1 சிம்சோன் திம்னாத்துக்குப் போய், திம்னாத்திலே பெலிஸ்தரின் குமாரத்திகளில் ஒரு பெண்ணைக் கண்டு, And Samson went down to Timnath, and saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines.

2 திரும்ப வந்து, தன் தாயையும் தகப்பனையும் நோக்கி: திம்னாத்திலே பெலிஸ்தரின் குமாரத்திகளில் ஒரு பெண்ணைக் கண்டேன்; அவளை எனக்குக் கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்றான். And he came up, and told his father and his mother, and said, I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines: now therefore get her for me to wife.

3 அப்பொழுது அவன் தாயும் அவன் தகப்பனும் அவனை நோக்கி: நீ போய், விருத்தசேதனமில்லாத பெலிஸ்தரிடத்தில் ஒரு பெண்ணைக் கொள்ளவேண்டியதென்ன? உன் சகோதரரின் குமாரத்திகளிலும், எங்கள் ஜனமனைத்திலும் பெண் இல்லையா என்றார்கள். சிம்சோன் தன் தகப்பனை நோக்கி: அவள் என் கண்ணுக்குப் பிரியமானவள், அவளையே எனக்குக் கொள்ளவேண்டும் என்றான். Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well.

And after a time he returned to take her, and he turned aside to see the carcass of the lion: and, behold, there was a swarm of bees and honey in the carcass of the lion.

And he took thereof in his hands, and went on eating, and came to his father and mother, and he gave them, and they did eat: but he told not them that he had taken the honey out of the carcass of the lion.

12 சிம்சோன் அவர்களை நோக்கி: ஒரு விடுகதையை உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்; அதை நீங்கள் விருந்துண்கிற ஏழுநாளைக்குள்ளே கண்டுபிடித்து எனக்கு விடுவித்தால், நான் உங்களுக்கு முப்பது துப்பட்டிகளையும் முப்பது மாற்று வஸ்திரங்களையும் கொடுப்பேன். And Samson said unto them, I will now put forth a riddle unto you: if ye can certainly declare it me within the seven days of the feast, and find it out, then I will give you thirty sheets and thirty change of garments:

14 அப்பொழுது அவன்: பட்சிக்கிறவனிடத்திலுருந்து பட்சணமும், பலவானிடத்திலிருந்து மதுரமும் வந்தது என்றான்; அந்த விடுகதை அவர்களால் மூன்று நாள்மட்டும் விடுவிக்கக் கூடாதே போயிற்று. And he said unto them, Out of the eater came forth meat, and out of the strong came forth sweetness. And they could not in three days expound the riddle.

15 ஏழாம்நாளிலே அவர்கள் சிம்சோனின் பெண்சாதியைப் பார்த்து: உன் புருஷன் அந்த விடுகதையை எங்களுக்கு விடுவிக்கும்படிக்கு நீ அவனை நயம் பண்ணு; இல்லாவிட்டால் நாங்கள் உன்னையும் உன் தகப்பன் வீட்டையும் அக்கினியால் சுட்டெரித்துப்போடுவோம்; எங்களுக்குள்ளவைகளைப் பறித்துக்கொள்ளவா எங்களை அழைத்தீர்கள் என்றார்கள். And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they said unto Samson's wife, Entice thy husband, that he may declare unto us the riddle, lest we burn thee and thy father's house with fire: have ye called us to take that we have? is it not so?

And Samson's wife wept before him, and said, Thou dost but hate me, and lovest me not: thou hast put forth a riddle unto the children of my people, and hast not told it me. And he said unto her, Behold, I have not told it my father nor my mother, and shall I tell it thee?

And she wept before him the seven days, while their feast lasted: and it came to pass on the seventh day, that he told her, because she lay sore upon him: and she told the riddle to the children of her people.

And the men of the city said unto him on the seventh day before the sun went down, What is sweeter than honey? And what is stronger than a lion? and he said unto them, If ye had not plowed with my heifer, ye had not found out my riddle.

And the Spirit of the LORD came upon him, and he went down to Ashkelon, and slew thirty men of them, and took their spoil, and gave change of garments unto them which expounded the riddle. And his anger was kindled, and he went up to his father's house.

20 சிம்சோனின் பெண்சாதியோவென்றால், அவனுடைய தோழரில் அவனோடே சிநேகமாயிருந்த ஒருவனுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டாள். But Samson's wife was given to his companion, whom he had used as his friend.

1 Simson thimnaaththukkup poy, thimnaaththilae pelistharin kumaaraththikalil oru pennnnaik kanndu, And Samson went down to Timnath, and saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines.

2 Thirumpa vanthu, than thaayaiyum thakappanaiyum Nnokki: thimnaaththilae pelistharin kumaaraththikalil oru pennnnaik kanntaen; avalai enakkuk kolla vaenndum entan. And he came up, and told his father and his mother, and said, I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines: now therefore get her for me to wife.

3 Appoluthu avan thaayum avan thakappanum avanai Nnokki: nee poy, viruththasethanamillaatha pelistharidaththil oru pennnnaik kollavaenntiyathenna? Un sakothararin kumaaraththikalilum, engal janamanaiththilum penn illaiyaa entarkal. Simson than thakappanai Nnokki: aval en kannnukkup piriyamaanaval, avalaiyae enakkuk kollavaenndum entan. Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well.

4 Avan pelistharidaththil kuttam pitikka mukaantharam unndaakumpati, ithu karththarin seyal entu avan thaayum thakappanum ariyaathirunthaarkal; akkaalaththilae pelisthar isravaelai aanndaarkal. But his father and his mother knew not that it was of the LORD, that he sought an occasion against the Philistines: for at that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel.

5 Appatiyae simsonum avan thaayum thakappanum thimnaaththukkup pokap purappattarkal; avarkal thimnaath oor thiraatchaththottangalmattum vanthapothu, itho, kerchchikkira paalasingam ontu avanukku ethiraaka vanthathu. Then went Samson down, and his father and his mother, to Timnath, and came to the vineyards of Timnath: and, behold, a young lion roared against him.

6 Appoluthu karththarutaiya aavi avanmael palamaay iranginathinaal, avan than kaiyil ontum illaathirunthum, athai oru aattukkuttiyaik kiliththuppodukirathupol kiliththup pottan; aanaalum thaan seythathai avan than thaay thakappanukku arivikkavillai. And the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done.

7 Avan poy anthap pennnnotae paesinaan; aval simsonin kannnukkup piriyamaayirunthaal. And he went down, and talked with the woman; and she pleased Samson well.

8 Silanaalaikkuppinpu, avan avalai vivaakampannnath thirumpivanthu, singaththin udalaip paarkkiratharku valivilakip ponaan; itho, singaththin udalukkullae thaeneekkoottamum thaenum irunthathu. And after a time he returned to take her, and he turned aside to see the carcass of the lion: and, behold, there was a swarm of bees and honey in the carcass of the lion.

9 Avan athaith than kaikalil eduththu, saappittukkonntae nadanthu, than thaaythakappanidaththil vanthu, avarkalukkum koduththaan; avarkalum saappittarkal, aanaalum thaan anthath thaenaich singaththin udalilae eduththathai avarkalukku arivikkavillai. And he took thereof in his hands, and went on eating, and came to his father and mother, and he gave them, and they did eat: but he told not them that he had taken the honey out of the carcass of the lion.

10 Avan thakappan anthap penn irukkum idaththil ponapothu, simson angae virunthuseythaan; vaalipar appatich seyvathu valakkam. So his father went down unto the woman: and Samson made there a feast; for so used the young men to do.

11 Avarkal avanaik kanndapothu, avanotaekooda irukkumpati muppathu tholarai avanidaththil konnduvanthaarkal. And it came to pass, when they saw him, that they brought thirty companions to be with him.

12 Simson avarkalai Nnokki: oru vidukathaiyai ungalukkuch sollukiraேn; athai neengal virunthunnkira aelunaalaikkullae kanndupitiththu enakku viduviththaal, naan ungalukku muppathu thuppattikalaiyum muppathu maattaு vasthirangalaiyum koduppaen. And Samson said unto them, I will now put forth a riddle unto you: if ye can certainly declare it me within the seven days of the feast, and find it out, then I will give you thirty sheets and thirty change of garments:

13 Athai enakku viduvikkaathae ponaal, neengal enakku muppathu thuppattikalaiyum muppathu maattaு vasthirangalaiyum kodukkavaenndum entan. Atharku avarkal: un vidukathaiyaich sollu; naangal athaik kaetkattum entarkal. But if ye cannot declare it me, then shall ye give me thirty sheets and thirty change of garments. And they said unto him, Put forth thy riddle, that we may hear it.

14 Appoluthu avan: patchikkiravanidaththilurunthu patchanamum, palavaanidaththilirunthu mathuramum vanthathu entan; antha vidukathai avarkalaal moontu naalmattum viduvikkak koodaathae poyittaு. And he said unto them, Out of the eater came forth meat, and out of the strong came forth sweetness. And they could not in three days expound the riddle.

15 Aelaamnaalilae avarkal simsonin pennsaathiyaip paarththu: un purushan antha vidukathaiyai engalukku viduvikkumpatikku nee avanai nayam pannnu; illaavittal naangal unnaiyum un thakappan veettaைyum akkiniyaal sutteriththuppoduvom; engalukkullavaikalaip pariththukkollavaa engalai alaiththeerkal entarkal. And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they said unto Samson's wife, Entice thy husband, that he may declare unto us the riddle, lest we burn thee and thy father's house with fire: have ye called us to take that we have? is it not so?

16 Appoluthu simsonin pennsaathi avanukku munpaaka aluthu, nee ennai naesiyaamal ennaip pakaikkiraay, en janangalukku oru vidukathaiyaich sonnaay, athai enakkaavathu viduvikkavillaiyae ental; atharku avan: itho, naan en thaaythakappanukkum athai viduvikkavillaiyae, unakku athai viduvippaeno entan. And Samson's wife wept before him, and said, Thou dost but hate me, and lovest me not: thou hast put forth a riddle unto the children of my people, and hast not told it me. 17 Virunthunnkira aelunaalum aval avan munpaaka aluthukonntae irunthaal; aelaamnaalilae aval avanai alattikkonntirunthapatiyaal, athai avalukku viduviththaan; appoluthu aval than janangalukku antha vidukathaiyai viduviththaal. And she wept before him the seven days, while their feast lasted: and it came to pass on the seventh day, that he told her, because she lay sore upon him: and she told the riddle to the children of her people.

18 Aakaiyaal aelaamnaalilae poluthu pokumunnae, antha oor manushar avanai Nnokki, thaenaippaarkkilum mathuramaanathu enna, singaththaippaarkkilum palamaanathum enna entarkal; atharku avan: neengal en kidaariyaal ulaathiruntheerkalaanaal, en vidukathaiyaik kanndupitippathillai entan. And the men of the city said unto him on the seventh day before the sun went down, What is sweeter than honey?
