பின்பு அப்னேர் தாவீதை நோக்கி: நான் எழுந்துபோய் இஸ்ரவேலை எல்லாம் உம்மோடே உடன்படிக்கைபண்ணும்படிக்கு, ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவனிடத்தில் சேர்த்துக்கொண்டு; வருகிறேன்; அதினாலே உம்முடைய ஆத்துமா அரசாள விரும்புகிற இடமெல்லாம் அரசாளுவீர் என்றான்; அப்படியே தாவீது அப்னேரை அனுப்பிவிட்டான்; அவன் சமாதானத்தோடே போனான்.

அப்னேர் தாவீதை நோக்கி, “எனது ஆண்டவனும், அரசருமானவரே! நான் அனைத்து இஸ்ரவேலரையும் உம்மிடம் அழைத்துவர அனுமதியும். அப்போது அவர்கள் உம்மோடு ஒரு ஒப்பந்தம் செய்துக்கொள்வார்கள். பின் நீர் விரும்பியதுபோல் இஸ்ரவேலை ஆளலாம்” என்றான். எனவே தாவீது அப்னேரை அனுப்பிவிட்டான். அப்னேர் சமாதானமாய் திரும்பினான்.
