʿad בֹּ֔קֶר the morning, bōqer וַיָּ֥רֻם and it bred rûm תּֽוֹלָעִ֖ים worms, tôlāʿ וַיִּבְאַ֑שׁ and stank: bāʾaš וַיִּקְצֹ֥ף was wroth qāṣap עֲלֵהֶ֖ם with them. ʿal מֹשֶֽׁה׃ and Moses mōše

וַיִּלְקְט֤וּ And they gathered lāqaṭ אֹתוֹ֙ ʾēt בַּבֹּ֣קֶר it every morning, bōqer בַּבֹּ֔קֶר bōqer אִ֖ישׁ every man ʾîš כְּפִ֣י according to pe אָכְל֑וֹ his eating: ʾōkel וְחַ֥ם waxed hot, ḥāmam הַשֶּׁ֖מֶשׁ and when the sun šemeš וְנָמָֽס׃ it melted. māsas

וַיְהִ֣י׀ And it came to pass, hāyâ בַּיּ֣וֹם day yôm הַשִּׁשִּׁ֗י on the sixth šiššî לָֽקְט֥וּ they gathered lāqaṭ לֶ֙חֶם֙ as much bread, leḥem מִשְׁנֶ֔ה twice mišne שְׁנֵ֥י two šĕnayim הָעֹ֖מֶר omers ʿōmer לָֽאֶחָ֑ד for one ʾeḥād וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ came bôʾ כָּל and all kōl נְשִׂיאֵ֣י the rulers nāśîʾ הָֽעֵדָ֔ה of the congregation ʿēdâ וַיַּגִּ֖ידוּ and told nāgad לְמֹשֶֽׁה׃ Moses. mōše

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר And he said ʾāmar אֲלֵהֶ֗ם unto ʾēl ה֚וּא them, This hûʾ אֲשֶׁ֣ר which ʾăšer דִּבֶּ֣ר hath said, dābar יְהוָ֔ה the Lord yĕhōwâ שַׁבָּת֧וֹן the rest šabbātôn שַׁבַּת sabbath šabbāt קֹ֛דֶשׁ of the holy qōdeš לַֽיהוָ֖ה unto the Lord: yĕhōwâ מָחָ֑ר To morrow māḥār אֵ֣ת ʾēt אֲשֶׁר which ʾăšer תֹּאפ֞וּ bake ʾāpâ אֵפ֗וּ ye will bake ʾāpâ וְאֵ֤ת ʾēt אֲשֶֽׁר that ʾăšer תְּבַשְּׁלוּ֙ and seethe bāšal בַּשֵּׁ֔לוּ ye will seethe; bāšal וְאֵת֙ ʾēt כָּל and that which kōl הָ֣עֹדֵ֔ף remaineth over ʿădap הַנִּ֧יחוּ lay up yānaḥ לָכֶ֛ם לְמִשְׁמֶ֖רֶת for you to be kept mišmeret עַד until ʿad הַבֹּֽקֶר׃ the morning. bōqer

וַיַּנִּ֤יחוּ And they laid it up yānaḥ אֹתוֹ֙ ʾēt עַד till ʿad הַבֹּ֔קֶר the morning, bōqer כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֖ר as ʾăšer צִוָּ֣ה bade: ṣāwâ מֹשֶׁ֑ה Moses mōše וְלֹ֣א and it did not lōʾ הִבְאִ֔ישׁ stink, bāʾaš וְרִמָּ֖ה there any worm therein. rimmâ לֹא neither lōʾ הָ֥יְתָה was hāyâ בּֽוֹ׃

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said, ʾāmar מֹשֶׁה֙ And Moses mōše אִכְלֻ֣הוּ Eat ʾākal הַיּ֔וֹם that to day; yôm כִּֽי for kî שַׁבָּ֥ת a sabbath šabbāt הַיּ֖וֹם to day yôm לַֽיהוָ֑ה unto the Lord: yĕhōwâ הַיּ֕וֹם to day yôm לֹ֥א ye shall not lōʾ תִמְצָאֻ֖הוּ find māṣāʾ בַּשָּׂדֶֽה׃ it in the field. śāde

שֵׁ֥שֶׁת Six šēš יָמִ֖ים days yôm תִּלְקְטֻ֑הוּ ye shall gather lāqaṭ וּבַיּ֧וֹם day, yôm הַשְּׁבִיעִ֛י it; but on the seventh šĕbîʿî שַׁבָּ֖ת the sabbath, šabbāt לֹ֥א none. lōʾ יִֽהְיֶה in it there shall be hāyâ בּֽוֹ׃

וַֽיְהִי֙ And it came to pass, hāyâ בַּיּ֣וֹם day yôm הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י on the seventh šĕbîʿî יָֽצְא֥וּ there went out yāṣāʾ מִן of min הָעָ֖ם the people ʿam לִלְקֹ֑ט for to gather, lāqaṭ וְלֹ֖א none. lōʾ מָצָֽאוּ׃ and they found māṣāʾ

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר said ʾāmar יְהוָ֖ה And the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶל unto ʾēl מֹשֶׁ֑ה Moses, mōše עַד ʿad אָ֙נָה֙ How long ʾān מֵֽאַנְתֶּ֔ם refuse māʾēn לִשְׁמֹ֥ר ye to keep šāmar מִצְוֹתַ֖י my commandments miṣwâ וְתֽוֹרֹתָֽי׃ and my laws? tôrâ

רְא֗וּ See, rāʾâ כִּֽי for kî יְהוָה֮ that the Lord yĕhōwâ נָתַ֣ן hath given nātan לָכֶ֣ם הַשַּׁבָּת֒ you the sabbath, šabbāt עַל ʿal כֵּ֠ן therefore kēn ה֣וּא he hûʾ נֹתֵ֥ן giveth nātan לָכֶ֛ם בַּיּ֥וֹם day yôm הַשִּׁשִּׁ֖י you on the sixth šiššî לֶ֣חֶם the bread leḥem יוֹמָ֑יִם of two days; yôm שְׁב֣וּ׀ abide yāšab אִ֣ישׁ ye every man ʾîš תַּחְתָּ֗יו in his place, taḥat אַל let no ʾal יֵ֥צֵא go out yāṣāʾ אִ֛ישׁ man ʾîš מִמְּקֹמ֖וֹ of his place māqôm בַּיּ֥וֹם day. yôm הַשְּׁבִיעִֽי׃ on the seventh šĕbîʿî

וַיִּשְׁבְּת֥וּ rested šābat הָעָ֖ם So the people ʿam בַּיּ֥וֹם day. yôm הַשְּׁבִעִֽי׃ on the seventh šĕbîʿî

וַיִּקְרְא֧וּ called qārāʾ בֵֽית And the house bayit יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל of Israel yiśrāʾēl אֶת ʾēt שְׁמ֖וֹ the name šēm מָ֑ן thereof Manna: mān וְה֗וּא and it hûʾ כְּזֶ֤רַע seed, zeraʿ גַּד֙ like coriander gad לָבָ֔ן white; lābān וְטַעְמ֖וֹ and the taste ṭaʿam כְּצַפִּיחִ֥ת of it like wafers ṣappîḥit בִּדְבָֽשׁ׃ with honey. dĕbaš

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said, ʾāmar מֹשֶׁ֗ה And Moses mōše זֶ֤ה This ze הַדָּבָר֙ the thing dābār אֲשֶׁ֣ר which ʾăšer צִוָּ֣ה commandeth, ṣāwâ יְהוָ֔ה the Lord yĕhōwâ מְלֹ֤א Fill mĕlōʾ הָעֹ֙מֶר֙ an omer ʿōmer מִמֶּ֔נּוּ of min לְמִשְׁמֶ֖רֶת it to be kept mišmeret לְדֹרֹֽתֵיכֶ֑ם for your generations; dôr לְמַ֣עַן׀ that maʿan יִרְא֣וּ they may see rāʾâ אֶת ʾēt הַלֶּ֗חֶם the bread leḥem אֲשֶׁ֨ר wherewith ʾăšer הֶֽאֱכַ֤לְתִּי I have fed ʾākal אֶתְכֶם֙ ʾēt בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר you in the wilderness, midbār בְּהֽוֹצִיאִ֥י when I brought you forth yāṣāʾ אֶתְכֶ֖ם ʾēt מֵאֶ֥רֶץ from the land ʾereṣ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ of Egypt. miṣrayim

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said ʾāmar מֹשֶׁ֜ה And Moses mōše אֶֽל unto ʾēl אַהֲרֹ֗ן Aaron, ʾahărôn קַ֚ח Take lāqaḥ צִנְצֶ֣נֶת pot, ṣinṣenet אַחַ֔ת a ʾeḥād וְתֶן and put nātan שָׁ֥מָּה therein, šām מְלֹֽא full mĕlōʾ הָעֹ֖מֶר an omer ʿōmer מָ֑ן of manna mān וְהַנַּ֤ח and lay it up yānaḥ אֹתוֹ֙ ʾēt לִפְנֵ֣י before pānîm יְהוָ֔ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ לְמִשְׁמֶ֖רֶת to be kept mišmeret לְדֹרֹֽתֵיכֶֽם׃ for your generations. dôr

כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֛ר As ʾăšer צִוָּ֥ה commanded ṣāwâ יְהוָ֖ה the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶל ʾēl מֹשֶׁ֑ה Moses, mōše וַיַּנִּיחֵ֧הוּ laid it up yānaḥ אַֽהֲרֹ֛ן so Aaron ʾahărôn לִפְנֵ֥י before pānîm הָֽעֵדֻ֖ת the Testimony, ʿēdût לְמִשְׁמָֽרֶת׃ to be kept. mišmeret

וּבְנֵ֣י And the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל of Israel yiśrāʾēl אָֽכְל֤וּ did eat ʾākal אֶת ʾēt הַמָּן֙ manna mān אַרְבָּעִ֣ים forty ʾarbāʿîm שָׁנָ֔ה years, šāne עַד until ʿad בֹּאָ֖ם they came bôʾ אֶל to ʾēl אֶ֣רֶץ a land ʾereṣ נוֹשָׁ֑בֶת inhabited; yāšab אֶת ʾēt הַמָּן֙ manna, mān אָֽכְל֔וּ they did eat ʾākal עַד until ʿad בֹּאָ֕ם they came bôʾ אֶל unto ʾēl קְצֵ֖ה the borders qāṣe אֶ֥רֶץ of the land ʾereṣ כְּנָֽעַן׃ of Canaan. kĕnaʿan

וְהָעֹ֕מֶר Now an omer ʿōmer עֲשִׂרִ֥ית the tenth ʿăśîrî הָֽאֵיפָ֖ה of an ephah. ʾêpâ הֽוּא׃ hûʾ
