கர்த்தராகிய நான் உங்கள் தேவன் என்று நீங்கள் அறிந்துகொள்ளும்படிக்கு, நான் நாற்பது வருஷம் உங்களை வனாந்தரத்தில் நடத்தினேன்; உங்கள்மேல் இருந்த வஸ்திரம் பழையதாய்ப் போகவும் இல்லை, உங்கள் காலிலிருந்த பாதரட்சைகள் பழையதாய்ப் போகவும் இல்லை.

❮5-6❯‘நாற்பது ஆண்டுகள் நான் உங்களைப் பாலைநிலத்தில் கூட்டிவந்தேன். அப்பொழுது உங்கள் மேலுள்ள ஆடைகள் நைந்து போகவில்லை; உங்கள் காலிலுள்ள காலணிகள் பழுதடைந்து போகவுமில்லை. நீங்கள் அப்பம் உண்ணவோ, இரசம் குடிக்கவோ, மதுபானம் அருந்தவோ இல்லை. இதனால், நானே கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவர் என்று நீங்கள் உணர்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறீர்கள்.’
