மேலும் விருத்தசேதன உடன்படிக்கையையும் அவனுக்கு ஏற்படுத்தினார். அந்தப்படியே அவன் ஈசாக்கைப் பெற்றபோது, எட்டாம் நாளிலே அவனை விருத்தசேதனம்பண்ணினான். ஈசாக்கு யாக்கோபையும், யாக்கோபு பன்னிரண்டு கோத்திரப்பிதாக்களையும் பெற்றார்கள்.

“தேவன் ஆபிரகாமோடு ஓர் உடன்படிக்கை பண்ணினார். இந்த உடன்படிக்கையின் அடையாளமே விருத்த சேதனமாகும். எனவே ஆபிரகாமுக்கு ஒரு மகன் பிறந்ததும், அவன் பிறந்து எட்டு நாட்களான பின் ஆபிரகாம் தன் மகனுக்கு விருத்தசேதனம் செய்வித்தார். அவரது மகனின் பெயர் ஈசாக்கு. ஈசாக்கும் தனது மகன் யாக்கோபுக்கு விருத்தசேதனம் செய்வித்தார். யாக்கோபும் தனது மக்களுக்கு அதைச் செய்தார். அந்த மகன்களே பின்னர் பன்னிரண்டு தந்தையராக மாறினர்.

Maelum viruththasethana udanpatikkaiyaiyum avanukku aerpaduththinaar. Anthappatiyae avan eesaakkaip pettapothu, ettam naalilae avanai viruththasethanampannnninaan. Eesaakku yaakkopaiyum, yaakkopu panniranndu koththirappithaakkalaiyum pettaாrkal.
