அப்பொழுது ராஜா கட்டளையிட, அவர்கள் தானியேலைக் கொண்டுவந்து, அவனைச் சிங்கங்களின் கெபியிலே போட்டார்கள். ராஜா தானியேலை நோக்கி: நீ இடைவிடாமல் ஆராதிக்கிற உன் தேவன் உன்னைத் தப்புவிப்பார் என்றான்.

எனவே, தரியு அரசன் கட்டளையிட்டான். அவர்கள் தானியேலை அழைத்து வந்து சிங்கங்களின் கூண்டில் போட்டனர். அரசன் தானியேலிடம், “நீ தொழுதுகொள்ளும் தேவன் உன்னைக் காப்பாற்றுவார் என்று நான் நம்புகிறேன்” என்று சொன்னான்.
