Proverbs 18 in Tamil

1 பிரிந்துபோகிறவன் தன் இச்சையின்படி செய்யப்பார்க்கிறான், எல்லா ஞானத்திலும் தலையிட்டுக்கொள்ளுகிறான். Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.

2 மூடன் ஞானத்தில் பிரியங்கொள்ளாமல், தன் மனதிலுள்ளவைகளை வெளிப்படுத்தப் பிரியப்படுகிறான். A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.

3 துன்மார்க்கன் வர அவமானம் வரும்; அவமானத்தோடே நிந்தையும் வரும். When the wicked cometh, then cometh also contempt, and with ignominy reproach.

4 மனுஷனுடைய வாய்மொழிகள் ஆழமான ஜலம்போலிருக்கும்; ஞானத்தின் ஊற்று பாய்கிற ஆற்றைப்போலிருக்கும். The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.

5 வழக்கிலே நீதிமானைத் தோற்கடிக்கிறதற்கு, துன்மார்க்கனுக்கு முகதாட்சிணியம்பண்ணுவது நல்லதல்ல; It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment.

6 மூடனுடைய உதடுகள் விவாதத்தில் நுழையும், அவன் வாய் அடிகளை வரவழைக்கும். A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes.

7 மூடனுடைய வாய் அவனுக்குக் கேடு, அவன் உதடுகள் அவன் ஆத்துமாவுக்குக் கண்ணி. A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.

8 கோள்காரனுடைய வார்த்தைகள் விளையாட்டுபோலிருக்கும், ஆனாலும் அவைகள் உள்ளத்திற்குள் தைக்கும். The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

9 தன் வேலையில் அசதியாயிருப்பவன் அழிம்பனுக்குச் சகோதரன். He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.

10 கர்த்தரின் நாமம் பலத்த துருகம்; நீதிமான் அதற்குள் ஓடிச் சுகமாயிருப்பான். The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

11 ஐசுவரியவானுடைய பொருள் அவனுக்கு அரணான பட்டணம்; அது அவன் எண்ணத்தில் உயர்ந்த மதில்போலிருக்கும். The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit.

12 அழிவு வருமுன் மனுஷனுடைய இருதயம் இறுமாப்பாயிருக்கும்; மேன்மைக்கு முன்னானது தாழ்மை. Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.

13 காரியத்தைக் கேட்குமுன் உத்தரம் சொல்லுகிறவனுக்கு, அது புத்தியீனமும் வெட்கமுமாயிருக்கும். He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.

14 மனுஷனுடைய ஆவி அவன் பலவீனத்தைத் தாங்கும்; முறிந்த ஆவி யாரால் தாங்கக்கூடும்? The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?

15 புத்திமானுடைய மனம் அறிவைச் சம்பாதிக்கும்; ஞானியின் செவி அறிவை நாடும். The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.

16 ஒருவன் கொடுக்கும் வெகுமதி அவனுக்கு வழியுண்டாக்கி, பெரியோர்களுக்கு முன்பாக அவனைக் கொண்டுபோய்விடும். A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.

17 தன் வழக்கிலே முதல்பேசுகிறவன் நீதிமான்போல் காணப்படுவான்; அவன் அயலானோ வந்து அவனைப் பரிசோதிக்கிறான். He that is first in his own cause seemeth just; but his neighbour cometh and searcheth him.

18 சீட்டுப்போடுதல் விரோதங்களை ஒழித்து, பலவான்கள் நடுவே சிக்கறுக்கும். The lot causeth contentions to cease, and parteth between the mighty.

19 அரணான பட்டணத்தை வசப்படுத்துவதைப்பார்க்கிலும் கோபங்கொண்ட சகோதரனை வசப்படுத்துவது அரிது; அவர்களுடைய விரோதங்கள் கோட்டைத் தாழ்ப்பாள்கள் போலிருக்கும். A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.

20 அவனவன் வாயின் பலனால் அவனவன் வயிறு நிரம்பும்; அவனவன் உதடுகளின் விளைவினால் அவனவன் திருப்தியாவான். A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.

21 மரணமும் ஜீவனும் நாவின் அதிகாரத்திலிருக்கும்; அதில் பிரியப்படுகிறவர்கள் அதின் கனியைப் புசிப்பார்கள். Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

22 மனைவியைக் கண்டடைகிறவன் நன்மையானதைக் கண்டடைகிறான்; கர்த்தரால் தயையும் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறான். Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.

23 தரித்திரன் கெஞ்சிக்கேட்கிறான்; ஐசுவரியவான் கடினமாய் உத்தரவுகொடுக்கிறான். The poor useth intreaties; but the rich answereth roughly.

24 சிநேகிதருள்ளவன் சிநேகம் பாராட்டவேண்டும்; சகோதரனிலும் அதிக சொந்தமாய்ச் சிநேகிப்பவனுமுண்டு. A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

2 Moodan njaanaththil piriyangaொllaamal, than manathilullavaikalai velippaduththap piriyappadukiraan. A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.

3 Thunmaarkkan vara avamaanam varum; avamaanaththotae ninthaiyum varum. When the wicked cometh, then cometh also contempt, and with ignominy reproach.

4 Manushanutaiya vaaymolikal aalamaana jalampolirukkum; njaanaththin oottaு paaykira aattaைppolirukkum. The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.

5 Valakkilae neethimaanaith thorkatikkiratharku, thunmaarkkanukku mukathaatchinniyampannnuvathu nallathalla; It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment.

6 Moodanutaiya uthadukal vivaathaththil nulaiyum, avan vaay atikalai varavalaikkum. A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes.

7 Moodanutaiya vaay avanukkuk kaedu, avan uthadukal avan aaththumaavukkuk kannnni. A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.

8 Kolkaaranutaiya vaarththaikal vilaiyaattupolirukkum, aanaalum avaikal ullaththirkul thaikkum. The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

11 Aisuvariyavaanutaiya porul avanukku arannaana pattanam; athu avan ennnaththil uyarntha mathilpolirukkum. The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit.

12 Alivu varumun manushanutaiya iruthayam iraுmaappaayirukkum; maenmaikku munnaanathu thaalmai. Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.

13 Kaariyaththaik kaetkumun uththaram sollukiravanukku, athu puththiyeenamum vetkamumaayirukkum. He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.

14 Manushanutaiya aavi avan palaveenaththaith thaangum; murintha aavi yaaraal thaangakkoodum? The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?

17 Than valakkilae muthalpaesukiravan neethimaanpol kaanappaduvaan; avan ayalaano vanthu avanaip parisothikkiraan. He that is first in his own cause seemeth just; but his neighbour cometh and searcheth him.

18 Seettuppoduthal virothangalai oliththu, palavaankal naduvae sikkaraுkkum. The lot causeth contentions to cease, and parteth between the mighty.

19 Arannaana pattanaththai vasappaduththuvathaippaarkkilum kopangaொnnda sakotharanai vasappaduththuvathu arithu; avarkalutaiya virothangal kottaைth thaalppaalkal polirukkum. A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.

20 Avanavan vaayin palanaal avanavan vayiraு nirampum; avanavan uthadukalin vilaivinaal avanavan thirupthiyaavaan. A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.

21 Maranamum jeevanum naavin athikaaraththilirukkum; athil piriyappadukiravarkal athin kaniyaip pusippaarkal. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

22 Manaiviyaik kanndataikiravan nanmaiyaanathaik kanndataikiraan; karththaraal thayaiyum pettaுkkollukiraan. Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.

23 Thariththiran kenjikkaetkiraan; aisuvariyavaan katinamaay uththaravukodukkiraan. The poor useth intreaties; but the rich answereth roughly.

24 Sinaekitharullavan sinaekam paaraattavaenndum; sakotharanilum athika sonthamaaych sinaekippavanumunndu. A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
