עַל ʿal דְּבַ֞ר Because dābār אֲשֶׁ֨ר they ʾăšer לֹֽא you not lōʾ קִדְּמ֤וּ met qādam אֶתְכֶם֙ thee ʾēt בַּלֶּ֣חֶם with bread leḥem וּבַמַּ֔יִם and with water mayim בַּדֶּ֖רֶךְ in the way, derek בְּצֵֽאתְכֶ֣ם when ye came forth yāṣāʾ מִמִּצְרָ֑יִם out of Egypt; miṣrayim וַֽאֲשֶׁר֩ and because ʾăšer שָׂכַ֨ר they hired śākar עָלֶ֜יךָ against ʿal אֶת ʾēt בִּלְעָ֣ם Balaam bilʿām בֶּן the son bēn בְּע֗וֹר of Beor bĕʿôr מִפְּת֛וֹר of Pethor pĕtôr אֲרַ֥ם נַֽהֲרַ֖יִם of Mesopotamia, ʾăram nahărayim לְקַֽלְלֶֽךָּ׃ to curse thee. qālal

וְלֹֽא not lōʾ אָבָ֞ה would ʾābâ יְהוָ֤ה Nevertheless the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ thy God ʾĕlōhîm לִשְׁמֹ֣עַ hearken šāmaʿ אֶל unto ʾēl בִּלְעָ֔ם Balaam; bilʿām וַיַּֽהֲפֹךְ֩ turned hāpak יְהוָ֨ה but the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹהֶ֧יךָ thy God ʾĕlōhîm לְּךָ֛ אֶת ʾēt הַקְּלָלָ֖ה the curse qĕlālâ לִבְרָכָ֑ה into a blessing bĕrākâ כִּ֥י unto thee, because kî אֲהֵֽבְךָ֖ loved thee. ʾāhab יְהוָ֥ה the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃ thy God ʾĕlōhîm

לֹֽא Thou shalt not lōʾ תִדְרֹ֥שׁ seek dāraš שְׁלֹמָ֖ם their peace šālôm וְטֹֽבָתָ֑ם nor their prosperity ṭôb כָּל all kōl יָמֶ֖יךָ thy days yôm לְעוֹלָֽם׃ for ever. ʿôlām

בָּנִ֛ים The children bēn אֲשֶׁר that ʾăšer יִוָּֽלְד֥וּ are begotten yālad לָהֶ֖ם דּ֣וֹר generation. dôr שְׁלִישִׁ֑י in their third šĕlîšî יָבֹ֥א of them shall enter bôʾ לָהֶ֖ם בִּקְהַ֥ל into the congregation qāhāl יְהוָֽה׃ of the Lord yĕhōwâ

כִּֽי When kî תֵצֵ֥א goeth forth yāṣāʾ מַֽחֲנֶ֖ה the host maḥăne עַל against ʿal אֹֽיְבֶ֑יךָ thine enemies, ʾōyēb וְנִ֨שְׁמַרְתָּ֔ then keep thee šāmar מִכֹּ֖ל from every kōl דָּבָ֥ר thing. dābār רָֽע׃ wicked raʿ

כִּֽי If kî יִהְיֶ֤ה there be hāyâ בְךָ֙ אִ֔ישׁ among you any man, ʾîš אֲשֶׁ֛ר that ʾăšer לֹֽא not lōʾ יִהְיֶ֥ה is hāyâ טָה֖וֹר clean ṭāhôr מִקְּרֵה by reason of uncleanness that chanceth qāre לָ֑יְלָה him by night, layil וְיָצָא֙ then shall he go yāṣāʾ אֶל out of ʾēl מִח֣וּץ abroad ḥûṣ לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔ה the camp, maḥăne לֹ֥א he shall not lōʾ יָבֹ֖א come bôʾ אֶל ʾēl תּ֥וֹךְ within tāwek הַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃ the camp: maḥăne

וְהָיָ֥ה But it shall be, hāyâ לִפְנֽוֹת cometh on, pānâ עֶ֖רֶב when evening ʿereb יִרְחַ֣ץ he shall wash rāḥaṣ בַּמָּ֑יִם with water: mayim וּכְבֹ֣א is down, bôʾ הַשֶּׁ֔מֶשׁ and when the sun šemeš יָבֹ֖א he shall come bôʾ אֶל ʾēl תּ֥וֹךְ into tāwek הַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃ the camp maḥăne

וְיָד֙ a place also yād תִּֽהְיֶ֣ה Thou shalt have hāyâ לְךָ֔ מִח֖וּץ without ḥûṣ לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה the camp, maḥăne וְיָצָ֥אתָ thou shalt go forth yāṣāʾ שָׁ֖מָּה whither šām חֽוּץ׃ abroad: ḥûṣ

וְיָתֵ֛ד a paddle yātēd תִּֽהְיֶ֥ה And thou shalt have hāyâ לְךָ֖ עַל upon ʿal אֲזֵנֶ֑ךָ thy weapon; ʾāzēn וְהָיָה֙ and it shall be, hāyâ בְּשִׁבְתְּךָ֣ when thou wilt ease yāšab ח֔וּץ thyself abroad, ḥûṣ וְחָֽפַרְתָּ֣ה thou shalt dig ḥāpar בָ֔הּ וְשַׁבְתָּ֖ therewith, and shalt turn back šûb וְכִסִּ֥יתָ and cover kāsâ אֶת ʾēt צֵֽאָתֶֽךָ׃ that which cometh from thee: ṣāʾâ

כִּי֩ For kî יְהוָ֨ה the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ thy God ʾĕlōhîm מִתְהַלֵּ֣ךְ׀ walketh hālak בְּקֶ֣רֶב in the midst qereb מַֽחֲנֶ֗ךָ of thy camp, maḥăne לְהַצִּֽילְךָ֙ to deliver nāṣal וְלָתֵ֤ת thee, and to give up nātan אֹֽיְבֶ֙יךָ֙ thine enemies ʾōyēb לְפָנֶ֔יךָ before pānîm וְהָיָ֥ה be hāyâ מַֽחֲנֶ֖יךָ thee; therefore shall thy camp maḥăne קָד֑וֹשׁ holy: qādôš וְלֹֽא no lōʾ יִרְאֶ֤ה that he see rāʾâ בְךָ֙ עֶרְוַ֣ת unclean ʿerwâ דָּבָ֔ר thing dābār וְשָׁ֖ב in thee, and turn away šûb מֵאַֽחֲרֶֽיךָ׃ from thee. ʾaḥar

לֹֽא Thou shalt not lōʾ תַסְגִּ֥יר deliver sāgar עֶ֖בֶד the servant ʿebed אֶל unto ʾēl אֲדֹנָ֑יו his master ʾādôn אֲשֶׁר which ʾăšer יִנָּצֵ֥ל is escaped nāṣal אֵלֶ֖יךָ unto thee: ʾēl מֵעִ֥ם from ʿim אֲדֹנָֽיו׃ his master ʾādôn

עִמְּךָ֞ with ʿim יֵשֵׁ֣ב He shall dwell yāšab בְּקִרְבְּךָ֗ thee, among qereb בַּמָּק֧וֹם you, in that place māqôm אֲשֶׁר which ʾăšer יִבְחַ֛ר he shall choose bāḥar בְּאַחַ֥ד in one ʾeḥād שְׁעָרֶ֖יךָ of thy gates, šaʿar בַּטּ֣וֹב where it liketh him best: ṭôb ל֑וֹ לֹ֖א thou shalt not lōʾ תּוֹנֶֽנּוּ׃ oppress him. yānâ

לֹֽא no lōʾ תִהְיֶ֥ה There shall be hāyâ קְדֵשָׁ֖ה whore qĕdēšâ מִבְּנ֣וֹת of the daughters bat יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl וְלֹֽא nor lōʾ יִהְיֶ֥ה hāyâ קָדֵ֖שׁ a sodomite qādēš מִבְּנֵ֥י of the sons bēn יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel. yiśrāʾēl

לֹֽא Thou shalt not lōʾ תָבִיא֩ bring bôʾ אֶתְנַ֨ן the hire ʾetnan זוֹנָ֜ה of a whore, zānâ וּמְחִ֣יר or the price mĕḥîr כֶּ֗לֶב of a dog, keleb בֵּ֛ית into the house bayit יְהוָ֥ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ thy God ʾĕlōhîm לְכָל for any kōl נֶ֑דֶר vow: neder כִּ֧י for kî תֽוֹעֲבַ֛ת these abomination tôʿēba יְהוָ֥ה unto the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ thy God. ʾĕlōhîm גַּם even gam שְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃ both šĕnayim

לֹֽא Thou shalt not lōʾ תַשִּׁ֣יךְ lend upon usury nāšak לְאָחִ֔יךָ to thy brother; ʾāḥ נֶ֥שֶׁךְ usury nešek כֶּ֖סֶף of money, kesep נֶ֣שֶׁךְ usury nešek אֹ֑כֶל of victuals, ʾōkel נֶ֕שֶׁךְ usury nešek כָּל of any kōl דָּבָ֖ר thing dābār אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ʾăšer יִשָּֽׁךְ׃ is lent upon usury: nāšak

לַנָּכְרִ֣י Unto a stranger nokrî תַשִּׁ֔יךְ thou mayest lend upon usury; nāšak וּלְאָחִ֖יךָ but unto thy brother ʾāḥ לֹ֣א thou shalt not lōʾ תַשִּׁ֑יךְ lend upon usury: nāšak לְמַ֨עַן that maʿan יְבָֽרֶכְךָ֜ may bless bārak יְהוָ֣ה the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹהֶ֗יךָ thy God ʾĕlōhîm בְּכֹל֙ thee in all kōl מִשְׁלַ֣ח that thou settest mišlôaḥ יָדֶ֔ךָ thine hand yād עַל to in ʿal הָאָ֕רֶץ the land ʾereṣ אֲשֶׁר whither ʾăšer אַתָּ֥ה thou ʾattâ בָא goest bôʾ שָׁ֖מָּה šām לְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ׃ to possess it. yāraš

כִּֽי When kî תִדֹּ֥ר thou shalt vow nādar נֶ֙דֶר֙ a vow neder לַֽיהוָ֣ה unto the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ thy God, ʾĕlōhîm לֹ֥א thou shalt not lōʾ תְאַחֵ֖ר slack ʾāḥar לְשַׁלְּמ֑וֹ to pay šālam כִּֽי it: for kî דָּרֹ֨שׁ will surely dāraš יִדְרְשֶׁ֜נּוּ require dāraš יְהוָ֤ה the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ thy God ʾĕlōhîm מֵֽעִמָּ֔ךְ it of ʿim וְהָיָ֥ה thee; and it would be hāyâ בְךָ֖ חֵֽטְא׃ sin in thee. ḥēṭĕʾ

מוֹצָ֥א That which is gone out môṣāʾ שְׂפָתֶ֖יךָ of thy lips śāpâ תִּשְׁמֹ֣ר thou shalt keep šāmar וְעָשִׂ֑יתָ and perform; ʿāśâ כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֨ר according as ʾăšer נָדַ֜רְתָּ thou hast vowed nādar לַֽיהוָ֤ה unto the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ thy God, ʾĕlōhîm נְדָבָ֔ה a freewill offering, nĕdābâ אֲשֶׁ֥ר which ʾăšer דִּבַּ֖רְתָּ thou hast promised dābar בְּפִֽיךָ׃ with thy mouth. pe

כִּ֤י When kî תָבֹא֙ thou comest bôʾ בְּכֶ֣רֶם vineyard, kerem רֵעֶ֔ךָ into thy neighbour's rēaʿ וְאָֽכַלְתָּ֧ then thou mayest eat ʾākal עֲנָבִ֛ים grapes ʿēnāb כְּנַפְשְׁךָ֖ at thine own pleasure; nepeš שָׂבְעֶ֑ךָ thy fill śōbaʿ וְאֶֽל in ʾēl כֶּלְיְךָ֖ thy vessel. kĕlî לֹ֥א but thou shalt not lōʾ תִתֵּֽן׃ put nātan

כִּ֤י When kî תָבֹא֙ thou comest bôʾ בְּקָמַ֣ת into the standing corn qāmâ רֵעֶ֔ךָ of thy neighbour, rēaʿ וְקָֽטַפְתָּ֥ then thou mayest pluck qāṭap מְלִילֹ֖ת the ears mĕlîlâ בְּיָדֶ֑ךָ with thine hand; yād וְחֶרְמֵשׁ֙ a sickle ḥermēš לֹ֣א but thou shalt not lōʾ תָנִ֔יף move nûp עַ֖ל unto ʿal קָמַ֥ת standing corn. qāmâ רֵעֶֽךָ׃ thy neighbour's rēaʿ
